Chapter 36

Epilogue

Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]

"So you really think she's gonna come back to you?" Stiles asks as he and Scott climb out of his jeep, meeting Sky on the lacrosse field where she was waiting for them.

"Ha," Sky scoffs. "Scott's not that good."

Scott glares at her, "Yeah, I know she is," he tells them, turning to Stiles. "What about you and Lydia?"

"Ah," Stiles grimaces. "Well, the ten-year plan for making Lydia fall in love with me may have to stretch to fifteen, but the plan is definitely still in motion."

"Why don't you just ask her out?" Scott asks him.

Sky shakes her head, "She's not ready for Stiles yet. She's still cooking."

"Yeah," Stiles nods. "Okay. Why don't you just get into the goal and help me make team captain like you promised there, big guy."

Scott moves into the goal, then blinks as he realises something, "Hey, you know what I just realized? I'm right back where I started," he tells them.

Stiles pauses, "What do you mean?"

"I mean no lacrosse, no popularity, no girlfriend," he says, "Nothing."

"Dude," Stiles exclaims, almost offended. "You still got me."

"And me!" calls Sky.

Scott smiles, "I had you two before."

"Yeah, and you still got us," Stiles agrees. "Okay? It's a life fulfilled."

"It better be anyway," Sky mutters.

Scott nods with a smirk, "Very."

"Now remember," Stiles says as he gets ready, catching the ball Sky throws to him. "No wolf powers."

"Got it."

"No," Stiles says, pointing a stern finger at the two that were exchanging mischievous smirks. "I mean it. No super fast reflexes, no super eyesight, no hearing -- none of that crap, okay?"

"Okay," Scott agrees. "Come on."

Stiles eyes him, "You promise?"

Sky groans, "Come on."

"Would you just take the shot already?" says Scott.

Stiles lifts his lacrosse stick and throws the ball towards the net, groaning when Scott uses his speed to catch it.

"I said no wolf powers!" Stiles exclaims, ignoring Sky cackling next to him.

Sky grins at them, stepping back, "I've gotta go," she tells them. She sees their disappointed frowns. "I'm picking up Ariel's favourite Chinese takeout from just outside of town and then I'm going to surprise her with it because --" she pauses as she explains, scratching her neck awkwardly. "She's still kinda mad we didn't tell her about our little plan."

Stiles snorts, waving her off, "Go and grovel."

"I don't grovel!"

Scott laughs, "What do you call this, then?"

"Uh --" Sky fumbles. "I don't know!" she scowls at them, turning to walk to their mom's car that she was using as she ignores their snickers. "Something else!"

"Love you!" shouts Scott.

"Hate you!"

Sky hums to herself as she drives down the dark road on the way back into Beacon Hills, a bag of takeout resting in the seat next to her. Ariel wasn't necessarily mad at her, but she had been slightly put out that she was not involved with taking Gerard down -- especially after everything that he'd done. But Sky wanted to visit her with her favourite food, knowing that it was just what she needed after the physically and emotionally draining times they'd had recently.

Sky frowns, squinting as the road gets darker with fewer lights on the road and a light fog starts to creep in.

"What?" she mumbles, confused as she struggles to see ahead.

All of a sudden, a large dark figure appears in the middle of the road.

Sky swerves sharply.

The car clips the curb harshly and it flips, tumbling down the road as it spins, eventually screeching to a stop upside down.

Fragments of metal and glass are scattered along what seemed to be a deserted road and smoke rises from the half-crushed car.

Inside, Sky hangs by her seatbelt as she blinks awake, her head banging from being knocked against the side, blood dripping onto the ground.

With blurry vision, she looks to the side, groaning as she unclips her seatbelt and falls onto her side.

Sky reaches out of the window, ignoring the sharp glass that surrounds her.

A cane smacks down on the road next to her outstretched hand, making her flinch.

"Now," an accented voice drawls as Sky hears another two pairs of heavy footsteps come to stand by the car, though not able to see them, "What do we have here?"

The dark figure who had spoken moves back, glass crunching with every step. Sky could of sworn she saw a flash of red through her hazy vision as more of him comes into view, but he turns away to address the figures standing with him.

"Take her."
