Sitting here has always made sense.

It made sense for Jungkook to be sitting early in the morning in the balcony doing nothing. Either to wait for Jimin to get out of the shower or, well, wait for Jimin.

"Did I wake you up?" Jungkook whispered over the phone, knowing well how late at night it was at Jimin's end, but couldn't hold back from calling him when it has been six days since he last saw him.

"Yeah, but I'm glad you did, Kook-ah." Jimin answered, clearing his throat after. "I wanted to talk to you before I fell asleep but you didn't answer." He pouted, turning in bed and curling up.

Jungkook smiled, playing with the ring on his finger. "I was already asleep, love." Jungkook saw the missed call first thing after he woke up, it made him giddy to wake up to Jimin's name on his phone. It was the closest thing to waking up to Jimin.

"Oh, when did you fall asleep? I thought you'd stay up all night like usual." Jimin teased, knowing Jungkook was sad but trying his best to keep the mood cheerful.

"Well, I don't have that person who stays up all night with me, the one I always order food with, you know that person? What was his name? I think it was Jim something?"

Jimin laughed loudly at the other end of the line. "You idiot, shut up!"

"What else am I supposed to do?" Jungkook laughed, loving the sound of Jimin's laugh, and wishing he was there, his laugh dying down when he remembered he wasn't there, and reality set in again.  "I miss you."

"I miss you too, Kook-ah, a lot. I wish you were there, I had a great time tonight but was still missing you even when I was having fun." Jimin sighed. "Did you know that Sungmin is seeing someone! And it's been months and we didn't know.."

Jungkook continued to listen to Jimin's voice, listening to him tell him all about the night he spent with his friends, feeling like things are just how they were supposed to be again.

Traveling has always been their thing at the start of their relationship, so it was always hard for him to watch Jimin go alone at the airport and drive back home and wait for ten days to pass.

It used to be something that drove him into depression, because at times, Jungkook was sure that Jimin was the only person who really understood him and talking to someone else and trying to get them to understand felt like he was speaking a different language.

"I don't like the taste of this bread." Jungkook scrunched his face up at the piece of bread in his plate, getting up to grab a glass of water.

"What do you mean? Do you know how much this costs? It's not even Korean bread. I had someone bring this to me from Iceland!" Jin argued, snatching the bread away from Jungkook.

"I don't know. It's too, I don't know? Bready? It's too much bread, it tastes like bread."

"What do you mean, you idiot? It is bread. How else is it supposed to taste like?"

"I don't know, hyung." Jungkook laughed, knowing Jimin would have understood what he meant.

Waiting for his person to come back was hard, but he always waited.

Yoongi kept telling him it wasn't healthy that he was so dependent on Jimin's presence. Jungkook knew he was right, but chose to do nothing about it.

"You do know that Jimin would be very upset, maybe even angry with you if he knew this, right?"

"You can't tell him, hyung. I'm serious." Jungkook pushed his chair away from his computer, taking off his headphones to turn to Yoongi who must have let himself in to check in on Jungkook who wasn't answering his phone.

"Have you showered in the last week at all? You look like shit!" Yoongi walked more into the room, ignoring what Jungkook just said, and kicking a few bottles that got in his way to the side.

Jungkook looked away. "I don't remember." He mumbled, putting his headphones back on.

Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Jungkook-ah, you have ten seconds to get your shit together, and by that I mean, cleaning this mess up, and hopping into the shower, or so help me I will do something that will piss you off, so don't test me."

Jungkook shrugged, rolling his chair back to the desk, and starting a new game, opening a new can of beer.

Yoongi's eyes went wide, not believing how Jungkook wasn't affected by his threat, so he pulled his phone out of his pocket, and called Jimin, who answered after a few rings. "Oh, hey, Jimin-ah."

Jungkook turned his head to Yoongi.

"Oh, nothing, I'm just checking in on our little dongsaeng here, but he's in the shower right now, said he was getting ready to face time with you." Yoongi continued, scaring Jungkook even more.

How the hell was he supposed to clean up this whole room and himself in so little time that Jimin won't be suspicious? He's very sure that Jimin's already suspicious about the fact that Yoongi just called to let him know his own husband is planning to call him.

"Oh, you can't wait to talk to him? I know you must be missing him like hell, but you should still have fun with your friends. I'll let you go now. See you in a few days." Yoongi said, quickly ending the call while making eye contact with Jungkook.

The maknae stumbled up and quickly leaned down to pick up all the trash laying around of empty cans and bottles, and even ramen cups. Throwing everything away and getting the vacuum to make sure the floor was clean again.

Yoongi left the room as soon as Jungkook was out of his chair, going to the kitchen to start cooking something for him, knowing how Jungkook failed to take care of himself each time Jimin was outside the country, or even out of Seoul.

He could do nothing but push Jungkook to take care of himself, not wanting a repeat of what happened a few years ago when they both were hurting.

Yoongi shook his head to clear the memories away, hearing the shower turn on in the main bathroom.

Jungkook shaved his face and did his skin care in record time, not even remembering the last time he washed his face, and watching his face clear up from the stubble he accidentally grew.

"I hate you, hyung." Jungkook mumbled while walking out of the main bedroom.

Yoongi started serving the food he made. "Are you sure about that?"

Jungkook's nostrils flared, smelling the delicious food and his stomach grumbled a second later. "I love you, hyung." He grabbed a plate and spoon to dig in.

Yoongi chuckled, putting his phone back in his pocket, and grabbing his car keys to leave. His work here was done.

"Good luck with the call, I opened the back camera and showed Jimin the room! Bye!" He said, shutting the front door after himself.

"Son of a-" his phone rang, cutting him off.

He swallowed before answering with a grimce, knowing what was coming for him.

Jimin's angry but still cute face greeted him.

"Jeon Jungkook."

He was screwed.

"I can explain, hyung." Jungkook tried to defend himself, forgetting all about the plate of delicious bibimbap beside him.

"You can't. You'll say the game just came out and you haven't left it since just so you can finish it? Right! Tell me which lie you're gonna say, cause I'm not gonna believe you." Jimin yelled, and Jungkook knew not to open his mouth to say anything. "Jungkook tell me how many days have you been in that room that it had to look like this! You're literally living alongside the trash! We agreed and we made sure that me traveling is not gonna affect either one of us, and you go and do this! What the hell, Kook!"

"I'm sorry, hyung." Jungkook said quietly, too scared that he made Jimin upset. He never wanted Jimin to feel guilty about traveling without him, he didn't want to appear weak in front of Jimin even when he was.

He could last a few days alone, it wasn't a big deal.

Jimin sighed. "Should I fly back? Be honest." He asked quietly, upset with himself that he wasn't there to take care of his husband.

"No!" Jungkook yelled, seeing Jimin's eyebrows go up, and quickly correcting himself. "I just- you know I miss you like crazy, and if it were up to me I'd fly to you right now but, you know that's not the right thing to do." Jungkook rubbed his face. "It'll be fine, hyung. I'll see you in a few days, and everything will be alright again, don't worry."

"No. Everything will be alright right now, and no I will worry, and I don't think I'll ever get the picture of the room out of my head." Jimin protested, rubbing his forehead from stress.

"No, hyung, I promise you, I will take care of myself the way I'm supposed to, I'm not five, I'm just sorry that I let go a little, but I'll do better now. Don't stress yourself out and have fun. I'll be at home waiting for you." Jungkook gently explained. "Here, see this?" Jungkook flipped the camera to the food. "I'm eating good food, Yoongi hyung made it but still, and when I feel like it's going to be hard again I'll just start a live and do anything with army."

Jimin sighed, sitting down to calm himself down. "Alright, Kook-ah. I love you alright? And the next trip you're coming with me as your punishment." He warned, pointing his finger at the camera.

"Not that bad of a punishment, babe." Jungkook whispered.

Jimin groaned. "Shut up please, I'm still upset with you, but I have to go now. If I hear anything like this again, I'm sending Taehyung-ah to babysit you."

"Won't happen." Jungkook denied. "If you see my notification, just know I'm missing you."

"Alright." Jimin sighed again. "Take care of yourself, baby."

"You too, please."

Jungkook didn't mind it that Jimin was traveling alone. He really didn't. He just wished it didn't take too much time of their life. He knew they couldn't live forever, and forever wasn't even enough for Jungkook.

But after doing this a few times over the years, Jungkook got used to having his solitude for more than a week.

It was a great time for inspiration for him. His love was gone so it meant nothing but art. He wrote, he painted, he sang in the studio.

"Jungkook-ah! These lyrics are amazing! Are you going to use them or sell them? I need to hear this one live." Namjoon yelled, letting himself into Jungkook's studio by entering the password.

"Wait. How did you get in?" The maknae asked, turning around from the computer.

"Hobie hyung." Namjoon shrugged, falling on the couch.

Jimin knew Jungkook's password by default, and Jimin just once asked Hoseok for something from Jungkook's studio so he gave him the password, who then told Namjoon when he lost his phone inside a few weeks ago.

"How does Hobie hyung- never mind. Did you like the lyrics! I just sent you the email a few minutes ago!" He got up, excited for any sort of feedback from his leader.

"I got goosebumps, Kook. How did you come up with this?!" Namjoon waved his phone, the lyrics on the screen.

"I don't know. Jimin's not here, it came naturally." He shrugged. "I need your help with composing though."

Namjoon frowned. "Wait. Not Yoongi hyung?"

Jungkook shook his head. "No, I'm thinking this time to make it something like this." He leaned closer to the desk and pressed a few buttons on his keyboard and music notes came out of his sound system, a sample Namjoon had sent him before.

Namjoon's eyes widened. "Oh my god."

Jungkook started to hum to the music trying to match the lyrics to the music that was playing, both of them getting up to dance around the studio, excited about the art they just created.

He loved waiting for Jimin.

Because on the other side of the world, even though he was enjoying himself with his friends, Jimin was always waiting for Jungkook too.

He was always waiting for the time to pass.

"Hey, babe. Am I late?" Jungkook voice floated through the air in the balcony, the warm summer air surrounding Jimin.

"It's okay, I love waiting for you." Jimin said softly, staring at the screen.

Jungkook was leaning into his phone, his long hair falling around his face. Jimin wanted to squeeze his cheeks, and play with his long hair.

He wanted to go home, but he loved being with his friends, and he loved exploring the world. He knew from the start that Jungkook was a home person, and he never wanted him to change.

He had to do this for himself just as he needed to do this for them.

Sharing new memories with his friends was fun, but sometimes he wished he could share it with Jungkook, not just through video call but in person.

He wanted to see the look on Jungkook's face when he tasted the food in the new country he was exploring, he wanted to swim with Jungkook in a new sea, he wanted to capture new moments in new places. He wanted to go on adventures with the love of his life.

"Where did you go?" Jungkook asked, a smile on his face at the faraway look on Jimin's face. He was staring at him intensely, and saying nothing.

"Nothing, honey" Jimin laughed and shook his head. "Now what was that about you wanting me to come over? Were you seducing me, Kook-ah? Naked in bed too!"

A loud laugh rang through the balcony. "Oh, that? It was nothing. I wasn't even trying to seduce you." Jungkook blushed, turning his face to the side. "Would you like me to seduce you?" He teased, pulling on the shirt he was wearing.

"God, shut up!"

But this was fun too, because at the end of the day, Jimin went home to Jungkook and Jungkook was home again beside Jimin.

"Huh?" Jungkook turned in bed when he felt movement, finding Jimin leaning on the wall to take his pants off. "Jimin!"

Jimin laughed tiredly. "I couldn't wait for two more days." He threw his sweatpants away, and opened his arms to a soft looking Jungkook with curls all over the place, the covers around his shoulders to warm him up from the AC when he wasn't wearing a shirt.

Jungkook almost stumbled out of bed from how tightly the covers were wrapped around him, laughing when Jimin took the last few steps instead to hug him. "I missed you." He whined, his face in Jimin's neck, arm tight around his waist, pulling him to join him in bed. "Let me look at you."

Jimin pulled his smiling face away, him too looking at Jungkook, dearly missing every mole on his face.

"Look at that tan! My baby is so handsome!" He kissed his cheeks multiple times, grateful for the reminder that Jimin was his.

Sometimes when Jimin was far away from home, and from him, it felt hard to believe that he was actually his, that he knew that person, that he loved this person and that person loved him back.

It was proof he was his husband, Jungkook always wanted to be reminded of that fact. "My husband." He pouted.

Jimin giggled. "Move over, let me under the covers."

After shuffling around, Jimin was finally in his arms, under the covers, face to face, chest to chest.

"How dare you?" Jungkook whispered.

"What?" Jimin whispered.

"How dare you come back before I could finish cleaning the apartment for you!" Jungkook scolded, making Jimin laugh again.

"It's okay, we'll do it together."

Together.

Jimin considered never leaving again, and went into a deep sleep that he had missed in the past week.
