34| playing the game

The plan was simple. Fake break up and act as though Kane was in love with Jessica, then take the real contract with the help of her.

As Jessica wasn't the brightest, it would be easy

to deal with her, but Austin wasn't the same case.

Though no one likes him, everyone had to admit he has different tricks up his sleeves which are hard to predict.

So trying to convince him wasn't going to be an easy task. Giving it some good thought, an idea was formed.

They decided to let Leah look like she was cheating on Kane so he would be 'heartbroken' and it would be known to them.

In his 'vulnerable' state, Jessica might come forward and try to 'trick' him into marrying him.

Based on their investigations, they were trying to get Kane to sign away his rights to Austin so he could take over and do his money laundering business.

Hopefully, everyone would be fooled. With everything planned, with backup plans from A to Z, they could begin operation Get rid of Austin.

"What the fuck is this?" Kane screamed at Leah, acting out their plans.

Only them and the police knew of their plans. The police were informed since they were trying to catch Austin, whose name wasn't even Austin in the first place.

(AN: for your reference, i'll still use the name Austin)

He was previously known as Jerald Keys, a gang leader who was infamous for their usage of drugs.

Jessica's name was the same but there was just a change of the last name.

"What do you mean?" Leah asked, knowing Austin's men were watching their every move.

After a few weeks of observing, it was perfect timing to bring the evidence. It got even better when they were the ones who sent it  them anonymously.

"This. Why the fuck were you hugging him? And why do you guys looked like y'all kissed?" Kane questioned angrily.

Leah was stunned by the sudden evidence. As she about to explain, "I don't want to hear it. Just get the fuck out!" Kane yelled and slammed the door where their bedroom was.

Kane pretended to cry while Leah also pretended to wipe her tears and sadly left the house.

From a distance, there stood someone watching the house who pulled out her phone. "Austin? Ms Knight has left. You can get Ms Warts to come in"

"Good woke Ashley. You may return back home now" Austin replied, smirking at how everything was falling into place.

Or was the case?

Leah had returned back to her parent's place where she didn't explain anything to them. In order for the plan, the lesser the people knew, the easier the plan would be executed.

Keeping with the act of post breakup, she hoped everything was falling into place. As much as she missed him, there was no way she could contact him, especially with people constantly around them.

Meanwhile, Kane was still 'moping around' the house, trying to look sad. He watched television and ate unhealthy which he enjoyed, but he also worked out.

Jessica having heard the plan from was super excited. She had gone on a shopping spree to prepare in hopes to get him sign the contract.

She wasn't as stupid as people assumed she was. She just has been playing the 'stupid blonde girl' role. But with that being said, she was not the smartest either way. To put things simply, she had an average brain.

After the shopping trip Jessica had, with Austin's permission to head to Kane's place, she headed off.

The trio took about twenty minutes and Jessica  was sort of nervous. Though she was out of jail, she actually wasn't supposed to be out yet.

Since Austin had bribed one of the police officers, he paid quite a small fee and generously got all of them out.

Despite her being extremely about where she was, the police still hadn't catch her which was puzzling to everyone.

If they knew where she was, why not just catch her.

Well it isn't as simple it looks. They wanted evidence to put them in jail without having to worry about bailing or anything. And as for the cop, he was fired.

Jessica knocked on the door and hoped for the best. She was excited to do her first mission given by her father.

Looking through the peep hole, Kane saw Jessica and smirked internally. Everything was falling into place, he thought.

Appearing to look sad and annoyed, he opened the door, saying "What?"

"I wanted to keep you company. I heard what happened on the news. Leah is such a bitch" Jessica said, as if she wasn't part of the reason.

Though Kane wanted to throw her out of the house, she was vital piece to getting the contract. And as such, he pretended to ponder a bit.

With the silence, it made Jessica worried and she tried to sound less forceful in hopes of him accepting.

"Okay okay. I'll leave if you don't want me around" Jessica said.

And it worked! Kane had agreed and let her in. It was simple yet grand. Jessica observed the place she likely was going to be for the next few weeks.

He brought her to the living room where he mainly stayed during the breakup.

Jessica wanted to seduce him and possibly get him to agree to meet with Austin. By sleeping with him, hopefully she can gain his trust.

After that, getting him to drink something with a sleeping potion and forging his signature on another contract to sign his rights away.

Once that was done, he would have no problem doing anything.

Austin was really looking forward to the day where he can rule the whole empire. With all the power in him, removing them from the empire would be a piece of cake.

Fast forward a few weeks and the plan was going smoothly. Kane had pretty much gained Jessica's trust and he was trying to find that contract.

As he was about to start searching, he heard a voice.

"What are you doing here?"
