Chapter 57
HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)
Lisa's POV
"Finally, hell week is over." I mumbled as soon as I woke up.
I let out a groan as I stretch my arm. It's been just a week since I last slept like this but it feels like I've been longing for a good sleep for a month. Speaking of longing, there's another thing that I was longing for. I'm miss having dates with my Nini. We've been busy this past few days. We haven't had a chance to go out since we need to prioritize our studies first before anything.
But now, since we have a day of rest, I should ask her to go out on a date with me. I'm pretty sure she also miss my annoying ass.
"Seriously?!" I said in a loud voice.
I was surprised when I took a glance at the clock on my bedside table. It's already twelve noon. I slept that long? My stomach suddenly made a sound. It's almost past lunchtime, I need to go downstairs and eat something.
I got out from my bed and do my daily routine. My eyes darted at Jennie's door as soon as I got out of my room. I'm wondering if that kitten had eaten already. I knock a few times but there's no one answering. That's when I decided to finally open the door of her room and took a peek. Who knows, Jennie might be still sleeping.
"Oh, she's not here." I mumbled to myself when I witnessed an empty room.
Jennie might be downstairs but the whole house seems like a little bit quiet. I went downstairs and I was right, the whole house seems empty. I went back upstairs hoping that either Jisoo or Rosé are in their rooms.
I went first at Jisoo's room but before I was able to knock on her door, I was distracted by the sound of a guitar coming from my chipmunk's room.
"Come in!" Rosé yelled when she heard me knocking. "Finally, you're awake." Rosé said and put aside her pink guitar when she saw me entered her room.
"Have you eaten already?" I asked.
"Not yet. I'm waiting for you to wake up. Actually, I'm on the verge of pouring you some cold water." Rosé said with a smirk. I stared at her in awe and acted like I was hurt.
"How rude." I said. Rosé giggle and went off her bed. She pulled me by the hand, this girl must be really quite hungry.
"Whoa. Who made all of this?" I said when I found a lots of delicious dishes patiently waiting on the table.
"Jennie's mom came over earlier and cooked all of this." She pulled out a chair and flopped herself into it as she stare hungrily at those foods. I chuckled and I took a sit right in front of her.
"If you're awake when Jennie's mom came over, why didn't you eat earlier with them?"
"I wanted to give them a mother and daughter time so I just stayed in my room."
"Ah. Is that so? Anyway, where's Jennie?"
"She left probably with her mom."
"And your girlfriend?"
"She still has some exams today."
"It sucks being an engineering student."
"Can we just eat already? I'm hungry, Lalisa."
I giggled and raised both of my hands as a sign of me surrendering. You can't really disturb Rosé when it comes to food.
--
After me and Rosé ate our lunch, we went to our own rooms. I've been scrolling whole day while I'm waiting for Jennie to come back. But it's already three and still there's no sight of Jennie. Well, she's with her mom anyway. Maybe we can have a date some other time.
But there's something bothering me that I was trying to shake off for a while. Whenever I'm alone, it always crosses my mind. I need to let this out or else I might ended up being crazy.
I went straight to Rosé's room and saw that she's playing her guitar again. She was too indulge on strumming her guitar that she didn't noticed that I was already entering her room.
"What the hell?" Rosé yelled when I suddenly flopped myself beside her. She put aside the guitar and faced me with those glary eyes.
"What do you think you're doing here?" She said.
"I'm bored. Why? Can't I barge in to your room now just because you're already taken?" I squinted my eyes.
"Yes. Jisoo might get jealous and beat the shit out of the both us." Rosé said in a joking manner.
"Whatever." I said and rest my head onto her thigh.
I stared at the ceiling silently as those thoughts started to run through my mind again.
"What are you thinking?" Rosé asked while brushing my hair with her hand.
"Nothing. I was just admiring how beautiful the ceiling is." I answered which earned me a loud smack on the forehead from her that made me jolted in pain.
"Stop with those silly jokes monkey. I knew that there's something going on right in that mind of yours." She said.
"You already knew me that much huh?" I chuckled.
"Of course. Now, would you tell me what's going on?"
"Well, I think there's something wrong with Jennie or maybe I'm just imagining things."
"What do you mean?"
"Jennie is at her usual self whenever we're at home but when we go out, I feel like there some invisible barrier existing right between us. Like, when we were walking last Tuesday at the park, with our fingers intertwined to each other. She then saw a bunch of people coming towards our way that immediately made her let go of my hand. I don't know if it's just me but it happened a dozen of times."
"Since when did it all started?"
"Since when we encountered some judgmental people when we're on our way home. Do you think there's something wrong?" I looked up on her.
"You're just stressed lately and you started imagining things." She said.
"Am I?"
"Yes. Jennie loves you so much. I can't see a reason why she would do such a thing."
"Yeah. Probably." I said and get off the bed. "Want to grab some coffee?"
"Only if you'll pay." Rosé said and smiled at me cutely. I rolled my eyes, I already knew that she's going to say that.
"Fine. Do I even have a choice?"

Third Person's POV
Jennie felt happy because the years that had been full of anger and hatred was now being slowly replaced by the happy and sweet memories that she's trying to build with her mother.
The feline was supposed to introduce Lisa to her mother as her girlfriend but the tall girl is still sleeping when her Mom came over. She doesn't want to bother Lisa because she knew how tired she is because of the hell week. So Jennie decided not to wake her up.
After Jennie's mom do some of her wonderful cooking, she ask Jennie if she can go to the mall with her since she needs to buy some stuff before she went back to the hospital. Jennie didn't hesitate to agree with what her Mom wants.
Jennie wants to talk about her Mom's lover but she thinks that this might not be the right time. She wants her mom to be the first to initiate the talking.
When her Mom finally bought the stuffs that she needed, her mom bid goodbye since she can't stay too much longer. She's cherishing every minute with her lover before she finally leaves this world. Jennie understands that so she gave her Mom a one last hug since she don't know when will they see each other again.
Jennie was already on her way home when she bumped into someone. And that someone was no other than, Mino.
"Hey, Jennie. Can we talk?" Mino said.
Jennie leave the guy and continue walking on her way back home but Mino was too stubborn. He kept on following the feline which clearly made her annoyed. Jennie wish that Mina or anyone will show up right now to save her.
"Please Jennie, just give me five minutes. I just want to talk to you." Mino pleaded.
Jennie huffed in annoyance. "Fine. Just five minutes." She said. She clearly knew that Mino wouldn't stop bothering her and besides, they're just going to talk.
But the five minutes turned into an hour. The two of them suddenly exchange laughter with each other. The feline thinks that Mino might be a good friend after all.
Rosé and Lisa were on their way to grab some coffee. The blonde was happily telling some random stories to her friend as they walk towards the nearest café.
Rosé ordered a bunch of stuffs which Lisa already expected. And as what she promised, of course, she will be the one paying.
Lisa took some time to roam her eyes around the café. She was mesmerized by the interior designs that sends a cozy and relaxing vibes. But her eyes suddenly froze on one spot.
"Let's go." Rosé said when their order finally came.
"Chimpunk." Lisa said, still looking at a certain direction. Rosé just hummed in response while looking at the latter.
"I thought Jennie was with her mom." Lisa said.
"Yes. She is. I saw her left the house earlier together with her mom." Rosé answered.
"Then why is she there, laughing with that asshole?" Lisa coldly said.
Rosé slowly followed Lisa's gaze and gasped in surprise when she confirmed that Jennie was really there. Having some coffee and talking with Mino. It looks like they're enjoying themselves.
"Yah. Lisa!" Rosé said when she saw Lisa walking towards their direction.
Jennie's laugh slowly died when she noticed that someone was standing right in front of her table. She quickly stood up as her eyes widened in surprise.
"L-Lili." Jennie said, her reaction can tell how surprise she is. Rosé stood right beside Lisa, worrying what might happened next.
"I thought you're with your Mom. What are you doing here?" Lisa said. Her voice was cold which definitely send shiver down towards Jennie's spine.
"Can't you see? We're having a moment here." Mino butted in.
"Shut up. I'm not talking to you." Lisa said and looked at Mino with those deadly eyes of hers.
"Lisa." Jennie mumbled which earned back Lisa's attention.
"What are you doing here?" Lisa asked once again. Now, anger is evident in her voice.
"I-I bumped into Mino-"
"And you didn't even tell me? Not even care to send me a message? I was waiting for you the whole fucking day." Lisa gritted her teeth, trying her best not to risen up the tone of her voice.
"Chill. Why are you so mad?" Mino said, he was now confused on what's happening.
"You didn't tell him?" Lisa said.
"Tell what? What's going on between the two of you?" Mino said.
"Come on, tell him Jennie." Lisa answered.
Jennie started to fidget her fingers. She then look around and saw how people stares at them with those judgmental eyes and how they started whispering to each other. Her breathing suddenly became ragged, she feel suffocated.
Lisa saw everything on what's happening to Jennie. And she fully understand why she's acting like that after that day. Jennie don't want to be judged by other people, she was paying too much attention on what other people would say to them.
The tall girl wanted to understand what Jennie is feeling right now. But she just can't, it's unfair for her. Unfair because she wanted to let the whole world know about the love that they're sharing. Lisa doesn't care what other people might say as long as Jennie belongs to her.
Lisa waited for a few minutes for Jennie to speak up but that didn't happened. She took a deep breathe and bit her lip to stop herself from bursting her emotions.
"Okay. I get it." Lisa said and smiled painfully.
Jennie opened her mouth but she can't utter a single word. Her fear and anxiety had dominated her entire system. Her eyes met Lisa's and guilt quickly ate her up as she saw how hurt the tall girl is.
Lisa left the feline dumbfounded.
She knew to herself that she had enough.
Rosé felt pity towards her best friend and at she also want to console Jennie at the same time. She don't know why Jennie is acting up like that but she's sure that her love for Lisa is real.
The blonde decided to chose her best friend since Lisa was the one who is the most affected in this situation. She was worried that Lisa might get back to her old self. She exited the café, hoping that the nightmares that once disturb her won't come back. The last thing that Rosé wanted to happen is Lisa crying at her arms in the middle of the night. Just like what exactly happened before.
"Lisa wait up!" Rosé said and followed Lisa.
Jennie came back into her senses when she heard Rosé shouted. She quickly took her things and decided to follow Lisa. Judging by Lisa's eyes, Jennie knew that she totally fucked up everything once again.
"Where are you going?" Mino said but Jennie didn't pay attention to him.
When Jennie got out of the café, a loud screeching sound was heard. And then, the horror of her past suddenly flashed back. The image of her brother, covered with his own blood was the last thing that appeared to her mind.
Lisa can definitely hear Rosé calling her name repeatedly but she was too angry to look back. All she wanted right now is some time alone. She thought that her relationship with Jennie will finally went smoothly but all this time, she was wrong indeed.
When Lisa heard the same loud screeching sound, she instantly stopped and looked back. Her mouth agape, as her eyes mirrored fear.
"No." She mumbled to herself before running back.
