It was Monday. It was time to work. The weekend was a blast for the both of them.

However, it was time to get down to business and wait for the weekend to arrive.

Surprisingly, Leah woke pretty happy and earlier than usual, probably due to the past events that occurred.

She was told that the new person that was helping her was coming in today. Hopefully she wouldn't be one bitchy human, she thought.

Trying to not overthink, she changed into her work attire, a matching pants and blazer, wearing a black top and her favorite belt.

When Leah felt satisfied, she left her room and into the kitchen. Seeing she had more time on her hands, she whipped up something simple, eggs and toast for breakfast.

Of course, not forgetting her cup of tea as always.

After that meal, Leah felt fuller than usual, probably due to the fact that she rarely ate breakfasts like this that early.

With extra time on her hands, she decided to do a rough sketch of her shop. She was proud. She was getting one step closer to her dream.

Leah was lost in her own world, designing and planning her layout. However, a shrill alarm brought her back to reality.

Her eyes widened at the time. She was going to be late if she stayed in her house any longer.

Rushing, she made it there in ten minutes when she usually needed fifteen.

Giving the receptionist and cleaners a small smile, she went up to twenty seventh floor to meet the new hire.

Thank god she made it in time.

When she reached Kane's office, there was just Enya there, no sign of the new hire.

Kane secretly shot her a wink and acted as per normal.

"Hi Kane and Enya!" Leah greeted them with a smile.

"Hey" Both of them said it at the same time, making all three of them laugh.

Once the laughing ended. Kane said" I realized I haven't given you an answer to your question on what date should be at. Let's fix at 1 February" And Leah nodded in response.

Just then, they heard a knock on the door. "Must be the new hire" Enya said to no one in particular.

"Come in!" She yelled and a small and petite figure came walking in.

"Hi. I'm Hannah. Hannah Langton" Hannah introduced herself to the three people in the room.

"Hello. I'm Leah and I'll being working with you" Leah introduced herself.

"And I'm Enya. This is Kane. We both are your bosses" Enya told Hannah who eyed the both of them.

"Leah will show you to your seat. Feel free to ask us if you have any questions. For now, we are going to settle your job scopes and you both need to sign a contract to confirm the changes" Kane explained.

"The new hires will be taken care of by Hannah and most of the HR job scope.

And, Leah will be working on more events and working closer with the events management" Enya explained.

"Also, there is this checking in form that Leah too will do. How's everything?" Kane added on.

Seeing that there was no disagreements, they both signed the contract.

"Thank you. You may leave now" Kane bid them both goodbye.

Hannah and Leah had a small talk, chatting about random things.

"Does Kane have a girlfriend?" Hannah asked innocently.

"No?" Leah scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. Although she did know that Kane wasn't seeing anyone, she still felt weird but she just shrugged it off.

Leah could see a coy smile on Hannah's face. "Here's your desk" She just ignored.

"Right. Thanks" Hannah said, setting her table up.

When Leah saw Hannah settled in, she headed to her desk, just a very short walk away.

She started to do some work, mainly planning for the events. Leah had the invitations ready, and was planning to send it to them via email.

It was still early, 18 January, but you can never be too early.

Writing down the different food places, she also called the hotel and booked it for 1 February.

After that, she finalized the invitations and sent it to the whole company.

She was proud of the invitation she made.

When she got that done, she began working on some work that would soon be passed on to Hannah.

Leah thought of clearing those up before handing them officially over to her.

Just then, she heard the sound of heels walking towards her desk. Looking up, she saw Hannah.

"Does Kane eat lunch in his office?" Hannah asked.

Now she was getting a little uncomfortable. But she didn't know how to respond.

"You wanna ask him?" Leah said confused.

Hearing that, Hannah nodded and skipped away.

Leah felt like she could breathe again, without Hannah being all up in her face.

She decided to get back to work, and soon enough, it was lunch time.

Planning to just order something simple, a surprise delivery came to her desk from a delivery man.

The braised pork rice and the scallion pancakes from the place Kane and Leah had after ice skating.

She saw a note- I wanted to eat lunch with you, or maybe even get my sister but we are both stuck in a stupid meeting :( so i got you this instead. hope you like it ;)

Aww, she thought. Leah found it cute that Kane even thought of doing something like that.

Without a care for the world, she dug in, enjoying the familiar tastes of home.

When she finished eating, Leah accidentally let out a burp, which made her blush in embarrassment.

Hopefully no one heard that, she prayed in her mind.

While clearing up, she had her spidey senses tingling, telling her Kane was here. Looking up, her spidey senses were indeed correct- it was Kane.

"Hi" They both blurted out at the same time, making them both giggle.

"Your giggle is so cute" Kane said. It was like music to his ears. Leah just giggled back as a response.

"How was the food?" Asked Kane.

Leah nodded in appreciation and confirmation of how good the food was. It was as if it was sent from heaven.

"Also, can I just say that Hannah is so weird. She came up just to ask if I was eating alone" Kane ranted. He wasn't going to give two shits to another girl, unless it was his mother, sister or Leah.

"Well, she did ask me if you were single and i'd you ate alone" Leah mentioned. "Maybe that's why"

"Oh my god. I'm this close to firing her although today is her first day. You know what, maybe I will" He said determined.

"Kane don't. Let's see how she acts okay. I'll tell you if I felt uncomfortable" Leah reassured her and he begrudgingly accepted 'defeat'.

"Okay. Please tell me okay" Kane made sure, with none other having a pinky promise done to seal the deal.

After all, she is precious to him.
