Chapter 60 (Final)

Third Person's POV

8 years later.

"Yes Mom. I already arrived here in Paris. How's Dad?" Jennie said to the other line.

"He's okay now. I'm surprised he didn't cried that much." Her mom said.

After her lover died, her mom went back to Busan and there, she met Jennie's father again. Both of them decided to forget the bad things that happened in the past and started a new life. Even Jennie was surprised when she got home during their semestral break and found her Mom cooking at the kitchen.

"He always cry whenever I'm going overseas." Jennie said and rolled her eyes. "I need to go mom. I love you. Tell dad I love him too. I'll call you later." She said before ending the call.

The reason why she ended the call is because she saw Jisoo and Rosé approaching her. The three of them travelled together to Paris yesterday.

"Can we just stay at the hotel? My head is still spinning." Rosé said.

Rosé is now a certified food critic. She just got her license last year and the demand for her is surprisingly high. She just started working for months but her schedule has been quite busy.

"Can you remind me why am I even here?" Jisoo asked.

"Why? Don't you want to spend your holiday with me Engr. Kim?" Rosé said in a cute way.

Jisoo became a licensed engineer a year earlier than Rosé. She works at a big electronics company and a few step closer to start her own robotics company.

"Of course, I do my sweet little chipmunk." Jisoo said and pinch Rosé's cheeks.

"Get a room." Jennie playfully said. "Where's Yeji?" She asked the couple when she noticed that her cousin was missing. Yeji is also working for Jennie as an intern.

"I thought she's with you?" Rosé said.

And as if on cue, Yeji suddenly appeared with a frown written all over her face.

"What's gotten you so grumpy?" Jisoo asked.

"Where have you been?" Jennie crossed her arms and raised one of her eyebrows towards the latter but it doesn't affect her cousin.

Yeji rolled her eyes in annoyance when she remembered what happened just a few minutes ago.

"I went to the nearest convenience store." She said.

"And you didn't even bother to tell me?" Jennie fired back.

"You were so busy talking to Auntie and I can't stop myself for craving on a goddamn ice cream."

"So where is the ice cream?" Rosé asked when she noticed Yeji came back empty-handed.

Yeji squealed in annoyance and stomped her feet which made the three girls eyed her with confusion. Jisoo leaned forward to Jennie who still has her arms crossed.

"She is really indeed your cousin." Jisoo whispered to Jennie which earned her a glare from the feline.

"What's going on with you?" Jennie asked her cousin.

"Well, like what I said, I went to the convenience store to get my favorite ice cream which is strawberry. There's only one left and I thought to myself that I was lucky. But when I was about to get the ice cream, a fucking stranger grab it first in one swift! I kept on telling her that I was the first one to spot that freaking ice cream but instead of hearing me out, she just stare at me and went straight to the counter. She even ate the ice cream in front of me! I swear if I'm going to see that ice cream stealer again, I'm going to choke her with my own hands." Yeji said in a raging manner.

The three girls giggled at Yeji's explanation. All of them remember the same exact scenario where Jennie and Lisa first met. Jennie can't wipe off the smile on her face as she took a step back towards the memory lane.

"Why are you laughing?" Yeji put her hands on her hips and glared at the three.

"Your cousin here." Rosé said and put her arms around Jennie's shoulder. "Encountered the same scenario as yours way back during our high school days. The only difference is she got what she wanted. Oh, I can still remember how bitchy her face that time."

"Stop exposing me." Jennie said and rolled her eyes playfully.

"Really? Who is your ice cream stealer then? Is that the girl named Lili?" Yeji asked.

"Yes. The only one." Jisoo said proudly. "Who knows, your ice cream stealer might become your own Lili." She wiggled her eyebrows in a teasing manner.

"Ew. Hell no!" Yeji strongly disagree.

Jennie shook her head in disbelief. She can't believe Jisoo have the guts to tease her cousin when Yeji's attitude is more bitchy than her.

The smile on the feline's face slowly disappeared when her eyes darted towards the direction behind Yeji. She blinked for a few times just to make sure that she wasn't dreaming.

"Lisa." Jennie whispered before removing Rosé's arm.

Jennie hurriedly run towards the direction where she saw Lisa which is at the other side of the street. She shove her way towards the pedestrian lane and was about to cross while her eyes are still focus at the familiar figure that she's been staring at.

The feline didn't paid much attention to her surroundings. Her mind was clearly occupied by the thought of Lisa, standing just few meters away from her.

"Jennie, wait!" Jisoo yelled and quickly pulled Jennie by the hand to save her from the rushing car.

The stoplight went into green without Jennie knowing it. Luckily, her friends followed her as soon as she run away from them.

"What the hell are you thinking?" Jisoo angrily yelled but Jennie remained on her frozen state.

"Are you planning to experience what it feels like being in a coma? Cause if you do, I can do it for you right now." Rosé said.

"Lisa." Jennie whispered.

"What?" Rosé asked.

"She called someone's name. Lisa? Who is it?" Yeji asked.

Jennie held Jisoo's shoulder and look at her straight into the eyes.

"Jisoo, I saw her!" Jennie said.

"Jennie, that's what you said when we're at New York, Japan and Australia. You just miss her so much and you're starting to imagine things." Jisoo answered.

"No. This time, I am sure. Lisa was stand-" Jennie cut-off her own words when she saw that the figure that she's been eyeing for a while is now gone.

"See? Just like what happened way back then. You kept on saying you saw Lisa but she's not here. We don't even know where the hell she is in this world." Jisoo said.

Lisa never contacted any one of them since the day she left. They don't even know if that friend of them is still alive. Not even Rosé. She tried to reach Lisa towards her social media accounts but the tall girl got it deactivated. The blonde just understand that Lisa really needs some of her alone time.

"It's been eight years since she left Jennie. Don't you think it's time for you to move on? Who knows, maybe Lisa forget about you or even about us either." Rosé said.

"No. I'm still waiting for her. Lisa will be back." Jennie said.

"But what if you're just waiting for nothing?" Jisoo said.

"Then I guess my luck has ran out." Jennie said and smiled weakly.

"We just don't want you to suffer, Jennie."

"It's fine Jisoo. I've always prepared myself for the worst case scenario." Jennie said in a confident manner. "So, for now, let's just roam around before we start working tomorrow."

"What is the name of the restaurant that you're going to rate?" Jisoo asked her girlfriend while she's driving towards the location.

"According to the email, it's called L.M.'s Plate Lodge. Quite a catchy name for a restaurant." Rosé said.

Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé mostly travels for fun but this time it's quite different because Rosé got an email coming from the owner of the restaurant. It was the owner's personal request to have Rosé as their food critic which they didn't find odd since the blonde was on high demand.

"It's weird though because this restaurant was built right before I got my license and it has some good reviews over the internet. But this is the first time that someone will critic them." Rosé said.

"Maybe the owner heard about you and really waited for you to become their food critic." Jisoo said.

"That's another weird thing, no one knows who the owner is. Not even a single picture at the articles." Rosé said.

"What if the owner is a serial killer that serves human bodies as the main course of the restaurant?"

"You really need to stop watching horror movies, Kim Jisoo." Jennie said which made Rosé giggled. "What are you doing, Yeji?"

"Making some new designs." Yeji said as her eyes still fixed at the tablet that she's holding.

"I know. What I mean is, we're having holiday right now, which means no work." Jennie said and snatched the tablet away from Yeji. The feline always witnessed how her cousin's working so hard that's why she wanted to give her a week of rest at least.

Yeji was about to protest but they already arrived at their destination making her to just huff in annoyance.

"Wow. This is a one fancy restaurant." Jisoo said as she eyed the outside of it.

They went inside and the interior design made their jaw dropped. It was a mixed of fancy and elegance. The lightning, the way how their tables are fixed, the designs at the ceiling, are just so pleasing in the eye.

"This is indeed some restaurant." Rosé said.

"I bet the owner of this is a rich ass one." Yeji said.

"Are you Ms. Park?" A middle-aged woman staff approach them kindly.

"Yes. I am." Rosé politely answered.

"This way, ma'am." The woman said and guided them towards their table. "Just call me whenever you're ready to order."

"Why is this all written in French?" Jisoo asked as she read the menu.

"Because we're at Paris?" Jennie said which made the latter glared at her.

The girls leave the ordering towards Rosé since she knew better when it comes to food. After forty-five minutes, lots of mouthwatering foods served into their table. Jisoo can't help but to drool at the sight of spectacular dishes that is resting right in front of her.

"The food looks good. I bet it tastes good too." Rosé said before taking her first bite.

The blonde's eyes twinkle as her tongue savor her first dish. The three girls saw how Rosé was enjoying it so they can't helped but to dig in as well.

Rosé lifted her hand to call the woman and said, "Can I talk to the head chef please? Or maybe the owner."

"I'll just call her ma'am." The woman said and went towards the kitchen.

After a few minutes, the woman came back which made Yeji choke on her drink when she saw the girl that's with her.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Yeji angrily yelled at the pink-haired girl who is just looking at her quietly. It seems like she's trying to remember if she already met Yeji somewhere.

"Oh. You're the girl from the convenience store." The pink-haired girl said blankly.

"Wait, is she the ice cream stealer?" Jennie asked.

"Ice cream stealer?"

"Yeah. You stole my ice cream remember?! I told you I found it first but you still have the guts to take it away." Yeji darted back.

"Oh. It's not my fault that you're slow." She cockily said.

Yeji was about to answer back but Rosé stopped her by holding her arm.

"May I know who you are?" Rosé politely asked.

"Oh. Forgive me for my rudeness." She said and remove her hat. "I'm Ryujin, the Sous Chef of L.M.'s Plate Lodge."

"Nice to meet you." Rosé said and reached her hand for a shake. "But may I know where the owner is?'

"The owner is also the head chef. She's just finishing some of the orders. We're quite packed today since its weekend. She asked me to keep you company and to answer some of your questions."

Rosé nodded and started to asked Ryujin some questions related to her work. Yeji was just silently sitting there and keeps on gving Ryujin some deadly glares which the latter just ignored.

"I'll make sure to post an article about this restaurant. The food here is really good and so as the ambiance." Rosé said.

"Thank you so much." Ryujin politely said and bowed for respect which made Yeji scoffed a bit.

"I wish I can speak with the owner too. I'm quite curious about her identity since I haven't seen her picture yet in any articles." Rosé said.

"I'm here."

A familiar voice coming behind Rosé make all of them stiffened, except Ryujin and Yeji who doesn't know a thing.

"What the actual fuck." Jisoo cursed under her breath as she stare at the owner who is now standing beside her Sous Chef.

"Hi. It's been a long time." The owner smiled widely. "I'm Chef Lalisa Manoban, the head chef and the owner of L.M.'s Plate Lodge." Lisa said and bowed.

Jennie dropped her fork at the sight of the person that she's been waiting for so long. She still the same Lisa that she love except for her long jet black hair which made her aura more intimidating. The feline felt her heart beat faster. Lisa's hotness exceeds to another level because of that chef uniform that she's wearing.

Rosé slowly stand up and walk towards Lisa with a confused look written on her face. She slowly lifted up a finger and poke Lisa's cheeks to check if she's not hallucinating. Why not anyone of them thought about L.M. could be an acronym for Lalisa Manoban?

"I'm real chipmunk." Lisa said with a smile and hold Rosé's hand which made the blonde flinched a bit.

"Holy cow." Rosé said and covered her mouth which made Lisa giggle on her reaction.

"It's been a lo-" Lisa wasn't able to continue what she was about to say because Rosé suddenly jumped into her and gave her a hug which almost made the tall girl lose her balance.

"Easy." Lisa chuckled. "I missed you too, chipmunk."

Rosé let go of Lisa and gave a hard smack on Lisa's forehead. Jisoo stand up and gave Lisa a hard punch at Lisa's arm which made the tall girl fell on her knees. Jennie was still in shock because of Lisa's sudden appearance which made her remain frozen on her seat.

"Chef?! Are you okay?" Ryujin said and help Lisa stand up.

"Yes. I deserve that anyway." Lisa said and rubbed the part where Jisoo had punched.

"Where have you been all these years Manoban?! You don't know how worried we are!" Jisoo yelled angrily.

"As much as I wanted to explain everything, I still have some customers to attend to. So if it's okay with you, let's hang out tonight. I'm planning to close this place early today." Lisa said.

"Okay. You've got a lot of explaining to do." Jisoo squinted her eyes towards Lisa.

Lisa chuckled and bowed at them once again. She walked towards the kitchen but her eyes caught something else which made a smirk curled upon her lips

"It's nice seeing you again, Jennie."

"So, what do you want to eat? I swear the food here is so delicious." Lisa said.

The girls together with Yeji and Ryujin are currently having their dinner at the 58 Tour Eiffel, one of the famous restaurant around here in Paris.

"Order for me baby. You know I can't read French." Jisoo said and passed to Rosé the menu.

"How about you?" Lisa diverted her attention to the feline who was sitting right beside her.

"M-Me?" Jennie stuttered. Lisa just nodded with a smile which never failed to make Jennie's hear beat like crazy. "Can you recommend something? It's my first time here."

Lisa smiled at the feline before calling the waiter so that she can finally order. Jennie's jaw dropped when she heard how Lisa fluently speaks in French. She quickly grabbed a glass of water to ease the dryness that she felt right down on her throat.

"What?" Lisa asked when she caught Jennie still looking at her.

"Nothing. I was just amazed on how you talk in French." Jennie explained.

"Does it sounds sexy?" Lisa said and curled up a cocky smirk.

"Really Lisa? Right in front of my salad?" Rosé said but Lisa just shrugged it off.

"Anyway, I think it's time for you to do your explanation." Jisoo narrowed her eyes.

Lisa lifted both of her hand. "Okay. Jeez. I'm sorry okay? I just really wanted to focus on myself first that's why I cut my communication to all of you. I might not be able to stop myself if you guys will keep on whining for me to come back."

"Nope. Still not enough." Jisoo said.

"Oh come on. I'll pay for our dinner tonight."

"Damn Lisa. I miss you so much!" Jisoo said wearing a wide grin on her face. Rosé just shook her head out of disbelief.

"Anyway Lisa, your family owns a famous restaurant right? Why didn't you take over?" Rosé asked.

"I want to experience building my own restaurant without the help of my family. I want to experience what is like to start from the scratch. And knowing that you became successful with your own efforts, that is the best feeling ever." Lisa explained.

"Oh. So why you haven't revealed yourself in public? And I heard that it was your restaurant's first time to be rated?"

"If I did then it wouldn't be a surprise anymore. Yes it is. Actually I was waiting for you. I wanted my chipmunk to be the first Food Critic that'll step inside my restaurant."

"I've been you're Food Critic ever since. Remember that time when you first made a pasta for me?" Rosé said and took a bite from her salad. "Where did you get your Sous Chef?" She added and pointed to Ryujin who is bickering with Yeji.

"Oh. Ryujin? We went to the same university but she was a year younger. I saw how amazing her skills is so I decided to wait for her before opening my restaurant. L.M.'s need a chef like her."

"You got a gem there, Lis." Jisoo said.

"Anyway, have you seen the interior and how my restaurant was built? Guess who did it."

"Who?" Jennie asked bluntly.

"Irene and Seulgi or let me say, Arch. Kang." Lisa said proudly.

"Damn. You're not joking aren't you? Seulgi? The dance captain became an architect?" Jisoo said.

"Yup! I was surprised too when I found out." Lisa said. "Anyway, do you want to have a walk around the Eiffel Tower? The view there is pretty amazing."

After the girls finished their dinner, they took went on their way towards the Eiffel Tower. Rosé and Jisoo started to take some pictures since it's their first time seeing this landmark up-close. The couple drag Ryujin and Yeji along with them so the two will stop bickering, leaving Lisa and Jennie giggling at their actions.

"So, how are you?" Lisa walked closer towards Jennie.

"I'm doing well." Jennie answered.

"I heard you're now a famous fashion designer."

"I'm not that famous."

"Oh don't be so humble. I've heard a lot of news about you."

Jennie faced Lisa and squinted her eyes. "Are you perhaps, stalking me?"

Lisa just grinned and lifted both of her hands. "Oops. I got caught."

"Silly." Jennie said and hit Lisa's arm playfully.

"So, what should I call you? Ms.? Mrs.?" Lisa asked. Her voice has a hint of hesitation but she decided to shove it away.

"Have you saw me wearing a ring?" Jennie said and showed Lisa both of her hands which made the tall girl smile widely.

"I just to make sure. I don't want to be punched this pretty face of mine by someone."

"When did you get so cocky?" Jennie said and raised an eyebrow. Lisa leaned closer to the feline making their faces few inches apart.

"What? Isn't it true?" Lisa said. Jennie can feel the tall girl's warmth breath touching her lips.

Jennie moved a little closer and removed some strands of Lisa's hair that is covering her face.

"Your jet-black hair makes you a lot more matured." Jennie said and pulled away leaving Lisa with a disappointed face. "And prettier of course." She added.

They were interrupted by a loud angry squeal coming from Yeji. Both of their attention diverted towards where the voice came from. They burst out in laughter when they saw Yeji chasing Ryujin. Maybe they got into a fight again.

"So, you're single?" Lisa asked the feline, her eyes we're still fixed at the sight of Yeji and Ryujin running around.

"I've been waiting for someone for almost eight years." Jennie said. Lisa pressed her lips together to suppress a smile that has been wanting to escape. She needs to keep her cool.

"But I guess, waiting is over. That someone arrived already." Jennie said which made it harder for Lisa to hide her smile. Jennie giggle when she saw Lisa's reaction.

"Well, we've been waiting for too long. I guess it's time to finally put an end to this chase." Lisa blurted which made Jennie furrow her eyebrows in confusion. She's can't read what's going into Lisa's mind. She started to be scared.

"What if Lisa means by ending it is for us to remain friends only?" Jennie thought.

"Remember what I told you before I leave?" Lisa said and faced the confused feline.

"W-what?" Jennie stuttered. Her mind is currently occupied by her own random thoughts.

"You must have forgotten. But that's okay, I'll make you remember."

Lisa took something at the back of her pocket. "I've been keeping this with me for years and I've been waiting for this time to finally come."

Jennie gasped when she saw Lisa kneel down on one knee. Tears are starting to form at the corner of her eyes making her vision blurry.

"L-Lisa." Jennie said as she cover her mouth with her right hand.

"I told you back then. Ready or not, I'll make you my wife." Lisa opened the box and showed an expensive diamond ring.

"I know we only just met after all of these years earlier but I don't want to lose my chances anymore. I told you, I putting an end to this chase, right here, right now." Lisa paused for a moment and look at Jennie whose tears are already started falling.

"Marry me, Nini." Lisa said. Jennie nodded vigorously before pulling Lisa for a hug.

"Is that a yes?" Lisa said as she hug Jennie back tightly.

"You didn't ask. But it's a yes. I can't lose you anymore, Lili."

"Whoa. That was fast, Manoban!" Jisoo yelled. They saw everything that happened. Both Jisoo and Rosé are glad because finally, the two will have the happy ending that they deserve.

"You two should get married too." Lisa said as she let go of her fiancée.

"Wait!" Yeji yelled at the top of her lungs. "What about that girl named Lili? I thought you love her?"

Jennie chuckled when Lisa look at her. "She doesn't know a thing." Jennie said.

Lisa reached out her hand towards Jennie's cousin. "I'm Lili. Nice meeting you."

Yeji quickly apologized because Jennie didn't even mention Lili's true name to her. Lisa told her that it's okay and there's nothing to worry about before going back to Jennie.

"I missed you." Lisa said and wrapped her arms around Jennie's waist.

"Me too. Thank you for always choosing me, Lili." Jennie said and wrapped her arms around Lisa's nape.

"I told you, it will be always you until the end." Lisa said.

Lisa leaned her face closer towards Jennie's, lessening the gap between them. She planted first a kiss on her forehead, down to her nose, and to the both of her cheeks.

"I love you." Jennie blurted as their eyes met each other.

"I love you too." Lisa answered back before capturing the feline's lips and shared a one long sweet kiss that they've been longing for those years.
