A/N: Hello everyone!!! Welcome to I Don't Mind. This is the sequel to Teammates With Benefits, so if you haven't read that, I would recommend reading that first. You can technically read this as a standalone, but I would not recommend it. There is a level of basic knowledge of the characters that you have to have before you read this book. You'll understand as you go, but it's better to read the original first. It explains all of these characters' backstories.
Here's a small intro to these characters though, but if you read the original book, you know them damn well.
Derek Peterson
Closeted gay cornerback with a homophobic home life, was deathly in love with Cameron until he came out and said he was dating Aaron. This broke Derek and sent him into a spiral, causing him to do something he didn't want to do.
Adrian Sanders
The openly gay safety that plays behind Derek, he has a pretty supportive home life and is supported by his closest friends. He is extremely attracted to Derek, and he is also the only person that knows that Derek is gay.
Cameron Patterson
Openly bisexual quarterback on UCLA, he has little to no contact with his homophobic family. He is dating and extremely in love with Aaron Williams. They are high school sweethearts that used to hate each other a lot.
Aaron Williams
Openly bisexual runningback that has a super loving family that support him a lot, he is the brother of Alicia Williams, and the boyfriend of Cameron Patterson. He is deep in love with Cameron and they love each other a hell of a lot.
Devin White
Straight, 100% straight linebacker, best friend of Cameron and Adrian, he is dating Aaron's sister Alicia, and he is super in love with her as well. Just like Aaron and Cameron, nothing can really come between the two of them.
Alicia Williams
Aaron's sister, she also attends UCLA with the rest of them, she is dating Devin White and they are super in love. She is beautiful and is showered by love from Devin and showers him with love as well.
DeShaun Foster
100% straight runningback for UCLA, one of Aaron and Derek's closest friends. He is dating Aaliyah and likes her. He is a runningback along with Aaron, and he supports everything that his friends do in terms of relationships.
Kai Pierce
The best wide receiver that the rest of these guys had ever played with, he is kind of a goofball, but his family loves him, he loves him family, he is super rich, and his long time best friend is Jax Wallace.
Jax Wallace
A safety like Adrian, he is a lockdown defender but not quite as good. He also is a bit of a goofball, but his family loves him, he loves them as well, he is also super rich, and he is from San Francisco like Kai.
A/N: Just like I did in Teammates With Benefits, here is a kind of quick explanation of many basic football terms. There will be more advanced terms used when the time comes, but I'll most likely explain those when they happen.
A quarterback is the player that throws the ball to receivers, tight ends, and sometimes runningbacks. They are tasked with essentially running the team
A wide receiver is the main position that catches passes thrown by the quarterback. That's pretty much their only job.
A tight end is the position Travis Kelce plays, the only player you people probably know of. They are supposed to block on run and pass plays and catch passes.
Defensive linemen are the first line of defense against runs, and they try to get to the quarterback and tackle him, called a sack. There are two types of defensive lineman. Defensive ends are supposed to go around the offensive line and the defensive tackles are supposed to fight their way through the middle of the offensive line.
Linebackers are the second line of defense against the run, they are supposed to be able to be quick enough to cover passes and big enough to stop runningbacks. There are two types of linebacker as well. Outside linebackers usually go for sacks like defensive ends, and inside linebackers stay put and cover passes or attack the run.
Cornerbacks and safeties are the players farthest away from the quarterback, they are supposed to cover receivers and get tackles. Cornerbacks are the main coverers of the receivers, and safeties sag off a bit and watch where the quarterback is looking.
A touchdown is worth 6 points with an extra point worth 1 point. A field goal is worth 3 points.
A tackle is pretty self explanatory, it's just taking a player down on the field, his knees have to touch the grass for it to be counted.
A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback while the quarterback is behind the offensive line, still trying to pass.
On each possession, each team gets 4 chances to get 10 yards, and when they get those 10 yards, the amount of chances resets back to 4. If you don't get the 10 yards in 4 tries and you're not close enough to kick a field goal for 3 points, you punt the ball, which is dropkicking the ball 40+ yards downfield.
An interception is what happens when the quarterback throws the ball to the other team, typically to a cornerback or a safety.
A fumble is when a player on offense loses the ball. Fumbles can be recovered by players on the offense or taken by the defense, resulting in a change of possession.
A/N: Here is the introduction, thank you for choosing to read this book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing this book. Thank you!!!
