13| ice skating 'date'

The next day, Leah woke up disoriented. For a second she had forgotten she wasn't at the place, and instead at Kane's.

The whole of last night passed by like a blur. It was the most fun she had in a while.

Seeing the time was still sort of early, 10.17 am to be precise, she laid on the couch which both of them slept at.

After the movie marathon, Leah munched on the burger while Kane whipped out another burger from the bag for dinner.

They then decided to have a karaoke session, singing their hearts both. They both agreed they sucked at singing.

Their voices were going to be brought with them to their grave. They were too ashamed to relive those moments.

Kane was still asleep when she woke up, so she took the time to study his features.

Leah looked at him, looking at his face very closely. He looked very peaceful in his slumber.

She saw how beautiful his features were, god really has favorites, she thought.

Seeing that it was pointless to go back to sleep as it was hard for her to do so, she got up.

Remembering the mini-tour he gave her after dinner last night, Leah successfully navigated where the toilet is.

Once she was done freshening up, grabbing some toothpaste and a toothbrush left out in case she stays over. True enough, she did. She then left the bathroom.

Leah wanted to cook breakfast for him but decided against it. First, it wasn't her house. Second, she doesn't know what he likes, or any allergies and third, it was a little awkward for her.

So she planned to wait for him to wake up to have breakfast later. However, as she was about to surf the web, she heard a familiar voice.

"I wonder whose shoes are those, definitely not Romeo's or Scarlet's" It was Audrey's voice.

"I guess we will find out" And that was Enya's voice.

Now she panicked. What excuse could she give that was believable. This was the time Leah needed Kane to wake up, but she didn't have the heart to wake him up.

Leah racked her brain, trying to come up with an excuse but thinking under pressure is not her forte.

"Oh, Leah hi!" Audrey exclaimed, reaching over for a hug when she was Leah.

"What a surprise" Audrey said.

"Hi Audrey. Hi Enya" Leah smiled awkwardly, trying to act cool.

Just then, Kane stirred from his sleep, having woken up by the buzz of voices.

He rubbed his bleary eyes, trying to keep them open. He didn't feel like he was in the right state of mind.

However, when Kane rubbed his eyes more, he was surprised to see his mother, sister and Leah engaged in a conversation.

At first, Kane thought he was seeing things but rubbing his eyes made him realize that what he was seeing was indeed reality.

Kane had long forgotten about the scene but how since his mother and sister would react to Leah being here.

So, he quickly washed up and walked back out to the kitchen where the three of them were.

"Morning ladies" Kane said as he walked into the kitchen.

Leah heaved a sigh of relief seeing that he appeared.

It was going to be awkward and weird for her. She didn't even know how was she going to explain everything.

Thank god they haven't asked her yet. She would probably blank out under stress.

"Wanna head for breakfast?" Kane asked a simple question, which led them to a nearby cafe where the four of them sat.

They were now waiting for their food to arrive. To kill time, they chatted about very random things and soon enough their food arrived.

Since none of them has tried the food from this place, named Smiles Eatery, they shared their food with one another.

All of them came to a conclusion that the food was good and would definitely come back here.

"Alright, I got to go now. I have to meet someone" Leah said in midst of their chatters. She winked at Kane secretly just to let him know.

It would be like a cover-up.

"Oh okay. See you on Monday" Enya bid her goodbye.

"Bye Leah. Hope to see you soon" Audrey waved her hands.

"Bye Leah" Kane said, though they were going to meet up anyways.

Once she left, both Audrey and Enya turned to look at him suspiciously. They were curious about their relationship.

They weren't mad, just curious. In fact, they were rooting for them.

"So, what's going on brother?" Enya probed, lifting an eyebrow for the effect.

"Well, it's complicated" Kane just responded.

Both of them just nodded, leaving him to his own thoughts.

Hopefully within the next few months, they would get together.

When Leah reached home, she heaved a sigh of relief. At least they didn't question. But for all she knows, they might be probing Kane.

Leah looked at her burns. They were getting better. At least it was healing faster.

She had to get ready for her 'date' with Kane. She wouldn't necessarily call it a date since they weren't exactly boyfriend girlfriend.

But she sure was excited. That goes without saying.

Taking a quick shower, she then dried her hair. She felt so much better being clean.

After that, she picked out her clothes. It was quite a difficult task, being a very picky person.

In the end, she decided on something simple and easy to move in. After all, they were going to ice skate.

It was green tank top with blue jeans. If she felt cold, she also brought along a cardigan with her.

Once she was satisfied, she tied her hair up into a bun, leaving her fringe as a finishing touch.

Not to forget, she packed her bag and waited for him to pick her up.

It was still confirmed as Kane sent her a text as confirmation despite the unforeseen circumstances.

Just to let him know, Leah decided to shoot Kane a text to let him know. There was still five minutes to 1pm.

It was originally 11 but Audrey and Enya's presence pushed back their plans.

She didn't mind though. It was fun to spend more time with them.

While waiting, she served the web, trying to calm her nervous feelings. Leah hoped she wouldn't make a fool out of herself.

Soon enough, Leah heard a knock on her door. Slipping on her good old sneakers, she opened the door.

First thing she saw was his outfit. Leah liked it. Simple yet put together.

"You are so beautiful" Leah blushed at the compliment.

"Let's go!" He smiled, stretching his hand out. Leah smiled back, placing her hands on his. His hands were much bigger compared to hers.

Kane had booked the ice skating ring to themselves but he didn't exactly tell her. He would just let it be a surprise.

It was near, also thought out by Kane. As they exited the car, Kane told her the situation. "I kinda booked the whole ice skating rink to ourselves"

"Wow, okay. Honestly, not surprised. Just billionaire things" Leah said, teasing him.

When they entered the rink, it was so quiet. A little too quiet for their own good. But they didn't care, and instead just enjoy their little hangout.

"Holy fuck! I'm going to fall. Fuck" Kane cursed. He hasn't tried ice skating. He honestly questioned why did he proposed to do ice skating.

However, seeing Leah skating happily made him feel much better. At least one of them was enjoying.

Kane admired Leah's skating skills and in general, her. She looked so beautiful and graceful.

It is a crime to look so beautiful, Kane thought.

They stayed at the rink for a few more hours, Leah teaching him to skate taking up most of the time.

"Yes! That's right Kane! You did it!" Leah cheered and jumped, but almost if not for the fast reflexes of Kane.

"Careful" Kane said. Kane held her back and their eyes both bore into each other's. It was like they were the only one's in that little world.

However, the sound of footsteps caused them to panic, breaking their little moment.

They both came back to their senses and acted like everything was fine.

It was the one of the workers. Fuck you, Kane thought. They were in the zone and he had to walk in.

"Hi Mr De Luca, your time is up for today. Thank you for choosing Ice and Skate!" The worker said. It was time for them to close.

"Okay, thank you" Kane said more calmly. Both Kane and Leah exited the ice rink and wore back their shoes.

"Dinner?" Kane proposed and Kane nodded.

"I have a place" Leah said, dragging him out of the ice rink. Kane hadn't expect that from her and was surprised.

They both arrived at a restaurant specializing in Taiwanese food.

"I remembered you wanted to try the food so let's do that now" Leah grinned at him.

Kane couldn't keep the smile off his face and nodded, being dragged in one more time.

He let Leah take the lead as after all it was her expertise. She knew what was good and after all she is part Taiwanese.

"I ordered braised beef noodles, some braised pork noodles and sticky rice dumplings first. Let's order more if we are still hungry" Leah introduced as the food arrived.

Kane couldn't even deny that the food was bad. It was like heaven to his tastebuds.

Leah actually ordered scallion pancakes as they still felt a little hungry and safe to say, it was equally as delicious.

The meal they shared was filled it laughter and joy.

They both wouldn't want this day to end but all good days come to an end.

It is a day well spent, they both thought smiling.
