Chapter 35

Third Person's POV

"Jennie."

"Earth to Jennie?"

"JENNIE FREAKING KIM!"

Rosѐ screamed at the top of her lungs earning the half of the student's attention around the cafeteria. When the chipmunk noticed that they are looking at her with those judgmental eyes, she quickly bow down and smiled apologetically.

"Why are you screaming?" Hearing Jennie talk, Rosѐ quickly face the feline and send her an "are you kidding me look".

"What? What do you want?" Jennie asked.

"Can you please not murder your salad in front of me? Gosh. If you're not going to eat it, then let me." The red-haired girl said and rolled her eyes in annoyance

Jennie looked down and was surprised that her salad became mess that it almost look like it's inedible. She smiled apologetically to the food lover.

"Jisoo, what the hell is wrong with this kitten?" Rosѐ said annoyingly. She can't really stand anyone who has no values for food.

"Let her be chipmunk. That usually happens when you're jealous." Jisoo said and send a smug smirk towards the feline which made Jennie put down her fork loudly and stood up. And for the second time, their group earned so much attention.

Jennie slowly went back to her seat while Jisoo can't help but to giggle. The feline send deadly glares towards the girl in front of her but Jisoo's laugh didn't falter.

"How many times should I tell you that I'm not fucking jealous?" Jennie crossed her arms and huff.

"How many times should I tell you that I'm not fucking jealous?" Jisoo imitate the feline's voice in an annoying way which made Jennie to almost threw her salad right onto her face.

"Wait a minute. Can you please enlighten me? Because I freaking don't know a thing." Rosѐ said. Jisoo cleared her throat before started telling what happened earlier.

Ever since the whole campus heard about the news that their ace dancer is gay, a lot of girls started to swarm around Lisa. They're giving them gifts, love letters and even asking her for dates. But Lisa, being herself, she politely rejected each one of them.

That was the scene every morning that Jennie has to witness. Every time that she took her first step inside the campus, all she can hear are screams and squeal coming from them which signs that Lisa has arrived. Even when she was about to get something in her locker, she can't escape the same type of scene since Lisa's locker are just in front of her.

"You should have seen Jennie's face earlier. She was holding her pencil tightly as if it's about to break anytime." Jisoo said and they burst out in laughter not minding the angry kitten in front of them.

"Well, technically, if really you are jealous-"

"Which is clearly not, Park Chaeyoung."

"Can you at least let me finish?" Rosѐ said annoyingly. Jennie lifted her both hands up.

"Thank you." Rosѐ replied sarcastically. "So as what I'm saying, you Jennie Kim have no right to be jealous." Jennie was about to say something but Rosѐ quickly lifted her left hand, telling that she's not yet done. Rosѐ leaned closer to the feline and rested her elbows right above the table. She rested her chin above her hands and look at Jennie seriously.

"You pushed her away. Telling how you hated her so much. So don't tell me that you have some audacity to feel something like this." Rosѐ said. The look on her face and the tone of her voice brought tension to the feline who is now trembling in fear.

"Yah. Rosie. I didn't thought that you're so hot when you're angry." Jisoo said which made Rosѐ look down in embarrassment. Her serious face became a blushing mess but knowing that Jennie was right in front of them, she quickly masked it by irritation and smack Jisoo's arm repeatedly.

"Did I scare you?" Rosѐ asked Jennie when she noticed how the feline became unusually quiet. Jennie was just looking at her, not knowing what she would say. Jennie flinched when she felt Rosѐ held her hand.

"I didn't mean to scare you, well maybe a bit. We understand that you have some issue about her sexuality but hating Lisa and spitting those hurtful words is way out of the line Jen. Tell me, did Lisa ever do something to hurt you?"

Every words of Rosѐ struck Jennie straight right into her heart. The pitiful face of Lisa back then instantly flash right into her mind. Jennie felt a pang of guilt, it's true that Lisa did nothing but to care and be there for her when she was needed. Even though she would hurt the blonde without knowing it, Lisa never stayed mad to her for too long.

"Not all gays are like you mom. You need to let go of that hurtful past of yours or unless it would haunt you for the rest of your life." Jisoo blurted.

"Wow Jisoo, are you sick?" Rosѐ said and act like she was surprised. Jisoo pouted and pinch Rosѐ's cheeks as revenge.

"You know what Jennie, you need to make up your mind before it's too late." Jisoo said which made the feline confused.

"Late for what?"

"Late for the next subject. Come on!" Jisoo said and pulled the two girls back to their classroom.

The trio entered the classroom and giggles from Lisa and Nayeon who are happily talking to each other greeted them. Every lunch, Lisa decided to hang out with Nayeon rather than forcing herself to face Jennie. Which is clearly understood by the duo. They thought that it would be a nice head start for her moving on.

Jennie felt a pang of pain when she saw how wide Lisa's smile is which is once, she was the reason. She don't know why but ever since she witness how the two exchange that kiss, her heart started to feel these mixed emotions that is slowly driving away her sanity.

"Make up your mind." Jisoo whispered to the feline before walking towards her seat.

By then, Jennie understood what Jisoo mean earlier. She need to find the answer why is she feeling like this. She needs to figure out everything as soon as possible.

"Hey babe."

Jennie cringe at what Hanbin called her. He's been starting to use pet names after her birthday which is clearly unusual to her. Jennie just smiled at him and went towards her seat. The feline flickered her eyes towards the direction where Lisa is seating. The bright smile of the blonde melted her heart which is instantly replaced by annoyance when she saw that Lisa's holding Nayeon's hand underneath the table.

Lisa felt a burning gaze which made her turn in reflex. The blonde furrowed her eyebrows as she met Jennie's eyes who is telling something that she can't read. There staring moment lasted for a few minutes until she felt Nayeon's thumb grazing at the back of her hand. Her eyes went back to Nayeon and mouthed an apology.

Meanwhile, Jennie was also caught up in her own world. When Lisa caught her staring, instead of quickly turning away, she let herself drown into those dark brown orbs of hers. Seeing Lisa looked away from her made her disappointed.

"Hey Jennie."

Jennie went back to reality and looked at the guy beside her who has been calling her for a few times.

"Yes? You saying something?"

"I said. Can I take you out for lunch tomorrow?"

"I promised Rosѐ and Jisoo that I'll be having lunch with them."

"Again? Okay." Hanbin said sadly. His elbows sagged and sighed in defeat. Jennie felt guilty, it's been a while since her and Hanbin have some dates. She keeps on rejecting his offer and keep on sticking to ChaeSoo.

"But maybe I can pass this time."

Hanbin lifted up his head and the brightness on his face came back. He smiled at Jennie which made the latter realized something. Seeing that bright smile of him used to make her feel butterflies in her stomach, but lately, Jennie hasn't been feeling anything at all.

"You're watching me dance again later right?" Hanbin reminded her. The dance crew started their practice to defend their title again.

"Yeah. Sure." Jennie said. Their teacher came in which is a perfect timing for Jennie to distract herself from the thoughts that she's having. Hanbin, on the other hand, was left looking at her. He can feel that something has changed between them but he's still oblivious about what it is.

"So, seat her and relax. Focus your eyes on me okay?" Hanbin said and smiled lovingly before planting a kiss on Jennie's forehead. The feline nodded and made herself comfortable.

The music has started and just as what Hanbin told her, she focused her eyes to him. But as minutes passed by, she started to feel bored. Seeing Hanbin dance is not that exciting for her to watch anymore. Jennie then decided to scan the other members.

A certain blonde made Jennie's eye stuck to her like glue. Unlike Hanbin, seeing Lisa dance still made her feel excited and proud at the same time. Her heart started to race as she follows every Lisa's moves.

"What the fuck?" Jennie internally cursed herself as she rub her chest in circles, trying to calm the racing heart of hers.

Jennie was so indulged on watching Lisa dance that she didn't noticed that the music has already ended. Seeing the members taking a break, Jennie grabbed the towel and water bottle beside her. And out of reflex, she started to walk towards Lisa's direction.

Jennie's heart jumped a little when she saw Lisa smiling at her. The blonde started to walk nearer to her, and everything went into slow motion. She was once again melted by that bright smile that she can never get tired of seeing.

But her sweet imagination suddenly shattered when Lisa walked passed by her. And when she turned around, she saw that Nayeon was behind her, also walking towards the blonde. She hung her head low due to embarrassment and walk straight towards Hanbin who luckily is at the same place where Lisa came from.

"Did I really expect that she's coming to me?" Jennie thought which was followed by a dry chuckle.

Jennie gave the water bottle to the guy who is smiling widely and waited for her patiently. She lifted up the towel and started wiping those beads of sweat. Hanbin's heart fluttered but it quickly disappear when he noticed that Jennie was looking at somewhere else. She may be taking care of her right now, but her eyes were not on him which made curious.

Hanbin decided to check where Jennie was looking and saw that the eyes of the girl he love was fixed towards the other couple which is few inches away from them. With full of confusion, Hanbin's eyes started to flicker back and forth from Jennie to Lisa. A thought crossed his mind which is too scary for him to believe, so he decided to ignore it.

He grabbed Jennie's hand which made the feline flinched and divert her eyes towards him.

"I'm here Jennie. What are you looking at?" Hanbin said and tried to smile as wide as he can.

"Nothing." Jennie smiled weakly.
