Yvette actually never intended to marry Sean.
Sean did not care about marriage. Otherwise, he would not trade his marriage for Yvette, but he knew
that Yvette cared.
Thus, he got a divorce.
When he heard Yvette say that she did not want to get married because she was afraid of shame, what
else could he do?
Yvette bowed her head and laughed, then looked up at him warmly with a hint of lingering affection in
her eyes.
She stretched out her slender arms and wrapped them around the manâs neck. Her devilish gaze
hooked his soul.
Her tender, stunning face was pressed against his chest.
Her soft words and her laughter were compelling to his ear.
âI know that youâve done all that you can, and I will always remember everything you did for me. Even if
we get married, we can still get divorced. We can just be together forever like thisâ¦â
Sean felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Obviously, the womanâs every move made him fall so deeply in love that he could not extricate himself.
However, every word she said was suffocating.
Everyone wanted a title, but she did not. Sean knew that his deception had hurt her badly back then.
He reached out and pulled the woman off of his body. He scrutinized every inch of her face with a
deadly gaze. âYvette, you know that I âll have to get married one day.â Perhaps one day, he would envy
other peopleâs families with children. However, he did not say the words that followed because when he
saw her increasingly cold gaze, he suddenly could not bring himself to say a word.
The panic he felt in his chest was so overwhelming. Yvette decisively let go of his arm and coldly
wrapped her hands around her body.
Her red lips were delicate. Her eyes were bright but ruthless as she hooked the corners of her lips into
a cold smile.
âGood riddance. I wonât cling to you. When you want to get married, feel free to do so. Weâll just get the
hell out of each otherâs life!â
At that time, Yvette must have exhausted all her passion and fondness.
Sending him away was also a relief.
Seanâs face changed viciously. His expression was complicated and stiff. Since they got back together,
Sean thought that the naive, lively, and passionate Yvette who loved him to death would come back to
him, but that was not the case. The Yvette in front of him was very strange.
Yvette still loved him, but there was no light in her eyes. She no longer pried into his personal life and
friends, and she no longer anticipated his gifts and appearances.
When she looked at him, her eyes even carried a trace of coldness and detachment, but in the blink of
an eye, she was just as she was before, like an annoying seductress.
When they were together, she was passionate in bed, but out of bed, Yvette would be indifferent to him.
It was as if it was unbearable for her to stay a moment longer.
Occasionally, when she was in a good mood, she would coax him, and he would be surprised.
Sean could not tell if the person in front of him was really Yvette.
His gaze was obscure and complicated, and his eyes suddenly turned cold.
âYou donât want to marry me because of your marriage alliance with the Sheldon family? If it was Lance
Sheldon, you would âve married him, right?â
Sean knew the answer, but he still had to ask for clarification.
He was only torturing himself.
Yvette laughed with a hint of coldness.
âYou already know the answer, yet youâre still asking. Itâs not because of the Sheldon family. If it were
anyone else, I wouldnât reject marriage. Iâll marry anyone but you!â
Her words were like a knife that stabbed his heart little by little.
âYou seduced me first. When weâre together, weâll be called the âcheating coupleâ. Cheaters should
never end well, so letâs just get along as we see fit. Donât spoil something as sacred as marriage.â
After that, Yvette smiled, turned around, and walked past him to go out.
