Chapter 20

Visitor

ICE (GirlxGirl)

"Hello Dealia, Missed me?"

Ooohhhh, Shiiiitttt.

Is the first thing that comes to my mind.

Run, Run, Run

Is the second.

"If you run, I will catch you." She says confidently.

I have two options, I can stay and get the shit beat out of me, or I can run and pray that I make it.

I turn away from the door and high tail it into the kitchen. I reach the back door and tear it off its hinges.

Yes! freedom.

As I'm about to leap into the air, fly away and never look back (sorry Jacob) when a hand grabs the back of my jeans and pulls me back through the kitchen door and I slam into the floor, hard enough to leave a small crater in the floor in the shape of me.

I groan and try to get up, but her hand is balled up in the front of my shirt and she's keeping me pinned.

"I thought that you'd be happy to see me." She says in cheery voice.

"Why would you ever think that?" I say as I look up at the ceiling and think about how my life is about to end.

"Do you think you can let me up now?" I ask after I've been in my crater for at least five minutes now.

I can see that she's thinking hard about it, then finally they release me and I sit up and pull myself out of my crater and dust myself off.

I turn and glare at her, it's one of my frostiest glares, but she just look at me with a bored expression. Turning to look at the backdoor that I almost made it out of, I say goodbye to my freedom. It was fun while it lasted.

If she hadn't come looking for me I wouldn't be worried about this.

"What are you doing here!" I snap turning back to face her.

"Now, now Dealia dear, is that any way to speak to your beloved mother?" She say looking offended, but I can tell it's fake because she doesn't do emotions.

"Come now Gwendolyn, we both know that you are anything but a mother." I say sweetly to her.

A flash of irritation crosses her face, but it's quickly hidden once again behind her mask.

"Can't a mother come and visit her wayward daughter every once and a while?" She asks as she goes and sits at the counter, she holds up the placemat between two fingers as if it's diseased, drops it, then wipes her hand on her perfect pants suit.

This is exactly how I remembered her, black hair back in a severe bun, make up perfectly done and clothes wrinkle free, apart from the hair we are completly different.

"It's been over four thousand years since I've seen you last, I'm sure that whatever reason your here has no thought of me and my happiness. If it did you would have stayed away." I walk over to the broken door and lean it up against the entrance, (Hey it gives me a small sense of privacy and security).

"It's not as if you've been doing anything useful with yourself, I've been watching you for a while now and any self respecting member of the Frost clan would not be caught dead working a human job or living along side them. The fact that you've mated with them is even worse." She finishes with a look of disgust on her face.

At least that's a real emotion.

"I'm no longer a member of the Frost clan, yeah I kept the name because it's cool but I want absolutley nothing to do with that world or those people." I tell her and lean back against the kitchen counter.

"Eveything alright in there ICE?"Jacob shouts from the living room.

"Everythings cool Jacob, just dealing with an unwanted guest." I tell him but my eyes stay locked on Gwendolyn's cold brown eyes.

"Ok. Shout if you need me." Gosh he's such a good friend and now I feel kinda bad that I was just going to up and leave him.

"And that's another thing, your running around with all these lowly supernatural creatures, even going as far as living with one." She scolds me.

"Hey! you don't even know me you old bag, someone seriously needs to take the stick out your ass so the shit can come out of the right hole instead of your mouth!" Jacob shouts as he floats into the kitchen.

He must have been listening in.

"I'm awsome and people can't help but be attracted to my awsomeness, just because you're miserable don't drag the rest of us awsome people down with you." He finishes floating right in front of Gwendolyn's face.

I burst out laughing and Gwendolyn's face shows pure shock. She didn't believe people would actually talk to her like that.

Then I can feel her magic building. I quickly summon mine and cancel hers out. I push off from the counter and stalk towards her.

"You are a guest, an unwanted guest at that, how dare you come into my home and try to attack my friend. I didn't attack you when I first saw you because in small part of the universe you actually are my mother but we both know that I can kick your ass if I choose too. So show me some respect in my own house or I'll put you out." I say furious.

She had just tried to banish Jacob and who knows where she would have sent him.

She looks shocked at my words for a second but once again composes herself.

"What do you want Gwendolyn? Why are you here?" I ask exasperated.

"I need you to come home." She says saying the words that I have dreaded hearing for the last four thousand years.

"No." I tell here looking directly in her eyes so she can see how serios I am.

"If this is about what happend the time before you left......."

"It has everything to do with that, but that was just the final straw. I had to leave, besides I have a wonderful life now and relationships that I have to maintain." I tell her as Amelia's face appears in my head.

"You mean that human job you do? and that fae trollop you're consorting with? There are far more suitable mates for someone of your position than a lowly fae." She says with an air of superiority.

Did she just say 'trollop'? Do people still use that word?

"She's not a 'trollop', she's important too me so watch how you speak about her. My job is also important and there is no way that I'm going to leave it or my life behind to return to that place." I tell her and cross my arms over my chest while looking down at her.

For a second I see fear on her face then she covers it.

Damn woman, your like a robot.

"Why do you want me to go back?" I narrow my eyes at her.

"I know it can't be out of the goodness of your heart or that you miss me. Something had to have happened to have made you show up on my doorstep."

"There is a reason I have come to get you Dealia, but for the record, I have missed you." She says and I roll my eyes at her fake warmth.

"Spit it out Gwendolyn." I say

"The clans are going to war. A war that will spill out into the human world and disrupt your so called happy life. I, No, we of the Frost need your help to stop it."

I sigh and look at Jacob, whose ghostly eyebrows are raised.

"ICE, you've never once told me about your past or even where your from and I've tried not to pry. But if what this old bat is saying is true, you've got to at least do something." He gives me this speech and I look at him like he is insane.

There is no way in hell I'm going back there.

I look from her then back to Jacob.

"No." I tell them, I turn away and walk back to the front door and grab my keys.

"I'm heading out Jacob and Gwendolyn, it was nice seeing you again." I slam the door behind me, hop on my bike and speed off.

There's no way I'm ever going back there.
