Chapter 1061
When His Eyes Opened
âAhh!â Their lovey-dovey antics made Layla cringe. She let go of Averyâs hand and ran downstairs at
once.
At nine that night, Avery came out of the childrenâs room and went back to the master bedroom.
Elliot looked at her while carrying Robert. âHow did it go?â
âI apologized to him and told him to do his best without letting it get to his head. He just said,â Okayâ.â
Avery let out a smile. âHe wasnât as angry as I thought heâd be.â
âThatâs a good thing.â Elliot breathed a sigh of relief. âLet Robert sleep with us tonight! I want to
experience what itâs like to sleep with a child at night.â
Robert was young and looked like him, so he felt like he was holding a miniature version of himself when
he carried Robert.
His fatherly love welled up within his heart.
He wanted to carry the baby in his hands all the time, rather than just at night.
âAre you sure?â Avery cocked her eyebrow. âDonât you need to go to work tomorrow? We enjoyed
ourselves for five days at home and completely ignored the wedding preparations. Wonât you be busy
tomorrow?â
Elliot did not realize how serious it was and asked, âAre you saying that I might not be able to get up
tomorrow if I bring him to sleep tonight?â
âHe needs to drink milk at night, and thereâs a possibility heâll be full of energy and refuses to sleep after
heâs done. In that case, youâll have to play with him. By the time heâs tired and finally falls asleep, itâll be
you who might find it difficult to sleepâ¦â
Elliot immediately scrapped the idea of sleeping with the child when she said that.
âI will be really busy tomorrow. Maybe Iâll just play with him for a bit right now!â Elliot held Robert,
grabbed an animal book, and looked at the pictures with the boy.
Avery took a book from the study and lay down on the bed to read.
âWhat are you reading, Avery?â Elliot glanced at her and saw a medical book focusing on andrology.
âAndrology.â Her tone was indifferent. âThereâs no guarantee the three men in our family wonât get sick in
the future.â
Elliot was speechless.
âHave you done your annual checkup?â she asked.
âItâs every June.â
âOh, in that case, letâs do it together after the wedding!â she said.
âSure.â He saw that the child was flipping through the book without his help, so he went over to Avery
GVKppD>5 discussed something with her. âHey, should I get a vasectomy? We already have three
children, and Iâm pretty sure we wonât have any more children in the future.â
Avery looked at him in astonishment. âArenât you afraid of the pain?â
âIt shouldnât be very painful, right? Canât they give me some anesthetics if it hurts?â He guessed.
âThereâs no need to do that though.â Averyâs cheeks were hot. âAs long as we use the proper
contraceptives, we should be able to avoid any accidental pregnancies.â
âWhat if it still happens?â âIf youâre expecting it to happen, then it might still happen even if you get a
vasectomy,â she teased. âI donât want you to go under the knife for this.â
Her tone suggested that she felt pity for him.
âIâll listen to your advice,â he said, then he kissed her on the cheek.
Avery kissed him back. âThat sentence is so much better to hear than âI love youâ.â
âDo you want a husband or a slave?â âI want someone like you who both loves and listens to me.â She
looked content. âIâll let you in on something you might not like to hear-I knew all along that youâd listen to
me when it came to Adrian.â âYouâre crossing the line with that, Avery.â Elliot pretended to get angry.
âWhat if I donât listen to you?â
âIf you donât listen to me, Iâll just kiss you.â She hugged his neck and immediately kissed his lips. Even
heroes fall for beautiful damsels. You wonât be able to escape my charm.â The next morning, an
oversized package appeared in the living room.
