It was 9 October- a week before Kane's birthday and Leah was freaking out. She had no idea what to get him.

She had a plan to pretend to forget his birthday, and get everyone to forget.

However, they would throw a big birthday surprise for him later that day.

All the preparations were already ready and all that was left was a gift for Kane.

But she had many ideas. However, none seemed amazing.

Leah had thought of buying him a Nintendo Switch and some games which he always wanted.

Despite that, she felt that he deserved the world.

When it was her birthday, Kane had given her the best surprise- her parents.

She wanted something original. And that was when she had an idea.

Grinning, she knew what to get him.

A week had passed and it was Kane's birthday.

Following the plan, everyone had pretended to forget his birthday.

Kane felt a little confused but he didn't show. While he went to work, he received some happy birthday's from his staff.

At least he knew he wasn't crazy. Kane genuinely thought he was living in another world.

He couldn't deny that he was sad, but he just acted indifferent.

While he was a work, everyone had quickly snuck into their place and started to decoration. They had no idea when he was coming and they thus had to act fast.

Buffets were being set up, there was a large cake, some wind and presents stacked at one place.

There were also decorations put up. Within thirty minutes, everything was done. The good teamwork with everyone made it a speedy process.

All that was left was the birthday boy to return.

Leah was excited for him to receive the gifts she had prepared. She hoped he will like it.

It was around 4pm when they finished everything up. The party held had both his extended family and his close family, friends and of course his significant other and her family.

A few staff that has been working with them also were invited to celebrate

With the secret information from his staff that he was leaving soon, they all got ready in their positions, playing the waiting game.

Knowing that the drive back takes about fifteen minutes, they quickly got into their positions, holding what they had to hold.

Some were holding confetti while others held party poppers.

By that time they had settled, it was nearing 5pm. Leah was on lookout and would give a signal when he is approaching the drive way.

It was a painstaking process to wait and stay in their positions.

Most of them were squatting and staying in the same position causes their knees to be painful.

However, as they were about to sit down, Leah made the signal which made them more awake.

With a soft yet obvious countdown, everyone shouted, "Happy Birthday Kane!"

Kane was so stunned by the surprise that he forgot how to speak for a second, but it slowly came back to him.

"Happy birthday babe!" Leah said, going to Kane's side.

"Thank you everyone" He said with an appreciative smile, holding Leah's waist.

"Let the party begin!" Audrey exclaimed while Matthew popped the champagne bottle.

Kane received many gifts and some 'happy birthdays', which he thanked gratefully.

He also looked at the buffet set up, which had a plethora of his favorite food.

Looking at it, he knew that Leah had been apart of the planning. The food displayed had a hint of Leah's touch, if it made sense.

The rest of the night was spent chatting and socializing, catching up with his extended family.

It didn't take too long for most of them to leave as it was getting late.

Bidding goodbye, the many people in the house now only left two- Kane and Leah.

He opened up all the gifts he received- clothes, perfume, watches, etc.

Leah purposely left her's for the last as like a surprise element.

While he was admiring a watch, she sneaked away and brought out her gifts.

Handing it to him, he kissed her before opening up. His eyes widened in shock as expected.

The first gift he opened was the Nintendo Switch and the games.

"Holy fuck! Thanks honey!" Kane was over the moon, his grin not being able to leave his face.

"There is still one more gift" Leah said, having the small gift to him.

"Read it when you are free. I'll clean up first" Taking it as an invitation, he opened and read it.

Kane almost shed a few tears at how sweet the whole book was. It was a documentary of their whole time in the relationship.

"Hope this was satisfactory birthday to you" Leah said as she returned back to the living room.

With a big smile on his face, he replied:

"Thank you for the best gift ever!"
