Chapter 1056
When His Eyes Opened
At the hospital, Adrian was in rather low spirits because he did not see Avery that day.
The bodyguard sat beside his hospital bed and was absorbed in some mobile game. Meanwhile, Adrian
stared at the ceiling in a daze.
It did not take long before the door of the ward was pushed open and Avery walked in.
Adrian looked at her in a daze and thought he was dreaming. After all, the bodyguard had told him
earlier in the moming that Avery was not coming that day.
âHow are you feeling today, Adrian?â Avery walked up to the bed and asked.
The bodyguard immediately quit the game and stood up in shock.
âMiss Tate? Didnât you say you were going to take care of your husband today?â The bodyguard cleared
his throat awkwardly. âWhy are you here? Is your husband alright? Or did you get into an argument with
him?â
âWould it kill you to talk a little less?â Avery seemed to realize that the people around her, such as Mike
and the bodyguard, frequently overstepped their boundaries.
It was probably because she had a good temper that they felt they could take things a little less seriously.
Adrian grabbed Averyâs hand and said with a bright smile, âIâm much better. Bring me out!â
âAre you sure you can be discharged from the hospital?â Avery glanced at his medication for that day
and saw that it was nearly finished.
âI donât want to stay here,â he looked at her and pleaded. âIâm worried Nathan might come to me and hit
me.â
Avery looked at his uneasy expression and nodded. âIâll ask your doctor and see if youâre ready to be
discharged from the hospital today. If so, then Iâll get you discharged.â
At Elliotâs mansion, Mrs. Scarlet brought breakfast to the master bedroom on the second floor after
Avery left.
âMaster Elliot, you need to at least eat something or else your health will get worse,â Mrs. Scarlet said
bitterly. âI overheard your conversation earlier. That man named Adrian is Sheaâs brother?â
Elliot took the food from Mrs. Scarletâs hand and answered coldly.
âWith all due respect, I donât think you have anything to be afraid of,â Mrs. Scarlet said calmly. âNo one
can undermine the status you have. No one is going to mock you regardless of your history, GXIqkF=0
killing Master Eason was a justified act. Even if the public knew the truth, they wonât necessarily scold
you.â
Mrs. Scarletâs words stunned Elliot. âDo you truly believe so?â
âWhatever the outside world thinks of you is insignificant, because, in my eyes, you are a kind.
hearted and honest person. No man will ever be better than you, and I believe Avery sees you the same
way too.â Mrs. Scarlet said in all sincerity. âShe advised you not to kill anyone because sheâs afraid that
youâd lose your way. You were never wrong in the first place, but that will change if you take a personâs
life.â
Elliotâs mood calmed down gradually.
âI know what youâre afraid of. Youâre concerned that your problems will affect Avery and the children.
Youâre also worried that your peaceful life would be disrupted and that everyone will judge you wherever
you go in the future.â Mrs. Scarlet pointed out his inner fears. âBut you have nothing to be afraid of.
Youâre not an ordinary person, which means that the troubles you have to face will be even more
complicated than those of an ordinary person.â
âIâm not as strong as you think,â he said bluntly. âI still canât accept my history.â
âThink positively. No matter what kind of history you have, Avery will never hate you. Whatever you have
experienced in the past would not affect your happy life with Avery in the future.â
An hour later, a black car stopped at the entrance of Elliotâs home.
Averyâs bodyguard got out of the car first.
Mrs. Scarlet immediately went upstairs to report to Elliot after seeing Averyâs retum
âMaster Elliot! Avery is here.â Elliotâs mood had improved greatly after Mrs. Scarlet persuaded him.
He would no longer blame Avery for all those problems, and he understood that it was for his good when
Avery forbade him from killing anyone.
He calmed himself down and went downstairs. However, he had already spotted Avery with another man
before he even got to the first floor.
