Chapter 824
The Divorced Billionaire Heiress
Clayton laughed and said in a light-hearted way.
âI wonât be going back to Liberty in the near future. My friends told me that living in a hotel long-term will
be difficult to get a girlfriend, so I bought a house.â
Nicoleâs face suddenly felt a little hot. She wondered if Clayton was determined to chase her, so he
bought a house and planned to stay in Mediania long term.
The two of them did not speak on the way to The Grand Manor.
The driver played an old song to ease the atmosphere. The car was just too silent.
âWeâre here, Mr. Sloan. Non-resident cars canât get in.â The driver reminded him.
Clayton smiled. He looked warm and modest as he turned to look at Nicole.
âYou donât want to talk to me?â
Nicole was stunned, then shook her head. âNoâ¦â
Clayton asked, âDo you want to come in and take a look?â
He was afraid that she would refuse and hastily added, âLil Michael asked me to bring you something
from abroad. I havenât found the opportunity to give it to you. You can come and take it away later.â
Nicole paused for a few seconds. âWhat is it?â If it was jewelry, forget itâ¦
Claytonâs smile widened as he cleared his throat and said, â He made it on his own. Itâs not worth
much, but it canât be bought anywhere else.â
All children liked to do this.
Clayton originally did not want to give it to Nicole because he did not know how to, but there was no
other excuse he could use to get her to go over. Nicole gladly nodded. âSureâ¦â
She thought, âIt must be a very thoughtful little gift! I must treasure it!â Clayton greeted the guard at the
entrance, so the driver drove the car in smoothly. Nicole remembered something and asked, âDid Lil
Michael get into a fight with someone at school?â Clayton raised his eyebrows.
âHe participated in a Youth Intelligence Competition and spoke out of turn, so he got into a fight with a
boy five years older than him and ended up getting beaten up.â
Nicole was instantly distressed. âThey must be jealous of his talent!â
The corners of Claytonâs mouth twitched slightly and smiled wryly. âYour answer was exactly the same
as Michaelâs. Thatâs also why he got beaten up.â Nicole smiled sheepishly. âWas he hurt?â
Clayton looked cold and restrained. âHeâs fine. Iâve disciplined him.â âHeâs telling the truth. You donât
need to be so serious. The teacher is so childish to call the parentsâ¦â Nicole muttered in a small voice.
Clayton looked at her helplessly. He did not expect Nicole to be so protective in private.
She really liked Lil Michael!
âThe reason they called for the parents was to get the person who hit him to apologize to him in front of
the parents. As a result, Michael got his bodyguard to act as his father and was caught by the teacher.
He then paid an old man that was selling things in front of his school to act the part and was seen
through by the teacher again.
Finally, he hired a man whom he met eating at a fast-food restaurant. When Michael brought the man
to school, the man turned out to be the teacherâs father. Just like that, the teacher got mad and finally
found my secretaryâs number from the schoolâs registry. Thatâs how I learned of thisâ¦â
Nicoleâs mouth gaped open in shock. âLil Michael usually looks like a resourceful and witty kid. At a
critical time, why didnât his brain work?
He shouldâve hired someone further away from school! This child is still a little too inexperienced!â
As Nicole was thinking about it, the car stopped.
Clayton went over to open the door for her like a gentleman. Nicole got out and took a look at the
surroundings.
The air was fresh, and the environment was neat. The semi- open space was lively and quiet. At a
glance, this was a good neighborhood.
Clayton walked forward while he chatted with her.
âI know that you often live in a duplex apartment that you bought yourself. I asked the developer and
found that both the upper and lower floors were already bought. No matter how much Iâm willing to pay,
the owner wonât sell. So, I had to settle for the next best thing, which is this property. Itâs not too far
from your place.â
