18; Hereditary Consort

Jia Hui Liang waves goodbye. His vacation must end now. It was pleasant seeing his brother and Chu Liang again.

After returning to the palace, Jia Hui Liang walks gently thinking of who to start with the last set of people on his list: Madame Chi, concubine Fan and the biggest one of them all the emperor.

Stops in his tracks, seeing the tall man in front of him… ah the bait walks in front of him Fa Hai Long.

Jia Hui Liang barely stops himself from smiling as the male walks in front of him and then bows, “Greetings to the most honorable master, May the noon Bless the Honourable Consort Jia and enjoy his day.”

“Greetings Lord Fa,” Jia Hui Liang said politely. “Visiting the Hereditary Consort?”

“Yes, He's been under the weather lately. I'm worried.”

“Aren't you just the loveliest of brothers?” Jia Hui Liang compliments.

“Of course he is precious to us,”

Fa Hai Long, the Fa siblings, one of his reasons for his demotion, the Hereditary Consort Fa is in the beginning stages of pregnancy.

Although right now it's not known yet but soon at the upcoming banquet, it will be announced,  which the Empress Dowager will have the emperor visit paying favors to the pregnant male.

Fa Hai Long would marvel in this turning of favor then scheme against him, this man right in front him is going be the one to cause him to lose his unborn child.

“Honorable Consort?”

Jia Hui Liang blinks, “hm? Oh, excuse me, my head hasn't been the same as of late.” He said, smiling softly.

Fa Hai Long smiles, “I see, why not visit the imperial doctor, Your most honorable one?”

“It's a bit complicated, with good rest I'll be fine.” Jia Hui Liang chuckles naively.

Fa Hai Long looks at The Honorable Consort’s clumsy behavior, how unbefitting of someone with a prestigious title.

Jia Hui Liang recognises the eyes that belittles him… "perfect.

“You should really visit the imperial doctor.”

Jia Hui Liang flowns, “I'm worried, but since Lord Fa worries so much, I will!”

Fa Hai Long is taken aback, “what?”

“Lord Fa is kind! In fact, I'll check on Hereditary Consort Fa!”

Fa Hai Long smiles underneath. This is a good opportunity for his brother to gain favor! To think it is so easy to curry favor from this Honorable Consort.

“You're too kind,”

“Silly Lord Fa, we are family after Hereditary Consort are brothers so make you my brother.” Jia Hui Liang smiles.

Fa Hai Long slightly blushes as he sees a beautiful yet soft smile on his face as the soft wind blows, what kind smiles.

“Huihui,”

Hearing a familiar voice, Jia Hui Liang immediately dropped to bow, and so did Fa Hai Long.

“Your Imperial majesty!”

“Huihui rise,”

Jia Hui Liang stands, his eyes falling on the baby in his arms. His eyes dull for a second before immediately rushing up to the baby, grabbing him gently to hold him.

“Yu yu!” Jia Hui Liang said brightly.

Jia Hui Liang plays with his nose a bit before kissing the baby cheeks. The emperor gently grabs a hold of Jia Hui Liang, “you are very cold-hearted Huihui, am I not here?”

Jia Hui Liang blushes, smiling nervously before shyly kissing the Emperor's cheek. the frown, “that's it”

Jia Hui Liang is frantic, “everyone is watching”.

The Emperor sighs, and he looks at Fa Hai Long but then looks up to the side. He seems to space out for a moment, Jia Hui Liang wonders if he detects something.

But the emperor simply just looks at Jia Hui Liang, “Huihui, I'll be paying a visit tonight.”

“Ah! No!”

Everyone was shocked by his sudden refusal, “I mean, Hereditary Consort Fa is sick. Pay her visit tonight in my favour… I'll be fine.”

The emperor went cold, and he stared at Fa Hai Long. He could feel the weight from the Emperor's eyes, feeling annoyed, the emperor turned away in a fit. “Whatever,”

Seeing the emperor's back figure, Jia Hui Liang tilts his head, “oh. What could be bothering his imperial majesty.”

Fa Hai Long feels nervous and worried for his brother. This stupid Consort just displeased the emperor.

Jia Hui Liang looked naive on the outside as if he couldn't comprehend anything but on the inside…

He is barely containing his smile as his body quivers with excitement.

The emperor pays visits or he pays “favor”, he wonders which one the Hereditary Consort would get tonight. But he knows the emperor will go because you know what, he asks.

The emperor while still “kind” will do as he asks until he is not.

First Life

Jia Hui Liang looks at his son who is sleeping soundly in the baby basik, he sits on the bed not ready to sleep, sewing he is going to make a handkerchief for the emperor one that matches his son’s blanket.

Jia Hui Liang looks up, hearing a shuffle when he sees the emperor. He smells the poignant smell of liquor. “Imperial husband, you shouldn't drink so much, I told you. I can't let little Yu yu be exposed to such a smell. Li–”

Jia Hui Liang barely had time to react when he grabbed Jia Hui Liang, “what were you doing?”

“Your Imperial majesty?”

“The guard you gave him something” he said coldly.

“It's biscuits. After all, he seems hungry. Brother Fa was there too. It's a funny joke.”

“Then why were we flirting with him?”

“Flirting?”

Jia Hui Liang is confused. He never flirts with anyone even with the emperor to put it simply he doesn't even know how to flirt.

“Flirting? It's a misunderstanding.”

The emperor had said nothing more and simply went on the bed to sleep, but for the next few days, he'd stuck by him closely watching him like a hawk.

Jia Hui Liang was playing chess with the emperor when he started to feel his stomach hurt, he looked down to see his robes red, he used his hand touching it feeling the material onl to look at his red hand… blood.

He looks at the emperor whose eyes are directed at the side, the Hereditary Consort Fa.

His face has a calm smile against it, and the emperor then looks at his face with no expression. He soon drops to the floor…
