32| an accident

After that weird interaction with Olivia, Leah's thoughts were all over the place. At least she could share her thoughts with Kane.

She drove back to their place and took a quick shower. Modeling was tough work. Standing in the spotlight was super hot.

Kane told her they were going for dinner to somewhere new and told her to dress classy.

With that information, she looked through her closet. There were a few candidates here and there, but ultimately decided on a rose dress with a white jacket.

Once she put it on, she started to do her makeup and hair, getting it done within fifteen minutes.

After that, she sprayed perfume on and chose her shoes for later, placing at the front door.

It was just an asian thing. No shoes in the house.

(AN: is it just me or what? #asian gang)

Seeing that she had time, Leah decided to upload the photographs onto the website. It was half done, mainly due to the lack of photographs.

Placing it halfway, she noticed her phone 'ding' and thought it was Kane. Leah was about to leave when she realized it was from Olivia

Olivia:

Hey sorry for the interaction just now. I was kinda feeling lonely these days since my parents are traveling

Me:

it's alright

Leah quickly replied as she saw an incoming call from Kane.

"Hey honey. I'm outside already" Kane said.

"Alright, give me a second. I'm coming down now" Leah said, rushing to wear her shoes.

She opened the door to see Kane there, leaning against the car.

When he saw her, Kane immediately opened the door for her. Replying with a thanks, she settled into her seat.

Noticing an unread message, she opened it and just a 'have fun' from Olivia. Replying with a 'thanks', Leah than focused her attention back on Kane.

"Ready?" Kane asked. With a nod, they set off, a thirty minutes drive ahead of them.

During the drive, Leah decided to tell him about Olivia. She needed an outlet to rant.

"So I had my photo shoot today and I meant up with like the other five models, along with Enya and Scarlet.

But there was like one of them, Olivia, that kinda gave me some weird vibes. I don't know if I'm just overthinking" Leah ranted.

"What's her full name? I can do a background screening and get it checked to see if anything suspicious pops up" Kane suggested.

"Let me check" Leah said, pulling out a phone. Based on the email she conversed with, it is likely to be 'Olivia Rose Gates'.

"Olivia Rose Gates. Might not be her actual name though" She pointed out.

"True but you can just send me her name" Passing his phone to her, he quickly turned his attention back to the road, in order to avoid a car accident.

She searched for her contact on his phone and saw her contact name on his phone- My world. That made her smile.

Leah didn't want to make a big deal but she was so happy to see her contact name like that. Bernard never really showed much attention, but he thought this just wasn't his love language.

However, after being together for a few months, Leah noticed how he acted. It was just so different from how other boyfriend treats their girlfriends.

Looking back, she felt stupid for not realizing the red flags of their relationship. With him cheating, it proved her concerns.

She realized she had spent a long time in la la land and came to reality. Kane was still driving, trying not to get into a car accident.

"Thanks honey. I'll put your phone at the holder here" Leah told me, which diverted his attention to her for a quick second.

Replying with a nod, he faced the road. However, before Kane could tell her something, headlights blinded their vision.

Kane reacted quickly, shielding Leah from the crash.

Leah woke up groggily from her sleep, the four foreign white walls surrounding her.

Waking up, she saw her all family and friends around her.

Her first thought was to find Kane. Where was he? She thought.

The movement on her bed made her parents notice she was awake and rushed to her immediately.

"Sweetie, you okay?" Kayley, her mother asked, gently patting her head while Liam poured a cup of water for her.

On the other hand, her friends, the models and Scarlet came running to her.

"Where is Kane? Is he okay?" Leah asked after drinking the whole cup of water.

"Doctors say he is fine. He sustained more injuries than you since he covered you. Matthew is currently finding out the culprits" Kayley shared.

She then turned her attention back to her friends, who seemed equally as worried.

"Thanks a lot for coming guys" Leah expressed her gratitude.

Smiling, they all replied "No worries. Take care".

Her newly made friends had left knowing she was fine, but Scarlet stayed.

"Can I go see Kane now?" Leah said, slowly getting up.

With Kane covering her, there wasn't much damage done to her. All she had sustained was a small hand and knee fracture.

(AN: no idea how a car accident works lol)

"Okay, slowly. Take the wheelchair" Liam helped her to the wheelchair.

"I'll help you guys push her there, Mr and Mrs Knight. Take a rest and freshen up" Scarlet said, leaving no room for discussions.

"Thank you so much Scarlet. And just call us Liam" Pointing to him. "And Kayley" She pointed to herself.

With Kayley giving Leah a kiss on her forehead and Liam giving her a head pat and a hug, they too left for home.

As they had been here since yesterday at 7.30pm and she had just woken up at 2pm, they needed time to relax.

"Thanks Scarlet" Leah said smiling at her.

"No problem. By the way, Romeo, Enya, Matthew and Audrey are all at his room" Scarlet gave her a heads up.

Nodding at her response, Scarlet pushed the wheelchair till the room 351 and knocked on it, before opening the door.

Like what Scarlet said, Romeo, Enya, Audrey and Matthew were all there, waiting for him to wake up.

She was afraid that she might get disgusted looks from their family. After all, she was the reason for their son being in the hospital.

However instead, she received looks of concern at her.

"Are you okay Leah?" They are walked to wards her, disregarding the now half awake Kane.

"I'm good." But her sharp eyes spotted Kane and immediately ran toward him.

"Are you okay? Leah asked, rushing up

to him, despite her fractured leg.

"I'm good. What matters if that you are okay"

"Welcome to Fashionably Imperfect!" Leah said.

After years of preparation, it was done. She named it as such to embrace everyone, regardless of what they looked like.

Her parents stood beside her happily, proud of their daughter's achievements.

As Leah was about to cut the ribbon, a bullet flew through.
