He asked enjoying his foodIt's going well paa! I replied with a sweet smile looking at my foodBefore I took my first bite there was another question poppingAny work pressure? He asked concernedlyA little I replied with a saggy faceWell, what are you going to wear tomorrow have you decided anything? Wear something decent and good lookingWhy don't you wear something Indian, my mom interrupted and sat down beside dad, facing my frontWow! Here I was planning to sleep all day lest I forgot I had to go somewhereAll my thoughts were suddenly interrupted when my mom popped up with another questionDid you forget or what? She asked in confusionI usually had this stupid habit of forgetting the most important things, for instance, while I'm sketching I sometimes tug the pencil in my hair and start scrolling through feed and the next moment I start searching for my pencil in the entire house, that's when Adi bursts into laughter and reminds me that is in my hairAh no I remember I stuttered a littleLooking at my facial expressions my dad saidOk, I get it, why don't you just go and shop?!Wait I exclaimed, only on one condition, I will shop alone!Oh no not again my mom slapped her forehead, this girl will definitely buy something stupid againFine! My dad excusedMy mom slapped her forehead again looking at me and my dad, and cussing at my dad for allowing this stupid thingEveryone finished their breakfast, I went and kept the breakfast plates in the sink and started off to the officeI wore my stilettos, took my bag, and went offI sat in the metro and luckily today Gautam was there with me againWe sat there for a whileHe started the conversation first this time, why don't you tell something interesting?? How about your first love??The moment he said first love, all my thoughts went back to the same place and sweat beads started forming on my foreheadSeeing me Gautam held my arm and asked concernedly hey are you alright?It is fine if you don't wanna tell me about it, don't stress about it!Well, how about I tell you about my last love? I said trying not to ruin his moodSure! He replied excitedlyHe didn't bother about me not telling about my first love, well I'm glad he didn't ask me. Of course who would like to ruin their mood in the mornings!!So... even before I could start I was interrupted againGoddamn it, this was literally the fifth time I was getting interrupted, what is wrong with people today?!!Gautam asked what about the first love?Ah I'll tell you some other day I tried cutting it offOk then he replied adjusting in his seatSo... I was maybe in my last year of high school at that time when I first met him, we were good friends, except he terribly enjoyed annoying me by teasing me along with his friends, he was a fresher at that time in his college and he was pursuing BBAOne min, where did you guys meet?We met in Delhi, our dads used to work together over there, and I used to stay in MumbaiHe was there ever since he was in 5th grade, he used to stay in a society it had all facilities in it like a shopping complex for everyday supplies, a badminton court, a park, a birdhouse with 5-6 parrots in it, a small pond with like 10-15 tortoises in it and all of them my friends, every time I went to feed the tortoises, the moment I signaled them all of them would come running to meOk cut this, and come to the main thing! Gautam said fakely yawningI elbowed him on his arms and continuedSo yeah! it was maybe during the early winters when I first saw him, I was crazy about badminton and I could do anything for it, my mom once asked me to throw my phone away if I wanted to join a badminton academy and I agreed to it without any second thoughts, well that's a different thing my mom never put me in an academy and I happily stayed with my phone ever afterThe only reason I came to Delhi was that I could play badminton since the apartment I used to stay in barely had some space to play so it was impossible to play there also the kids over there were pretty big book bugs, no one actually came out of their houses and I was done begging them to play so eventually I stopped going out and became a depressed soul with no socialization, I was desperate to find someone to talk to and actually have some fun since it was tough times back then and their mothers even tougher to convince, making my mom feel angry at me that she couldn't control her child like others did which led to huge scuffles, those wicked witches!!I entered the court along with my mom who accompanied me since she couldn't battle with her over possessiveness The moment I entered the court I saw four faces glancing at me, I sat down in the chair and waited patiently for my turnAll of them were stealing glances at me occasionally except one who didn't seem to bother at all, after glancing at me a couple of times they decided to leave, thinking that I and my mom would playJust then my mom whispered "I guess they are leaving because of us, go stop them"I went and spoke to one of them after thinking a thousand times since I was a huge introvertHi I spoke in a low yet audible voiceof course, I didn't want to shoo off people in the first place itselfHello! a voice answered, he was a small figure a little shorter than me and with a dark complexion, he was wearing saggy clothes an orange shirt which reached his mid thighs and was almost faded in color paired with a black trousers, he was so thin that his clothes seemed oversizedDo you wanna play? Oh! yea sure, if you want toOk, let's play thenWe started playing and after hitting a few shots I got tired since I was playing after a lot of days and I had to manage the entire court running here and there, so after playing for about 30mins I gave up and decided to restTired?! of only this much?? He asked teasinglyI'm playing after a lot of days that is why I defended myselfPraveen, saying that he introduced himself with a huge glittering smileRia, I smiled backBy this time my mom had already left the court and it was only three of us Praveen, Mr.Someone, and meThat is when a voice interrupted, and I saw him the man of my dreams, he was a little taller than me with a fair complexion, his hair set well, and a cute little tummy popping out, he was looking so adorable, I just wanted to squish him but I controlled myself, he said Shall we go?I looked towards Praveen and he said jumping over the other person and putting his arms around his neckMeet my Best friend Arjun, he is probably the most honest person you will ever meet, he hates lying and if he sees someone lying then he gets mad at them he chuckled while saying thatArjun stared awkwardly at him and at the amount of useless information his friend just blabbered along with a thin line forming on his lips We turned off the lights in the court and started walking back That night I was lost thinking about Arjun, usually, I was Ms. charming but this guy had no effect on him, that made me think more, how was he so special?Ok, so that's it for now Gautam! No! continue it please he made a puppy faceOh boy! we have already reached our office, do you wanna get fired by our boss??? i mean think it hasn't even been a week!!Gautam made a saggy face while I laughed at himBoth of us sat at our desks and started typing stuff, finally after a few hours we finished our work and excited the office excitedly since it was a half-dayOur excitement soon went off looking at the sun, it was so hot, it was just a few minutes and we were on the verge of sweatingWe both bid goodbyes and soon walked off our waysToday I had to walk the other way and soon found a companion Kajal!Omg!! Kaju!! God, I finally found you!!Gosh! Ria?! what are you doing here?!!Well I just wanted to shop few clothesOk! I'm not leaving you then, let's shop together!! she said excitedlyOh no! god!! why can't you let me shop alone for once in my lifeOh yeah sure! let's go I said unwillinglyI was already regretting itWe soon went to a local store and Kajal got out millions of outfitsOk, I will faint soon with these many clothes in front of me to try and wear Me being me chose the simplest outfit out of the millions of choices kajal put in front of meKajal slapped her forehead just like any other person would do looking at my so-called great fashion senseKajal protested against buying that piece of cloth and wanted me to try more but we still ended up with the same thingI went to the cash counter looking at my dress, I liked it sooo muchhhI paid the bill and we started walking backI gave Kajal a full wide smile and complimentary puppy eyes, while she replied by staring at me angrilyI thanked Kajal and went back homeIt was already dark since I got late with the shopping and my mom being herself gave me five missed calls till now and further countingI went back home and got scolded during the entire dinner for only getting one piece of cloth and wasting 2hrs and 500 bucks on that garmentI simply ignored it as I do all the time and went to sleep, I was so tired today that I cuddled in my bed and slept peacefully...Henloooo!!!
