Author's Pov:

The Raichand victory in court had sent shockwaves through the business world. But Vivan had no time to bask in it—his work wasn’t done yet.

The moment they stepped out of the courtroom, Vivan turned to Advika and said, “I have to go to the office. There’s still a lot to handle.” His voice was calm, but the sharpness in his gaze revealed his focus.

She nodded, forcing a smile. “Of course.”

He cupped her face gently, rubbing his thumb along her cheek. “You should rest. Go home.”

“I… actually wanted to visit my uncle and aunt,” she said quickly. “It’s been a while, and after everything, I just… miss them.”

Vivan’s expression softened. “That’s a good idea. Agam, drop her off.”

Agam, who had been standing beside them, gave a quick nod..

Vivan kissed her forehead and turned to leave, stepping into his car without another question. The moment he drove off, Advika sighed and got into Agam’s car.

As soon as they were on the road, she leaned back and whispered, “I lied to him again.”

Agam, gripping the steering wheel, glanced at her briefly. “One last lie, bhabhi. After this, you’ll tell him everything.”

She exhaled deeply, staring out of the window as the city lights blurred past. “Will he forgive me, Agam?”

A silence stretched between them before he finally said, “You’re not just any woman to him, bhabhi. You’re Advika Raichand. And trust me, he loves you more than you think.”

She swallowed hard, gripping the folds of her dress. “I hope you’re right.”

Because tonight, the truth would finally come crashing down. And she had no idea if their love was strong enough to survive the storm that was about to hit.

Flashback:

A few nights before the court case, when suspicion still clouded her mind, Advika had followed Agam. She had seen too much—his interaction with Raghav, the way he sometimes disappeared without explanation. Doubt had crept in, whispering that he was a part of Raghav’s plans.

That night, she trailed him to an old warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Hidden in the shadows, she watched as Agam entered the dimly lit building. Raghav was already there, leaning against a crate, smirking.

"I told you to stay out of this, Agam," Raghav said, his voice laced with amusement.

Agam crossed his arms, his expression stone-cold. "And I told you that whatever game you’re playing, it won’t end well for you."

Advika was confused hearing them.

Raghav chuckled. "You always act like the noble one, but let's not forget that I have something which can destroy your best friend’s life."

Agam’s jaw tightened. "Don't I say don't you dare to tell him anything, I won’t stand by and watch you destroy his life."

Raghav took a step closer, lowering his voice. "You think you have a family, Agam? You’re just a pet to them. You’ll always be the kid they allowed to be a part of their world."

Advika clenched her fists, anger flaring inside her.

Agam exhaled sharply. "I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Least of all to you."

Raghav smirked. "And what about Advika? She’s been doubting you too, hasn’t she? Do you think she’ll ever truly trust you after everything?"

Agam’s gaze darkened, but he didn’t respond.

Raghav laughed. "That silence tells me everything. You’re playing the loyal best friend, but deep down, you know that if vivan will see you here with me he will surely doubt you."

Agam stepped forward, his voice low and firm. "I don’t care what you think. Just know this—I’ll make sure you regret every move you made against him."

Raghav’s smirk faltered for a brief second.

Agam turned on his heel and left without another word.

Hidden behind a stack of crates, Advika closed her eyes, realisation sinking in. He was never against them. He was always on their side.

That night, she decided—Agam deserved to know that she trusted him. And together, they would bring Raghav down.

The heavy metal gates of the prison creaked open, the dim yellow lights casting eerie shadows on the cold concrete walls. The air smelled of rust and damp stone, a stark contrast to the polished halls of power where they had defeated Raghav just hours ago.

Advika stepped inside, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. Beside her, Agam walked with an unshaken demeanor, his hands shoved into his pockets. The guard led them down the corridor until they reached a secured visiting area.

On the other side of the steel bars sat Raghav, his once impeccable suit now slightly wrinkled, but his arrogance untouched. He leaned back against the chair, arms crossed, an infuriating smirk dancing on his lips as his gaze flickered between Advika and Agam.

"Ah, the newly formed duo," Raghav mused, his voice lazy but taunting. "To what do I owe the honor of this visit? Come to gloat?"

Advika took a step closer, her eyes dark with determination. "We came to make one thing clear, Raghav—you lost. And you will stay lost."

Raghav chuckled, tapping his fingers against the table. "Oh, Advika, my dear, you wound me. Did you really think this was over? That a few documents and some courtroom theatrics could bring me down?" He leaned forward, his voice dripping with malice. "You of all people should know, the real game is never played in the open."

Agam scoffed. "And you of all people should know, no matter how many games you play, you always lose in the end."

Raghav’s smirk widened. "Interesting, Agam. I must say, it was adorable watching you act all righteous. Tell me, did you enjoy deceiving your own brother all this time?"

Agam’s fists clenched, but he didn’t take the bait.

Advika narrowed her eyes. "You still think you have control, don’t you?"

Raghav shrugged. "I know I do." He glanced at the clock on the wall. "Because while you both stand here, thinking you’ve won… someone else is already pulling the next string."

A sliver of unease crept into Advika’s chest. "What are you talking about?"

Raghav leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Did you really think I’d let you walk away unscathed? That I wouldn’t have a final card to play?" He chuckled darkly. "By tonight, Advika… Vivan will hate you more than he ever loved you."

Her breath caught, but she didn’t let her expression waver.

Agam took a threatening step forward. "If you try to mess with my brother again—"

Raghav laughed. "Try? Oh, Agam… it’s already done."

The guard announced their time was up.

Advika held Raghav’s gaze for a long moment before stepping back. "We’ll see about that."

Without another word, she turned and walked away, Agam following close behind. But the chill in Raghav’s smirk stayed with them.

Because whatever he had planned—

It was already in motion.

Advika sat stiffly in the passenger seat, her fingers gripping her phone tightly as she stared at the screen. 12 missed calls. All from Vivan.

Her heart pounded harder with each second. She tried calling him back, but the line was unreachable. Why isn’t he answering now?

She swallowed, her throat dry.

Agam noticed her tense posture and sighed. "Bhabhi, relax. Maybe he just wanted to check on you. You know how he is."

Advika shook her head, her mind clouded with unease. "No, Agam… something feels wrong. I can feel it."

Agam tightened his grip on the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on the road. "Don’t overthink, bhabhi. We did what we had to do. Raghav was just trying to get into your head. He’s bluffing."

But was he?

A cold shiver ran down Advika’s spine.

She had played every move carefully, planned every step to ensure Vivan never got hurt. But now, there was a storm brewing—one she couldn’t see yet, but could feel in the pit of her stomach.

The car sped through the streets, the city lights flashing past them in streaks of gold and red. But inside the car, there was only silence—an eerie, suffocating silence that made Advika’s pulse race even more.

She tried calling again. Still unreachable.

Her grip on the phone tightened. Please, Vivan… pick up.

But deep down, she knew.

Something had happened.

Something big.

Shattered Bonds

Agam gripped the steering wheel tighter, his pulse quickening as he listened to the receptionist on the other end of the call.

"Sir, Mr. Raichand hasn’t come to the office today."

The words sent a sharp jolt of unease through him.

He ended the call, his expression darkening as he glanced at Advika, who sat beside him, still dialing Vivan’s number over and over again. Still unreachable.

"Bhabhi…" Agam’s voice was tense.

She looked at him, her eyes desperate for answers. "What?"

"He never went to the office."

The color drained from her face.

Without another word, Agam pressed the accelerator, the car speeding through the streets as a suffocating silence filled the air.

By the time they reached Raichand Mansion, Advika didn’t wait for the car to stop fully—she pushed open the door and ran inside, her heels clicking against the marble floor.

She took the stairs two at a time, her breath ragged as she reached their bedroom. The moment she stepped in, her heart stopped.

The room was a mess.

The neatly arranged bed was unmade, pillows scattered on the floor. The closet door hung open, and some of Vivan’s clothes were missing.

Her chest tightened. "Vivan…?" she whispered, stepping inside, her trembling hands pushing aside the curtains as if he would suddenly appear.

Nothing.

Her gaze flickered around the room—until it landed on the nightstand.

A few papers lay there, neatly stacked. With shaking hands, she reached for them, her eyes scanning the top page.

Divorce Papers.

Signed.

By both of them.

Her world spun.

She stumbled back, her vision blurring as her breath came in sharp gasps. No. No, this can’t be.

A small folded note sat beside the papers.

With trembling fingers, she picked it up and unfolded it.

"Goodbye, Mrs. Raichand. Ab aap iss rishte se azad hain. Yehi chahti thi na aap?"

The room felt like it was closing in on her.

Her knees buckled, and she clutched the note to her chest, her mind unable to process what was happening.

Vivan left her.

A sob tore through her throat.

"Vivan…" she whispered, her voice breaking.

But he wasn’t here to listen anymore.
