Chapter 25
HOMOPHOBIC (JENLISA)
Jennie's POV
I slowly opened my eyes and saw a white ceiling. Wait, am I in heaven? I roamed my eyes and notice that I was just in my bedroom. But how did I get here? The last thing that I remember was I ran away from home because I saw someone came back from the dead.
My head hurts as I try to remember what happened next. I was at the park and it started raining so hard. And then there was, Lisa? Wait, but that's not possible. How come Lisa will knew that I was there? I might be just seeing things.
I heard a soft groan coming from the right side of my bed and to my surprise there was my best friend, sleeping peacefully. Her head was resting at her arms. How come did she sleep in that position?
If Lisa is here, then it means I really saw her last night. But how? How did she knew that I was there? And I also can't remember how did I got home. Did Lisa take me home?
"You're awake?" Lisa asked and sat up properly. She cutely yawned and I was about to smile but then I remembered that we're not in good terms.
"Y-yeah." I replied and sat up in my bed slowly. Lisa hummed and walk closer to me and place her palm on my forehead.
"You're fever went down. Great. My job is done here." Lisa said coldly and was about to leave.
"Wait." I called. She turned back to me and her eyes were blank.
"What?" Lisa said. Her voice was still cold as ice.
"H-how d-did I got here?" I asked. I internally slap myself for stuttering.
"Your dad asked for my help to look for you since you ran away. I found you in the park, soaking wet."
"My dad? Did he-"
"Yes. He told me everything."
"Oh. I see. But how did you knew that I was at the park?"
"You told me that was your safe place right?"
I smiled knowing that Lisa remember that. I saw Lisa wearing some of my clothes. My smile grew wider when I saw that Lisa was trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Y-yah. I was also soaking wet and I don't want to sleep with wet clothes on. I might catch a cold too and if I did I wouldn't have been able to take care of you all night." She explained.
"Why didn't you bring an umbrella?" I said teasingly.
"I was in a hurry. And I was so worried about you." She said almost whispering the last word.
"Really? You're worried about me?" I said while smirking.
"Of course! I was you best friend after all. Even if you did something awful yesterday." Lisa said which made my smirk turn into a frown. I knew that I was wrong. I shouldn't really brought Hanbin with me.
"If you don't have anything to say, I'll leave now." Lisa said and turn her back on me.
"Can you stay for a while?" I asked softly, hoping that she would agree.
"Just call Hanbin." She said, still not looking at me.
"I want you to be here, not Hanbin." I said which made Lisa face me.
"Why do you want me to be here? Why not just call that guy since you really enjoy his company? I bet he wouldn't hesitate to say yes."
"Please Lili. It's been a while since we spend time together."
"And now you're begging. What makes you think that I will easily agree? After you ignored me? After you ruined our special day?" Lisa scoffed and walk towards the door.
"I'll make some pancakes." This is my last option to make Lisa stay. I knew she can't resist pancakes for breakfast. Lisa was about to open the door but suddenly stop when she heard what I said.
"Fuck." Lisa cursed. I pursed my lips together so that I wasn't able to let out a giggle.
"Don't you want some?"
"Can I put a lot of maple syrup?"
"Of course."
"Will a chocolate drink be included?"
"Sure. Why not?"
"Damn. Okay. But don't think that we're okay now. I-I'm just hungry and craving for some pancakes that's all. I'll wait for you downstairs."
My smile went from ear to ear. My plan worked!
"Clever kitten." Lisa said before leaving my room.
My eyes diverted to the mirror and saw that I'm not wearing the same clothes last night. But Lisa said I had a fever. So does it mean that she change my clothes? That monkey is really thoughtful. Well, there's nothing to worry about. We're both girls anyway.
--
"Dig in." I said and put a plate of pancakes in front of Lisa and she quickly took the fork. Her eyes twinkle when she saw the food but quickly composed herself when she realized that I'm staring at her.
"Aren't you eating?" She said. I rest my chin into my hands and smile at her.
"Just eat." I said. She put down the fork and look at me.
"No. I eat if you would too." She insist.
I rolled my eyes playfully. This blonde is so persistent. I pulled a chair and took a seat and grab some pancakes. We started eating silently and this awkwardness is killing me. I know I don't have the right to complain because it's my fault why are we like this.
"Lili." I called.
"Eat first, and we'll- yah! What do you think you're doing?!" Lisa said and gave me a glass full of water. I ate the pancakes as fast as I could and that made me choke. I swear to myself I won't do that again.
"Why did you shove all of your pancakes to your mouth?" Lisa asked.
"I was just eager to talk to you. Now, can you hear me out?"
"Fine. Talk."
"Okay. I'm sorry. Sorry for being such an ass. I was overwhelmed by the thought that I was dating my crush and I never thought about what you guys would feel. I shouldn't have brought Hanbin with me and I lied when I said that Hanbin insisted coming. It was really me who insisted him to come. I just want him to be close to all of you, but I guess I picked the wrong day. I'm really sorry Lisa. Will you forgive me?" I said and held her hand. I looked at her eyes sincerely and saw the light came back.
"Do you think I can really stay mad at you?" Lisa said and smiled. I hurriedly went towards her side and hug her.
"Thank you, Lili."
"Just don't do it again okay?" Lisa said and hugged me back. I nodded in response and my smile grew even wider.
Third Person's POV
Time really runs so fast. The four of them grew closer to each other. Jennie changed a lot, she was more careful about her decisions. She always think what her friends might feel first before deciding to do something.
But some things really doesn't change, and that's what Lisa feels for Jennie. Her love for the feline was growing deeper day by day and it worries her a lot. Not only her, but also Jisoo and RosÑ. They're very worried that if Lisa fell deeper to Jennie, it will hurt her a lot when the time comes.
Today was their last day in junior high, and they decided to celebrate at RosÑ's. They bought some drinks and chips. It was just supposedly a normal hang out but the girls can't get enough since it's been awhile since they had this kind of free time so they've decided to turn it into a sleep over.
"Finally! Junior high is done!" Jisoo said and jumped towards RosÑ's bed.
"Senior high, here we come!" The chipmunk cheered which made the three girls joined her before bursting out in laughter.
"Anyway, we're planning to go at the same university for college right?" Jisoo sat up straightly.
"Yeah. Why?" Jennie asked.
"Since that university is at Seoul, why don't we just lived in a same house? That would be cool." Jisoo said.
"The four of us living at the same house? That would be a disaster, especially when you're with us." Lisa tried teasing Jisoo. The latter grab something and threw towards the blonde but Lisa quickly dodge it.
"That's a great idea! What do you think Jen?" RosÑ asked.
"I agree but where are we going to find a house that has an affordable rent? I mean, it's Seoul, obviously the prices of the things there were way more expensive that here in Busan." Jennie replied which silenced the girls. They never thought about that.
Lisa looks at her friends which disappointment is written all over their faces. She has this one solution inside her mind but half of her doesn't want to do it. Jisoo started to sigh problematically, RosÑ was scratching her head trying to think an applicable solution and Jennie was searching online for some affordable dormitories at Seoul.
"You guys really want us to live at the same house?" Lisa said and the girls nodded leaving her no choice but to do what she was thinking.
"I can ask my grandfather for a favor." Lisa blurted which enlighten the faces of her friends.
"What favor?" RosÑ asked.
"I can ask him to buy a house for us in Seoul." Lisa said. The three girls blink rapidly, they we're surprised at Lisa's sudden suggestion but after a few more seconds of absorbing what Lisa said, they all yelled and cheered in happiness.
"Oh, look at this rich friend of ours." Jisoo said and try to ruined Lisa's hair but she quickly slap her hand away and glare at her.
"I'm not rich. My grandfather is." She explained.
"Cut the crap. You're his only granddaughter so it means you'll inherit all the fortune and you'll be rich!" RosÑ said. They started teasing Lisa until the blonde was annoyed and almost walk out of the room.
The four of them started talking about what courses they are taking. Jisoo wants to take law but she's thinking twice if she can do it. Jennie wants to study business and help her dad at his work. RosÑ wants to be a food specialist, typical chipmunk. Lisa badly wants to take photography.
"Oh look, it's snowing." RosÑ said and pointed out at the window.
"Is this the first snow this year?" Lisa asked.
"Yup. Look how beautiful it is." Jennie muttered.
"Christmas is coming." She added.
"Where are you spending your Christmas and New Year?" Jisoo asked.
"We might go and visit our relatives in Australia." RosÑ said.
"Same here. We'll go to Thailand as well." Lisa said.
"I envy you having relatives at other country." Jisoo said.
"What about you Jen?" RosÑ asked.
"Might be spending both holidays alone. Dad has some business trip he badly needs to attend." Jennie said sadly.
"That's cruel. Can't you just go with him?" RosÑ asked once again.
"If only it's possible." Jennie sighed.
"Come with me to Thailand instead." Lisa said. Jennie was surprised on what Lisa offered while RosÑ and Jisoo look at each other with knowing smirk.
"What? Are you serious?" Jennie asked.
"Do I look like I'm joking Nini? I don't want you to spend Christmas and New Year's Eve alone. Just come with me to Thailand instead."
"What about your parents? Is it okay for them?"
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind. They know you anyways."
"Yah! I want to come to." Jisoo said.
"No. Kim Jisoo is not allowed there." Lisa said and chuckled.
"Fu-" Jisoo wasn't able to continue what was she about to say because RosÑ quickly slap her mouth which leaves her no choice but to shut up. Lisa and Jennie laugh out loud when they saw Jisoo sulking like a kid.
"So what's you answer Nini?" Lisa asked.
"I'm looking forward to spend Christmas and New Year with you." Jennie said and gave Lisa her infamous gummy smile.
Lisa's heart jumped in joy knowing that she will be with Jennie for a long time. She thought that this would be good instead of letting that Hanbin invite her when he will knew that Jennie was about to spend those holidays alone.
Lisa stare at Jennie who is busy bickering with the other two. She promised to herself that she would make those holidays memorable for the feline.
