Chapter 19

Jennie's POV

"I can't understand her." I said and rested my head at Rosѐ's shoulder. Rosѐ patted my head before resting hers above mine.

It's been two days since that hallway incident, and it's been two days since me and Lisa stopped talking. Technically it was just Lisa who stopped talking to me. I've been trying to reach her out this pass few days but she keeps on avoiding me.

"Lisa's still not talking to you?" Jisoo asked. I nodded and took a sip from my milkshake.

"What really happened Jennie?" Rosѐ asked.

"Didn't Lisa told you?" Jisoo said.

"No."

"You guys live across each other but you never have the chance to talk to her? And you were classmates with her for all of her subjects. How is that possible?" Jisoo replied.

"Lisa stopped barging through my front door when they start practicing a lot more than they ever used to. And she's been quiets these past days. When I was asking her about that incident she would just shrug it off and change the topic." Rose explained and took a mouthful of pasta.

"That monkey really don't have any plans to talk about that eh?" Jisoo said. I lifted my head up from Rosѐ's shoulder and slouched my back towards the bench.

"I really don't get it. I was just trying my best not to get her hurt and there she goes, yelling at me." I said and threw my hands up in the air out of frustration.

"What do you mean by trying your best to not get Lisa hurt? By stopping her to talk to Sehun?" Jisoo said.

"Exactly! He's a fucking playboy. He's no good for her." I replied.

"What are you? Lisa's mother?" Rosѐ said.

"Shut up Rosie and just focus at your food." I said and glare at her. Rosѐ just shrugged it off and went back on devouring her pasta.

"I'm her best friend. It natural for me to care about her." I added.

"In what way? By controlling her life?" Jisoo asked and try to steal some of Rosѐ's fries which is quietly sitting beside the latter's pasta. But unfortunately, Rosѐ caught her in act and slapped her hand away from her precious fries.

What Jisoo said made me paused. That's what exactly Lisa said to me that day and those eyes of her held an expression which is unreadable to me.

"Do you... Do you really think that I'm controlling her life?" I said softly.

"I understand that why you don't want her to get involved with Sehun. But what about Nayeon's case?"

"Jisoo, she's gay. And we all know that I hate gays."

"Yes but Jennie, Lisa has her own life. She has her own decisions. Lisa can talk to whoever she wants and you can do nothing about it." Jisoo said which made paused for a bit.

"Unless you are her girlfriend." Rosѐ said which made me send deadly glares to her.

"What? I'm just saying that if you and Lisa are together then that's the point that you'll have the right to tell her what to do." She replied and went back on munching her food.

"Chipmunk has a point." Jisoo said which left me nothing to do but to agree.

I closed my eyes and massage my temples as I realized what I did back there was really inappropriate. As I was trying so hard to protect her, it didn't crossed my mind that I was already giving her a hard time.

"I should go and talk to her." I said confidently.

"You're going now? We still have classes Jennie." Jisoo said.

"I don't care. I really need to talk to her or else, I won't be at peace."

"But no one knows where she is." Rosѐ said.

"Then I'll go and find her." I said before walking my way outside the cafeteria.

Seulgi's POV

I was on my way to the cafeteria to have some lunch when I receive a text from my girlfriend that she's still need to do some works at the council. Perks of being the president.

I lose my appetite knowing that I can't have my lunch with my girl so I've decided to just take this lunch break to a napping session.

I walk my way towards the school garden where, this is where I go whenever I feel stressed and when my mind needed some peace. And also this is my place to cool down whenever Irene and I have some misunderstanding.

The huge maple tree at the rightmost corner of the school garden was my spot. It's the quietest spot around her because only a few students passed by down there.

"Seems like someone already took my spot." I muttered to myself when I notice someone familiar lying down under the tree.

I crouched down to take a closer look at the person who dares to steal my place. I scoffed when I saw who the culprit is.

"Yah. Lalisa." I said and patted her arm softly. Lisa just groaned and ignored me.

I patted her once again but I got ignored for the second time and she even turn around making me face her back. I scoffed annoyingly and stretched my arms preparing to attack. For the third time, I hit her arm as hard as I could which made her screamed in pain.

"What the fu- Captain?" Lisa said, her eyes are wide and she immediately sat down straightly.

"What are you doing here?" I asked and sat beside her.

"I was taking a nap but some crazy girl woke me up." Lisa said and narrowed her eyes on me. I lift my hand up to smack her but she quickly shielded both of arms.

"You were supposed to have lunch with Jennie by now right?"

I saw Lisa fidgeting her fingers before she leaned her back towards the tree and rested her arms behind her head.

"We're not in good terms." She said softly.

"You mean, you got into a fight with Jennie."

"H-how did y-you know that?"

"I heard everything." I said and leaned my back towards the tree.

"You were there?!" Lisa said in surprise.

"No, I planted some microphone at the hallway so that I can spy to every student here. Of course I was there dumbass." I said and rolled my eyes.

"I shouldn't have yelled at her." Lisa said softly.

"Yeah. Why did you even do that? Out of jealousy?"

"I don't know. Maybe."

"But either way, you still shouldn't yelled at her."

"I know cap." Lisa said and rubbed her face with her palm. "Now, I don't know what to do." She added.

"Why don't you go and talk her?" I suggested.

"After what I did? I don't know if I still have the guts to face her."

I take a look at my wristwatch and noticed that the break time is almost over.

"Okay. Time to go back to class." I said and stood up. Lisa did the same thing but she was going to the other way.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Home. I don't feel like attending the rest of the class and besides we don't have any practice today, so it's okay for me to ditch." She said and put her hands inside her pocket.

"Okay. But don't forget to talk to Jennie, it's the only way for the two of you to fix things up." I said. Lisa just shrugged off and waved goodbye. I shook my head as I stare at her slowly walking away. When she finally disappear from my sight, I went back inside the campus.

I'm on my way towards my next class when I notice a familiar figure rushing her way to search every room she passed by.

"Jennie!" I called. She quickly turned her head towards my direction when she heard her name being called. Her face lit up and run towards me.

"Whoa there." I said and held her arms. She lose her balance and almost fell down. Lucky for her my reflexes are fast enough to catch her.

"H-have y-you... h-have y-y-o-ou..." She said panting.

"Jennie breathe. You need to breathe first okay?" I said. Jennie took a few inhales and exhales until her breathing became normal.

"Have you seen Lisa? I've been looking for her the whole time." Jennie asked.

"Yes-" I said but I was quickly cut off when Jennie held my arms tightly.

"Where is she?!" She said, her voice is full of eagerness.

"Easy. I saw her at the school garden earlier but she already left."

"Did she told you where she's going?"

"Yeah. She said she's going home." I said and Jennie let go of me and run towards the exit. She paused for a bit and turned around.

"Thank you!" She yelled and went back on running again.

I can't help but to smile. "This kids, when will they be together?"

Third Person's POV

"Mom. I'm going to sleep. Don't disturb me please." Lisa said when she finally got home. Mom just nodded and went back on cooking dinner.

Lisa went upstairs, straightly to her room. She took her school uniform off leaving only her sports bra and boxers on. She's a girl but she loves wearing boxers. She feel more comfortable wearing those.

Lisa flopped herself on her bed, arms wide open. She can't count how many sigh she have released this day. She took her phone and stare at her wallpaper. It was a picture of her and Jennie taken by Jisoo when they once went out for lunch.

She unlock her phone and stare at Jennie's contact number. She's hesitating whether she'll talk to her or not. Shame is what she feel after she yelled at Jennie. Lisa's trying her best to avoid her best friend this past two days because of the fact the she can't face her after what she did.

She was about to press the call button when a knock from her door was heard.

"Mom. I told you already, don't disturb me." Lisa yelled but the knocking keeps on going. She got up from her bed and stomped her way towards the door.

"Mom-"Lisa instantly froze when she opened the door. It wasn't her Mom who keeps on knocking, it was her best friend, Jennie.

Jennie's feline eyes grew wide when she saw Lisa only wearing her sports bra and a boxer shorts. Her eyes fixed on Lisa's fine abs which didn't escape the eye of the latter. Lisa quickly covered herself when she remember that she's half-naked.

"As if I didn't saw you dressed like that." Jennie said and rolled her eyes.

"At least let me put on a shirt." Lisa said and quickly shut the door and Jennie startled a bit.

"Lisa! Open this!" She said.

"This ain't gonna take long!" Lisa replied and quickly took the first shirt she saw at her closet.

The door opened and Jennie try so hard to suppress her laughter.

"Why? Is there something wrong?" Lisa said with eyebrows furrowed.

"Your shirt. You're wearing it in the wrong way." Jennie said and pointed out at Lisa's shirt.

"Oh shit." Lisa cursed when she saw that she's wearing her shirt backwards. She was about to close the door again but Jennie stopped her.

"Nope. I won't let you to shut this freaking door in my face again." Jennie said and went her way towards Lisa's bedroom. It's her first time inside the room of her best friend so she took her time to scan the place. Usually when they hang out, they're always staying at the living room. And they haven't conducted any sleep over yet, except on that day when Jennie got afraid of thunders and asked Lisa to stay.

When Lisa saw that Jennie is taking her time to stroll around her bedroom, she quickly fix her shirt. When she's done, she took her time to stare at the beauty right in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" Lisa asked which made Jennie to turn around and stare at her.

Lisa and Jennie exchange stares for few minutes until Jennie run towards Lisa and hug her which made Lisa surprised. Her heart is beating so loud right now and she's silently praying that Jennie wouldn't notice it.

"I'm sorry Lili." Jennie said softly and buried her face in Lisa's neck even more. Lisa gulped at Jennie's action. She suddenly started feeling weird every time she's feeling Jennie's hot breath at her neck. She just came back to her senses when she heard some sniffles.

"Are you crying?" Lisa asked softly.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to control your life. I was trying so hard to protect you and I didn't notice that I was being selfish." Jennie said between her sobs.

Lisa lifted her arms and hug Jennie back. Her right hand is slowly caressing Jennie's hair from the back of her head, hoping that it would comfort her and stop her from crying.

"Hush now, Nini. Stop crying. You might get ugly if you won't stop." Lisa tried to tease Jennie.

Jennie pulled away, leaving Lisa in regret. She's hoping that moment would last for long. Jennie smiled and hit Lisa playfully. Lisa smiled softly and wipe Jennie's tears and cupped her cheeks.

"I'm sorry too Nini. I'm sorry for yelling at you." Lisa said. Jennie smiled back at her. Their moment was cut off by the sudden ringing of Jennie's phone.

Jennie took her phone and saw a message from Hanbin. It didn't escape Lisa's eyes. A pang of pain suddenly hit her chest.

"Why this guy needed to ruin our precious moment?" Lisa thought. Her eyes went back towards Jennie and saw how her best friend smiled from ear to ear by just a mere text.

"Are you two already dating?" Lisa asked, preparing herself on whatever Jennie answer is.

"No. We're just on the stage of getting to know each other." Jennie replied. Lisa felt a relief knowing that her best friend is still single.

"It's already evening, I should take you home by now." Lisa said.

"Nope. I'm spending the night here. Besides, Dad wasn't home today. I don't want to be alone." Jennie replied.

"What about your clothes? You're watching tomorrow's competition aren't you?"

"Then lend me some of yours. And the call time is way too early. I might not woke up on time if I'm going to sleep by myself. So please? Allow me to spend the night here?" Jennie said and clasped her hand together and plead her best friend.

"Now you're sending me that look, do I look like I have any choice?" Lisa said which made Jennie jumped in happiness. Lisa's eyes went to the window and notice something.

"Wait." Lisa said and rushed towards the window.

"What is it?" Jennie asked.

"Lay down at the bed."

"What?!"

"Just do what I say. I won't do anything to you."

Jennie followed Lisa and lay flat down at the bed. Lisa pressed some button at her wall and the ceiling suddenly moved together with the roof leaving a transparent glass.

"Wow." Jennie muttered to herself as she stare at the beautiful stars. Lisa lie down beside her and stare at the same sky.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Lisa said.

"I didn't know that you have this on your room."

"Well, you're the first person that saw this."

The two of them just silently staring at the night sky with those beautiful stars. No one ever dare to talk. They're just enjoying the beautiful view right in front of their eyes. Lisa was thankful that tonight is a one starry night. She was able to enjoy this romantic moment with her best friend.

"Lili." Jennie spoke. Lisa just hummed in response and wait for Jennie to talk again.

"Don't yell at me like that again, please? You're scary when you do that." Jennie said softly.

Lisa's body stiffened when she heard what Jennie said. She don't want Jennie to be scared to her. She slowly turned towards Jennie's direction and saw that her best friend is now soundly asleep. Lisa let out a soft chuckle and stare at her best friend gorgeous face. She removed some strands of Jennie's hair and caressed her cheek with her thumb.

"I won't." Lisa said and plant a kiss at her best friend's forehead.
