Chapter 49

HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)

Lisa's POV

"Curse that kitten." I mumbled.

I still can't believe that Jennie had just deceived me. She clearly told me that she will tell me her name if I buy her an ice cream. I bought her like three cups of ice cream yesterday but all I got in return was a thank you! I tried to talk to her about the deal that we made but she acted like she doesn't know about it.

"I shouldn't have bought her that ice cream." I said to myself as I stomped my way towards the library. I don't feel like going to classes today and besides, my professor on today's subject seems like he doesn't know what he's teaching about. So it's much better to ditch classes than to stay there for hours and listen to him talk about his life which clearly has nothing to do with the subject.

The library is the quietest place throughout the university that made it a perfect spot to take a nap. I wasn't really fond of reading such books unless I need to.

I pushed the library door opened and the relaxing aura instantly came in. I breathed deeply, inhaling the scent of new and old books that lingers throughout the room.

I walked towards the rightmost corner of the library which is the most secluded place here. There isn't a lot of students that is coming to this direction so if you want to take a nap, this would be the best spot. No one can disturb you and you're far from the librarian's sight who is always scolding those students that only go here to sleep.

But to my surprise, there's already someone who is occupying that certain spot of mine. And it wasn't just a student, it was that cute girl again!

Lucky.

A wide smile crept upon my face. I looked around the room, trying to spot Jennie, she might jumped in and ruin my plan. I can't let that happen once again.

I walk slowly and carefully towards where the cute girl was sitting. I did all of my best not to scare her but she still got startled when I pulled the chair right in front of her.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." I said and smile apologetically. I took a sit, and she put down the book that she's reading on the table.

"It's fine. I'm just that type of person who can easily get startled." She smiled at me. A smile that sent a giddy feeling right down at my stomach.

"Is Jennie with you?" I asked to be sure. Who knows, that kitten might be lurking around somewhere, waiting for a perfect timing.

"Why are you asking me that? She's your girlfriend, you're supposed to know where she is." She said which taken me aback.

"What girlfriend? You mean, Jennie?"

"Yeah. Aren't you and Jennie a thing? Or it was just me who thinks that you guys have something?"

I chuckled at the thought of Jennie being my girlfriend. "No. We're only friends. Best friends rather. Jennie is straight so there is no reason that her and I will be together." I said.

"Straight? Really huh?" She said with a sly smirk. What was that smirk about?

"Anyway, I'm Lisa." I confidently introduced myself and reach out my hand.

"Nice meeting you Lisa, I'm Mina." She replied with a bright smile and held my hand for a shake. Damn, her hand is so soft that it makes me want not to let go. Can I just hold it forever?

"Why are you here? You and Jennie have the same class right? Did you ditch too?"

"We don't have the same schedule every Wednesday. My classes has already ended. What do you mean by "too"? You ditched class?"

I scratched my nape and said, "Yeah. I did."

"Ooh. Such a troublemaker." Mina said.

"It's better to ditch class than to sit there for hours listening about my professor's nonsense stories." I said which made her burst out in laughter. Mina quickly covered her mouth when she noticed that there are some students who are giving us some deadly glares.

I leaned forward and whispered, "I'm telling the truth." Mina hit my arm playfully and called me silly while flashing her bright smile. I really like it when she's smiling like that.

"Anyway, is this where you always go after class?" I asked.

"Yup. Reading books takes my stress away." Mina answered.

"Want to go somewhere new?"

Mina squinted her eyes. "Are you asking me out on a date, Lisa?" She asked in a playful manner.

I pursed my lips together before saying, "If that's what it looks like, then yes, I'm asking you out."

"And where are you taking me?"

"There's a café around. The ambiance there is perfect for reading."

"Oh. A coffee date?"

"Yep. So? Want to come with me? My treat, don't worry."

"Who can't say no to a free coffee?"

Third Person's POV

Lisa can't tell how much happy she is right now. Finally, she already knew what her name is and making her yes to a date is a bonus.

She pushed the door for Mina which made the latter blushed a little. Mina likes how Lisa is being caring to her. She's not that dense, Mina clearly knew that Lisa is interested to her and her feeling towards the tall girl is mutual.

Actually, she had her eyes on Lisa since the first time that they bumped each other. She just can't approach her because she's shy and even Jennie won't tell her, she can see the way how the feline look at Lisa.

Mina wants to reject when Lisa asked her out but seeing how excited she is, made Mina to felt guilty. She don't want to see Lisa lose that smile so she decided to say yes.

Lisa ordered a two cups of cappuccino. One for her, and one for the latter. The tall girl decided to take this chance to get to know Mina much better. Not knowing that she's forgetting something or let's just say, someone.

Jennie's class just ended, she fished out her phone from her pocket and saw that she receive a message coming from Jisoo.

The feline just shook her head and smiled as she put back her phone inside her pocket. She clearly knew that it was Rosé's fault why they're at the mall right now. Probably, the chipmunk crave for something and drag Jisoo all along.

Jennie went outside of the building with furrowed eyebrows. She can't see Lisa anywhere. She thought that maybe her class extended for a bit so she decided to wait for her.

Thirty minutes have passed and still, there's no Lisa coming which made Jennie anxious. There are some thoughts running throughout her mind that Lisa might forget about her or maybe Lisa is still mad at her because she didn't follow their deal.

Lisa offered to walk Mina home which has been politely rejected by the latter. But Lisa, being a stubborn girl, she still follow Mina until they arrived at the bus stop.

"I told you, you don't have to do this." Mina said.

"I just want you to go home safely." Lisa answered.

"You're such a sweet girl." Lisa blushed a little which made Mina let out a soft giggle. "Oh, here's the bus." She added.

Lisa was about to stepped inside the bus when Mina stopped her. "And where do you think you're going?" She said.

Lisa took some retreating steps and raised both of her hands. "Okay. I won't come with you. I'll just stay here."

"Good girl." Mina said and pat Lisa's head playfully before going inside the bus.

"Just text me when you got home okay? Take care!"

Mina smile and sent an "okay" sign to the latter using her hand. Lisa smiled genuinely as her eyes follow the bus. She can't wipe her smile off until she heard her phone chime.

"Shit." She cursed when she read Jennie's message. Lisa quickly ran back towards the university. She clearly forgot about Jennie.

Jennie was tapping her right foot impatiently. It's been fifteen minutes since she texted Lisa but still, she hasn't come around. She glanced repeatedly at her phone, waiting for Lisa's response.

"Waiting for someone?" Mino suddenly showed up in front of Jennie which made the feline rolled her eyes. Everything about this guy is annoying her, even if he's just breathing.

"It's none of your business." Jennie said.

"Or you must be waiting for me?" Mino said and wiggled his eyebrows.

Jennie scoffed in disgust. "You're full of yourself." She said.

The feline's phone chimed which made her almost jumped in excitement. But that feeling instantly disappeared when she saw Lisa's message.

"I see. You forgot about me." Jennie muttered to herself and put back her phone inside her pocket. She get her bag and started walking home.

The feline was trying her best not to be irritated but she can't help it especially when she hear someone following her from behind. Jennie stopped her tracks and turned around.

"Can you stop following me?" She said and raised one of her eyebrows.

"Why? Can't I walk you home?" Mino said.

"Of course. You can't." Jennie said and continue walking but Mino was still following her, which made her groaned in annoyance.

"Chill. I'm not going to do anything. I just want to assure that you will go home safely." Mino said who is now walking side by side with her. Jennie just rolled her eyes and ignored the latter since she can't do anything about his stubbornness. Mino keeps on trying to start a conversation even though Jennie doesn't seem to be interested.

"Jennie!" Lisa shouted when she finally saw her best friend. "I thought you're still at the university. I'm sorry for making you wait. Let's go?" Lisa said.

"There's no need to do that. I'm walking her home." Mino interrupted which made Lisa burst out in laughter.

"Of course, Jennie's going home with me." Lisa answered back.

Jennie can't stand staying with them for a few more minutes so she decided to go ahead. She's still annoyed by the fact that she waited for several minutes just to know that Lisa had just forget about her.

Mino saw that Jennie walk ahead so he tried to follow her but he was stopped by Lisa's tight grip on his arm.

"I told you, she's going home with me." Lisa said in a cold voice.

"And why would she? Is Jennie your girlfriend?" Mino said, lifting his lips up to form a smirk.

"No. But we're living in the same house." Lisa tap Mino's back before following Jennie, leaving the guy dumbfounded.

"Jennie wait!" Lisa called but it just made Jennie's pace fasten. The tall girl run towards her until she caught up. "I said wait." She added. Jennie just scoffed and continued walking.

"Are you mad?" Lisa asked.

Jennie stopped and took a deep breath before facing her. "No. I'm not mad. You just made me wait for fucking forty-five minutes. Why would I be mad?" Jennie said and smile sarcastically.

"You know you can go home by yourself. No one even told you to wait for me."

Lisa's words hit Jennie so hard. She gulped a lump forming on her throat and gritted her teeth so that she can't show any unnecessary emotions. Jennie realized that Lisa was right, no one told her to wait but she did it. She can freely go home by herself but still she chose to wait for her.

"And no one told you to run all the way back here." Jennie fired back.

"You said you're waiting."

"Because you didn't tell me that I'm going to wait for nothing. You should have gave me a heads up that- fuck! Never mind." Jennie turned her back towards Lisa knowing that she will explode in anger anytime.

"Just go back there and enjoy your date with Mina." Jennie said and walked away.

Lisa quickly pulled her back by her wrist which made Jennie surprised. She almost lose her balance with Lisa's sudden move but the tall girl was quick enough to hold her waist for support. Jennie can clearly hear the loud beating of her heart. She can feel that she's drowning right into Lisa's stare. Those brown orbs of her are staring deep down in her eyes as if she's reading her entire soul.

"Are you jealous?" Lisa blurted which made Jennie snapped back into reality. Her mind went in daze, not knowing if she's going to answer it honestly or not.

Jennie used her strength to push Lisa away, enough for her to escape and successfully walk away. She thought that Lisa won't even care if she's jealous.

"You already moved on. There's no point answering that question." Jennie thought to herself.
