Nicole knocked on the door and opened it. She lowered her head and grinned at the boy.
âHi!â
Lil Michael was wearing adorable pajamas and happily went over to hug her.
âPretty Lady, I said that youâd definitely come back to see me today, but Daddy didnât believe me and told
me to go to sleep early. Fortunately, I didnât listen to him!â
Nicole laughed and touched his head, raising the cake in her hand.
âEat some dessertâ¦â
Lil Michael nodded excitedly.
Clayton walked out wearing the same type of pajamas as Lil Michael. He wiped his wet hair, and his skin
was red from steaming vapor.
His collarbone was clean and sharp, and water droplets traced downward, adding a slight sexiness to his
gentleness. It was truly a rare sight.
He looked like he did when he kissed her that morning.
Nicole hurriedly waved away her thoughts and smiled at him.
âDo you want some dessert?â
Clayton was stunned, but the delight on his face could not be concealed.
âWhy did you come back at this time of night?â
âItâs because she missed me too much, of course!â Lil Michael spoke with big eyes. Nicole laughed and
pinched his face. âYes, I missed you too much.â Clayton looked at her smile with a dim gaze, as if those
words were meant for him. Lil Michael excitedly opened the box of cake and split half of it for Nicole and
the remaining half for himself.
Nicole sat across the table and looked at the cake in front of her expectantly. She was not as excited
even when signing a contract worth tens of millions of dollars. Clayton looked at them. The corners of his
mouth curled up in amusement. â Itâs just a cake. Is there a need to be so solemn?â However, he felt that
something was wrong. âWhereâs mine?â
Clayton looked at Lil Michael. âWhy didnât I get a slice?â Lil Michael said in a cute voice, âDaddy, did you
forget what you told me? Only lazy people with no self-control will crave the sugar from desserts to
satisfy their taste buds. Donât you hate eating sweet things the most?â Clayton stood there with an ashen
face, glaring at him while suppressing his anger.
He could not hold back anymore. He really wanted to beat Michael up.
Nicole dumbfoundedly inclined her head to look at Clayton. Why did that sound more like a personal
attack?
She was very displeased.
Although what he said was very reasonable, it was too insensitive!
What was wrong with eating dessert? Clayton withdrew his gaze, wrinkled his brows, and pursed his lips.
âI never said that. I never said that before!â Between lying to his sonâs face and getting back into the
graces of the woman he loved, Clayton chose the latter without hesitation.
Nicole lowered her gaze. Her eyes faintly flashed as she handed over a piece of her cake. âThen eat it.
Iâll believe you if you eat it!â
Clayton âs eyes were dark and deep, and there seemed to be a trace of grievance when he looked at her
firmly.
However, that did not work on Nicole.
Lil Michael started to eat cheerfully and gleefully watched Clayton âs actions.
His eyes were filled with smugness. âItâs so yummyâ¦â
Clayton âs outstretched hand began to tremble.
It was so sweet and creamy. What was the difference between this and eating sugar straight out of a
bag?
Would it not cause high blood pressure or diabetes?
However, a picture suddenly flashed in his head. A woman hysterically took a slice of cake and stuffed it
into the mouth of a little boy.
Clayton closed his eyes, looking grim and solemn.
Without hesitation, he forked up a piece and shoved it into his mouth.
The rich orange flavor spread all over his mouth, blooming with fragrance. It was fresh and slightly
sweet.
It was not the sickly kind of sweetness that he imagined.
The taste was actually quite good.
Clayton âs eyebrows stretched in a smile, and he looked at Nicole. âItâs quite delicious!â
Nicole laughed. Clayton âs pained expression just now looked as if he had to go to the torture chamber.
However, men were usually incapable of accepting desserts, so she would not dwell on itâ¦
