Chapter 41
HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)
Jennie's POV
I'm currently on my way towards Lisa's house. Hanbin kept on bugging me to have a date with him which almost pushed me to the edge. I've told the girls to go ahead and I will deal with his tantrums.
Hanbin and I decided to have a quick lunch together since both of us have bunch of stuffs lined up that we needed to finish before this week ends. I talked to him, no, more like scolded him for throwing tantrums earlier.
I explained to him that it's very inappropriate to act like that since he knew that both of us are busy and has other priorities to put first. He said that he just missed me that's why he really wants to go out with me. So to stop him from whining, I just agreed and dragged him. But the weird thing is, I don't feel anything but annoyance. My heart was supposed to race since the person that I like told me that he misses me but that's not what happened. Now, I'm starting to question my feeling towards him.
I was very much occupied with my thoughts, I didn't notice that I bumped into someone. I quickly bowed, and apologize to the person that I bumped into. But when I lifted up my head, I was surprised when I saw who I bumped into. The eyes of that person mirrored horror and shock, he quickly bowed and walk away from me. But then, he stopped when he heard me calling his name.
"Kai!" I yelled. He slowly turn around to face me and let out an awkward smile.
"Coffee?" I asked with my most genuine smile. I saw how his eyes widened in surprise and how his head slowly nodded in agreement.
I led our way towards the nearest café and Kai followed even though he was confused as hell. There's an awkward silence between us which I decided to break by faking a cough.
"So, how have you been?" I asked while playing with the cup of coffee in front of me.
"I'm fine. How about you? It's been a while Jen." He said with an almost shaky voice.
"Yeah. It's been a while." I said and sent out a small smile. Silence fills up the atmosphere around us for the second time. Damn, this is so awkward. I can't even pull myself together so that I can say what my reason of this sudden invitation is.
"Are you..." He paused, making me to lift my head up and meet his nervous eyes.
"Are you still mad at me? At Kyung-soo?" He asked. I purse my lips together and take a deep breath.
"You don't have to ans-"
"I'm not mad anymore. Everything is in the past." I said. I heard him let out a sigh of relief which made me internally chuckle.
"I'm glad that you already forgave us. I still want to apologize for cheating, and for me being..." He was hesitant to say the last word which I clearly knew what it is.
"No, you don't need to be sorry for being gay. I can't do anything if you're really like that. I should be the one apologizing to you. I'm sorry Kai for hating and being disgusted just because you like the same gender."
"Whoa. What happened to the homophobic Jennie? Are you sick?" Kai joked.
"Yah. Don't act like we're friends already. You still cheated with my best buddy." I said which made him frowned.
"But if you promise that you won't do the same thing to him, then you're forgiven." I said with a teasing smile. I saw how his face brightened.
"I love him so much that I can't about doing that awful thing."
"Great. Or I might beat you up to death." I said and show him my fist. Kai just shook his head and laugh.
"How is he anyway?" I asked.
"He's fine. They move to Seoul last week."
"Really? Then you must be sad."
"No. I'm going to Seoul right after graduation. We will be going to college together." He said with a hint of giddiness on his voice. I even saw him bow down a little to hide the blushing tint on his face. This man in front of me is really whipped.
We talk for I don't know how long. The café was filled with our laughs and voices. I even saw some customers that spare us some annoyed glances but we just ignored them and continue catching up.
"Do you mind if I ask you something?" I said.
"No. What is it?"
"How did you know that you were gay?"
"I just felt it. My heart spoke."
"Yah. Can't you give me a much clear explanation?"
"Why? Are you about to join us?" Kai said wearing a mischievous smirk.
"N-No! I-I'm currently dating a guy, just so you knew."
"But are you happy with him?" He said which made me lose by ability to speak. I felt my throat became dry so I quickly took a sip on my drink. I heard Kai chuckled which made my eyes roll.
"I should leave. I still have some stuff to do. Thank you for your time Kai." I said and stand up. I was about to walk away when I felt Kai grabbed my wrist. I saw him looking at me, still wearing that annoying smirk of him.
"Is it that girl? The one who I saw you with, last time."
"W-What?"
"The tall blonde." He said.
I felt my heart thump loudly. I already knew who she was pertaining to. She's the only tall blonde that I hangout. Kai smirk grew wider when he saw how I reacted. I abruptly pull my hand away from his grip and stormed out the café. I even heard him yelled something.
"Your eyes can't lie Jennie!"

Third Person's POV
"Finally! No more late nights!" Rosé exclaimed as she raise both of her hands up in the air.
Jennie giggled when she saw the chipmunk. Lisa put down the box that she's been holding and faced the two.
"Yah. Clean faster, Ms. Moonbyul wants us back by 2pm." Lisa said and put the other stuffs inside the box that she's holding.
They were currently cleaning the booth that they used earlier for the science fair. The hard work, the late nights, and their efforts paid off. The robot that they made got the first place. It was supposed to be by pair only but with the charm of Rosé, she effortlessly convinced Ms. Moonbyul, their teacher, to let it slide and let them as a group of four.
The girls did not make just one robot but four, which explains why Ms. Moonbyul let it slide. The first one was a robot that can be controlled by human gestures, the other one can be controlled using human voice, and the third one can be controlled using a Bluetooth control and lastly, a robot that can follow humans.
Many guests, students and even the teachers were amazed on how a bunch of teenagers had an idea and skills to do such difficult thing. But the main reason why they became so interested is on how Rosé explained clearly what the function of those robots is.
"Ooh. Do we have a grumpy Lisa out here?" Rosé teased which was clearly ignored by the tall blonde. She was focused on cleaning their booth since she has this strong urge to go home and take a good sleep.
"Where's Jisoo anyway?" Jennie asked when she noticed that it was only the three of them who is cleaning.
Lisa roamed her eyes throughout the venue and look for the girl. She saw Jisoo, meters away from them, playing with the robots that they made.
"There she is." She said. Jennie and Rosé looked at where Lisa is pointing.
The three of them can't help but to let out a smile when they saw how happy Jisoo is.
"She's really happy with those things." Jennie said.
"Well, it's her dream to make her own robot." Rosé said.
"You seem like you knew everything about Jisoo." Lisa said innocently. Rosé throat became dry and quickly turn around to hide her blushing cheeks.
"Move faster! Ms. Moonbyul is waiting." Rosé said which made Jennie and Lisa exchange confused looks.
--
"Everyone is here?" Ms. Moonbyul said as her eyes quickly scan each of the student. When she was finally sure that no one is missing, she clasped her hands together and started to speak enthusiastically.
"First of all, I want to congratulate the students that got the first place. Let's give them a round of applause!" She said. The girls bowed down and smile shyly, their way of saying thank you. "And another round of applause for yourselves who spent a lot of their time and effort." She added. The claps and cheers echoed throughout their classroom.
"Okay, I know that you guys want to go home already so I will just make this short. We will be having our annual tour for senior students tomorrow. And we're going to Jeju! We will stay there for a week." Ms. Moonbyul said excitedly and once again, cheers coming from the excited students.
"We will be meeting at the school grounds at exactly 7am. Don't be late or we will leave you behind. That's all. Have a good day everyone!" She said and leave the classroom.
"So, where are we going to celebrate?" Rosé said excitedly and clung to Lisa's arm as they walk along the hallway.
"How about we do our usual movie marathon? It's been a while since we do that." Jisoo suggested and put her arms around Jennie's shoulder.
"Yah. You're really using your brain this days." Lisa teased the smaller girl which earned her a flick on her forehead. They were in the middle of having fun when someone interrupted causing Lisa to crease her eyebrows.
"Jennie wait!" Hanbin said. He stopped in front of the surprised feline, wearing that sweet smile of him.
"Congratulations!" He said and pulled Jennie for a hug. Lisa scoffed at the scene that she saw.
"T-thank you." Jennie said as she slowly pull away.
"So, can we go out? We need to celebrate!"
Jennie stare at Hanbin first and saw how excited the guy is. She thought that it would made him feel bad if she will reject him but when her eyes flicker towards her friends, she saw Lisa already staring at her with disbelief. The blonde knew that she would pick the guy over them so she silently pulled her two friends away from the couple.
"I'm sorry Hanbin but I'm celebrating with the girls tonight. We can go out next time okay?" Jennie said and run towards her friends were staring at her with amusement.
"I thought you're going to choose him again." Jisoo said.
"Let's go?" Jennie show her famous gummy smile and clung to Jisoo's arm. Her eyes darted towards Lisa and saw how the blonde smile at her which made her heart started to beat rapidly.
--
"So, what movie are we going to watch?" The chipmunk said and sat comfortably at the couch.
"Why do we keep using my house as our hang out place?" Lisa said and flopped herself beside Rosé.
"Your house was the biggest among the four of us and there's nothing you can do about it." Jisoo said which made the blonde groan in annoyance.
"What about Disney?" Jennie suggested with her gummy smile. Rosé squealed when she heard the word Disney but it didn't last long when Lisa protested.
"Nope! No Disney." She said.
"What a bummer." Jennie said and rolled her eyes which made the blonde gasped.
"Go Rosé, play whatever you want." Jisoo said and hand over the remote control to the chipmunk.
Lisa look at her with disbelief and the two of them started bickering.
"Wait. There's something I want to ask." Jisoo said. She diverted her attention towards the feline who is waiting for her question.
"Tomorrow is our school tour right? So you and Hanbin are going to be official? That's what you said before though." Jisoo asked innocently.
Lisa's smile faltered and the laughter that once filled the living room was replaced by a deafening silence. Jennie's breath hitched, she almost forgot that thing. Her pupils quiver as she try to think an appropriate answer.
"I'll get some drinks." Lisa excused herself, not wanting to hear the feline's answer.
Rosé quickly went towards Jisoo and scolded her for being dense.
