My driver pulled up outside Kennedy's house and climbed out of the car, I was full of excited nerves! Today was the start of tour and I could not wait. I was so ecstatic to meet all of my fans.
My book is officially being published in book stores and online but people could buy it on my tour and get signed copies so I was overwhelmed with excitement. People were going to be reading the conclusion to such a huge series in less than 24 hours and my god- my anxiety was sky rocketing. I feel like, with the conclusion I have given, it's going to be a tough one for my readers, particulally my emotional readers but I was still so excited.
I knocked on the front door and waited for an answer. It was still early in the morning and the sun was just rising, creating the most beautiful colours in the sky. I was so entranced by the sky, I didn't realise when the door opened.
"Hey Lia," Annie said in a morning voice. I'd never seen her in the morning, I felt like I was intruding.
"Hiya, is she ready?" I asked, putting my hands in my pockets, trying to hide my awkwardness.
"Erm, not quite. Do you have time to come in?" She asked, leaning out of the door and spotting the driver waiting. I smiled and nodded.
"I came earlier just in case. I know what she's like," I chuckled gently and she stepped back, allowing me into the house.
"She's in her bedroom and I tried to get her up and help her but - I think she's nervous. She's being all hectic and panicked and it's not like her at all. Do you think you can talk her down?" Annie said, worry clear in her tone and expression. She walked me through the house and I pouted.
"She's really worried?"
"I think so. Just look," she sighed and swung open Kennedy's door after knocking gently. Her room was in a state- a complete and utter state. I've been to Kennedy's house a few times since the first time and it had always been pristine but this - I couldn't see the floor. Ken was on her bed, looking at me like a deer in headlights. I smiled at her slightly, sympathetically but she just burst into tears. It felt like she shot me directly in the chest but I moved into action. I'd seen her winge and whine but never really cry- not like this! She's had panic attacks but this was pure and utter fear.
I pushed through her clothes, trying not to stand on too much as I had shoes on and as soon as I reached her I pulled her into my chest.
"I- I can-" she tried to speak but I held her, shaking my head.
"shh baby, it's okay," I reassured her. I picked her up and set myself on the bed, sitting her on my lap. I rocked us and tried to calm her hdown.
"Come on love, deep breaths," I said to her softly, stroking her head.
"mama," she whined, clinging to me. I sighed and kissed her head.
"Mama's here," I whispered, rocking her more and holding her even closer to me.
"What can I do to help?" Annie asked softly, standing by the door.
"Pack?" I suggested, looking at the mess on her floor.
"Sure," she smiled, feeling better for helping.
In my arms, softly rocking her, it didn't take Ken long to calm down. She sat up in my lap and looked at me with her sad little eyes and I pouted. I put some hair behind her ear and kissed her gently.
"What's going on?"
"I'm so scared," she muttered, lowering her eyes. She took hold of my necklace and began fiddling with it.
"About what baby girl?"
"People are going to know you. They're going to know that we are together and then people will know me and try to get hold of me and what if I'm in danger? Whaat if people are jealous I have you and they dont? Will people know I'm a little. I dont' want the whole world to know that," she whimpered and god her little hands were shaking and I just wanted to never let her go.
"First of all, I have three security guards who will be travelling with us. We will get extra security at the hotels, we will get even more at the stores and meets and greets. Second, your identity can be protected if that's what you want. We can get you hats, hoods, any of that stuff. And! No one is going to know you're little. You don't have to be up front and personal with any of the fans, you can stay out of the way the whole time. I promise you princess, you're more than safe and I wouldn't ever, ever, put you in an danger. If anything, I'm going to keep you more safe than me," I said, reassuring her. I took hold of her shaking hands and kissed the back of them. She sighed, more of a relief and fell into me.
"Thank you."
"Which bed are you sleeping in then babygirl?" I asked Kennedy as we entered the hotel room. We were in Aberdeen and I had my first meet and greet tomorrow. I was so excited but nervous, I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Kennedy had met the whole team and we all ate together before heading to the hotel rooms. Our things were already up here but she hadn't seen the rooms yet. I knew we had two double beds so I was just teasing her.
"Erm, this one looks good bec- because we can see out of the window," she muttered, walking over to the bed facing the window. I smiled and went to sit on the other one.
"Awesome, I'll have this one then!" I said and flopped on it. She didn't say anything, just stayed quiet and I turned my head to look at her. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she looked so confused but I couldn't help but notice the nervousness coming from her.
"Unless of course, you'd want me to sleep with you-" I said, sitting back up. She nodded gently but didn't look at me. I sighed, my baby was so nervous and it was worrying me. I didn't anticipate this. Obviously I knew she'd be scared and anxious. I climbed off the bed and went over to sit next to her. I faced her with one leg on the bed and one leg dangling off the other side and I put some hair behind her ear. She was staring out of the window, refusing to look at me.
"Princess," I whispered. She didn't respond. "Please tell me what's on your mind." She stayed quiet for a little longer before taking a deep breath: "I'm so far away from home and we're only going to get further."
"You're with me baby," I said gently, trying to pull her in my arms but she stayed strong, not wanting a cuddle.
"I love that but, but what if something bad happens to Annie? I won't know," her face fell and she looked at me with the saddest eyes, looking at me as if she hoped I had all the answers.
"Baby, I'm sure she'll be perfectly fine. She's a big girl and can look after herself," I replied. She sighed and played with her fingers, picking at the skin. I took hold of her hands, stopping her.
"I know you're nervous baby. I understand this is going to be hard but I need you to put all your effort into getting out of your head. I completely understand where it's all coming from but I assure you that everyone is safe and she's going to be there to give you the fattest cuddle in a few days and then again in a few months. I want you to enjoy yourself on this trip! You're getting a tour of all of england's book stores- isn't that like- heaven?" I chuckled a little. She did crack a smile and nod. "I just want you to be happy darling. It'll be hard for a few days but you promise to try your best to feel better?" I asked, holding up my pinky.
"I promise," she whispered, clasping them together.
"Good girl," I said and kissed her cheek. She smiled a little more and leaned into me, giving me a cuddle.
"Shall we get you in your pjs and thennnnn you can have some milk?" I suggested after a few minutes silence. She nodded and sat up.
"You wead me as well mama?"
"I'll read to you as well baby, go get your case!" I said smiling. I tapped her bottom as she scurried off. She came back with her pull up, pink dinosaur onesie and some shorts. Although not the pjs I was expecting, I took them and threw her on the bed. She giggled loudly and rolled around as I went to straddle her. She laughed and looked at me.
"Shall mamam tickle you?" I teased, raising my hands and wiggling my fingers.
"Nooo!" She squealed, wiggling under me. I, however, had my knees securely on both sides of her waist so she couldn't get very far.
"I think I should," I teased, moving my wiggling fingers closer to her waist and she laughed loudly, before they were even touching her. God her smile was gorgeous.
"No mama!" She pleaded between her laughs.
"I'm not even tickling you and you can't stop giggling!" I chuckled. She squealed again and covered her face. I smiled and climbed off her. I pulled her joggers down as well as her already wet pull up. It was warm though, which meant she'd had an accident recently and I didn't like that.
"Did you need the toilet baby?"
"I was gon go but you tickeled me!" She screeched, sitting up on her elbows.
"Ooooh so it's mama's fault?" I teased her, raising my eyebrows. She smiled and nodded. I rolled my eyes playfully and began wiping her up. "Just make sure you're trying to make it, okay?" I said softly.
"Otay mama," she whisppered, letting her tiredness hit her. It wasn't that I didn't like her having accidents on the occasion or even wearing the pull ups I just knew the consequences of going in her pull up so often. Even without noticing, you slowly begin to lose that control and I knew my baby wouldn't want to lose control completely. She couldn't use her pull ups at work or if she went to uni so it was a tough one. I just wanted her to be protected if she needed it. Which, obviously, she does.
Once she was in her overly adorable her pjs, she sat on the edge of her bed, saying goodnight to her sister on facetime like she did everynight- even when staying at mine for the weekend! I had got myself ready for bed too as I knew it would take me forever to fall asleep so the earlier I start trying, the longer sleep I'd get.
"Mama milkk," she whined, crawling across the bed to me. I assumed she had hung up on Annie.
"Come here, you guzzle guts," I smirked and opened my arm for her. I left my top off, leaving it easy access for her. She smiled and slid under the blanket and got comfortable in my hold. I had a copy of my book that I was going to start reading to her. She loved my books so I knew she'd enjoy it. She lay in my arms and took my nipple into her mouth, drinking slowly. I kissed her head and opened the book.
It didn't take her long to fall asleep although doing so with my nipple between her lips. I smiled and moved away from her slightly, setting my book down, making sure the alarm was set and I switched the lamp off. I rolled over and spooned my princess. My darling girl.
