Chapter 6
HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)
Lisa's POV
It's Saturday afternoon and I'm bored as hell. I've already finished my home works and chores. I want to come with Dad to the restaurant but he doesn't want me to go so I have no choice but to stay. I'm starting to regret why I didn't agree when RosÑ asked me to hangout.
I'm currently lying on my bed, busy staring at the ceiling because I've got nothing to do when suddenly, my phone rang.
Chipmunkð¿ï¸:
"Are you sure you don't want to come?"
I put my phone down and didn't reply to her text message. I flip myself and lie on my bed face down when I receive another message from chipmunk.
Chipmunkð¿ï¸:
"Is it because of Jennie?"
"Yes! It is because of her!" I said loudly and threw my phone somewhere in my room. Luckily, my floor is carpeted, and my phone didn't get any damage.
Yes, Jennie was the main reason why I don't want to come with RosÑ. When I heard that she's also coming, I immediately made excuses which leaving that chipmunk to just agree. I know she didn't believe at any of my excuses.
Since that day, when I found myself smiling at Jennie's tantrums, I've been working double on avoiding her. Why? Because I've been starting to feel some weird feelings which I can't explain.
I even started to think that I might starting to develop a crush on her but I immediately shook off that thought because I know, that I'm straight as hell. And I would be just proving her accusation of me being gay which is the least thing that I would want to happen.
I sat on my bed and my eyes caught my guitar which is sitting peacefully at the corner of my room. It's been a while since I played this. Maybe it's time to play again.
I grabbed my guitar and went to the balcony.
Third Person's POV
"Lisa's not replying to any of my messages." RosÑ exclaimed.
"Then maybe that's the way of her saying that she don't want to come today." Jisoo said and took a sip at her smoothie.
The two of them, together with Jennie are at a diner few blocks away from their school. They just finish their group study so they decided to hangout for a while since there wouldn't be any classes tomorrow.
Jisoo and RosÑ are busy talking with each other about random things, while Jennie was just staring and playing with her milkshake. Knowing that Lisa still wouldn't want to talk to her makes her feel anxious.
"Is it because of me?" Jennie suddenly said, making the two girls stopped their gossip and sent a pity look at the latter.
"Why would you think like that?" RosÑ said.
"You two are hanging out with me, the person who Lisa hates the most." Jennie replied.
"At least just for now." Jisoo said and took a bite from her chicken.
RosÑ kicked the chicken lover's knee beneath the table which made her winced in pain and made the chicken fell into the floor.
"Maybe Lisa is just busy, Jen." RosÑ said.
"Look what you've done to my precious chicken!" Jisoo shouted but she quickly shut her mouth when she saw the lady in front of her sending deadly glares.
A loud sigh coming from Jennie made Jisoo and RosÑ divert their attention back to her.
"Why don't we just go to my place? Let's watch some movies!" RosÑ suggested, trying to lighten up Jennie's mood.
"Yeah! Some horror movies!" Jisoo replied.
"I should just go home." Jennie said sadly, but RosÑ just gave her a knowing smirk.
"Even if we're going to watch Tangled?" The chipmunk said knowing that Jennie is also a big fan of Disney movies just like her.
"What? I thought we're going to watch horror movies!" Jisoo said but the latter ignored her which made her groaned in defeat.
Jennie's eyes brighten up upon hearing the movie title. She quickly gave RosÑ her infamous gummy smile and quickly pull her out of the diner.
"Yah! Wait for me! Aish. These kids." Jisoo shouted and quickly run towards Jennie and RosÑ direction.
--
"Wow. Your room is so, girly." Jisoo said as she take a tour around Rose's room.
"Pink walls? Pink bed? There's pink everywhere!" Jisoo exclaimed and flopped herself on Rose's bed making the two girls let out a giggle.
"Wait, you two we're friends since freshman year right? How come you're still amazed by her room?" Jennie asked.
"Because it's my first time here." Jisoo replied while scrolling at her social media account.
"What? Why?" Jennie asked once again.
"Because that girl over there haven't invite me even for once! Imagine, she keeps on hanging out at my place but didn't even care to invite me here." Jisoo said pointing out at the red-haired girl who is busy hovering at one of her cabinets.
"Oh my God!" RosÑ shout in horror which made the two panic a bit.
"What? Is there something wrong?" Jennie asked worriedly.
"I have no chips left!" The latter replied.
"Aish Park Chaeyoung. I thought there's something bad- WHAT? NO CHIPS?!" Jisoo quickly got up and went towards RosÑ's. She also searched the shelf but got nothing.
"What about at the kitchen?" Jisoo said which made RosÑ run downstairs quickly.
"Why are you guys acting like that?" Jennie asked with her eyebrows furrowed.
"Jennie. Movie night isn't complete if there's no chips!" Jisoo said.
Jennie just laughed at her and divert her attention at the window. She saw a blonde girl wearing a pink oversize sweater at the balcony of the house at the front. She squinted her eyes, trying to have a much clearer view. The blonde was holding a guitar and some of her hair was covering her face.
The girl slightly lift up her head which made Jennie's eyes widened.
"Lisa?" She muttered to herself.
"There also no chips at the kitchen!" RosÑ shouted as soon as she went back to her room. She's panting, seems like she really searched that hard.
"This is so bad." Jisoo said and massaged her temple.
"Is that Lisa?" Jennie said which caught their attention and made them quickly went towards the window.
"Oh. Yeah. That's her. Did I forgot to tell that we're neighbors?" The chipmunk replied.
"She doesn't look busy to me." Jennie said with a hint of sadness at her voice. RosÑ fell in silence, not knowing what excuse she would tell Jennie now.
Upon seeing Lisa, Jisoo suddenly came up with a bright idea that every each one of them will surely benefit.
"I got an idea!" She exclaimed.
The two girls are just staring at her, waiting for her to spill whatever she was thinking.
"If Lisa doesn't want to come with us, then we will just hang out at her place! We will get some free chips and Jennie, this will be your chance to finally talk to her." Jisoo said confidently.
"But-"
Jennie didn't get the chance to finish what is she about to say because RosÑ quickly pull her. They run towards the blonde girl house. Meanwhile, Lisa was too focus at playing her guitar, and the three of them arrived without her noticing.
RosÑ hurriedly knocked at the door which was opened by a woman at her nearly fifties.
"Good day Mrs. Manoban, is Lisa there?"
"Oh. Yes she's upstairs. Are you Lisa's friends?"
"Yes we are ma'am." Jisoo said.
"My daughter usually have a hard time talking to people. I'm glad she have friends here. Come on in."
The three girls went inside and was amused by the interior of the house. They were mesmerized by the refreshing vibe that this house is giving them. Mrs. Manoban's phone rang which made her excuse herself.
"I can live here forever." Jisoo whispered.
Mrs. Manoban came back after a few minutes with an apologetic look at her face.
"Girls? Do you mind if I'll leave the three of you here? I just need to go somewhere."
"No worries Mrs. Manoban." Jisoo said with a smile.
"Thank you. Oh, and made yourself comfortable. There are foods at the kitchen if you got hungry. And, Lisa is at the balcony I think. It was at the topmost floor, take the right door, and just tell her that I left already. I really need to go." Mrs. Manoban said.
As soon as Mrs. Manoban left, RosÑ and Jisoo quickly turned to Jennie with a knowing look at their faces.
"What on the earth are you thinking?" Jennie said.
"You know were Lisa is. Come on. This is your chance." Jisoo replied.
Jennie just nodded and the two quickly pushed her towards the stairs which made her stumbled a bit. She sent some deadly glares but just got a peace sign and a teasing smile from the two.
Jennie's POV
Damn those two. They will really do anything just to make me to talk to Lisa. Well, I asked them for help so I don't have the right to get annoyed right now.
I went to the topmost floor just like what Lisa's mom said. I was at the bottom of the stairs which leads toward the topmost floor when I'm hearing someone singing.
Small talk, no conversation
That look makes me impatient
I can't tell what you're thinkin'
Please tell me what you're thinkin'
Is that Lisa? I continued climbing up the stairs.
Last night we were more than fine
Just tell me if you change your mind
If you changed your mind
The voice was coming from the right door, I opened it as quiet as I could and there, I saw Lisa playing her guitar with her eyes closed.
'Cause I'm all, I'm all in
I'm callin', no answer
But you text me when you feel like
When it feels right to you
But I'm all, I'm all in
I'm fallin' faster
But if you're looking at me with a
Heart of doubt
Lisa's singing voice is so soothing to hear. I can feel her passion. I think I can listen to her voice forever.
Don't kiss me right now
Don't tell me that you need me
Don't show up at my house
All caught up in your feelings
Don't run me round and ro-
I was too absorbed by listening to Lisa not knowing that I was leaning at the door too much making it open widely. I quickly cursed myself for being clumsy, I haven't heard the full song yet because Lisa stopped singing as soon as the door made a creaking sound.
Lisa look at me with no expression. Her eyes are blank. I sent her an awkward smile, not knowing how I would start a conversation.
"What are you doing here?"
