You know those crazy nature people, usually obsessed with hunting, fishing, boating, or some other boring natural crap? If you don't know anyone like that, I mean, chances are you are that person.
Until today, I'd considered my great Uncle Jay to be the primary candidate for this slot in my life. I actually have only communicated with the guy in form of ten dollar Starbucks cards every year on my birthday, but nevertheless, he still played the part well.
Turns out, people can have multiple people that fit all the stereotypes of 'people you know in your life.'
And today? Well, I guess I've gained another nature one.

"Please Lexa?" Elle looks at me before walking back to the small dresser in the corner of her room.
I groan and flop on her bed letting my legs dangle over the edge, "What is the importance of this trip anyways?"
"It's tradition or some shit-" Elle's dad walks in, "It is an educational experience," He raises an eyebrow towards Elle, "An educational experience I suggest you finish packing for. Mason will be here to pick you up in a half hour, and it's best to be prompt."
"Prompt, shmompt." Elle smirks after her father leaves the room, "The parties there are absolutely lit, and the guys there are like total golds."
I chuckle, remembering her bizarre system of using metallic colors to rank the hotness of guys.
"Fine-"
"YES!" Elle exclaims, "It's so much fun, you'll be counting down the days till next month."
"Next month?" I raise an eyebrow, confused.
"Every month we do some trip thing, most of the time up to the cabin, but we've been other places as well. Mason's dad pays for it, he's like totally loaded."
"Must be where he got his arrogance from." I retort.
Elle laughs and shoves a few more things into her bag before practically sitting on it to get it closed, "We'll just run down to your flat quick and grab your stuff. They'll be here soon."
"Who's they?" I question.
"Everyone." Elle responds, "Mason, Jared, Parker. And me. One big happy group of unhappy campers. And now you're apart of it. After you pass Jared's stupid initiation ritual of course."
"What's initiation? I don't give pity blows, all my apologies to Jared." I bite my lip.
Elle laughs, "No, it's nothing like that."
"Well, what is it like then?"
"Can't tell you." She respond with a smirk, "If I told you, I'd have to kill you."
"Alright, kill me. Least if that happened I wouldn't have to spend the entire weekend with Mason Derivan."
-
"What the fuck Elle, you didn't say she was coming!" Mason glares at her from the backseat of a red Porsche, "Look, were already crammed enough as it is, there isn't any room. Jared and Park already have to double up.
Parker gives us a overdramatized disgusted look.
"I'll just grab my car then." Elle grins cheekily, "Who's coming with me?"
Parker and Jared immediately stumble out of the car.
"What the hell guys, who's going to drive now? I'm trapped in the backseat due to your genius ideas." Mason complains.
Although in all reality, he was in fact trapped in the backseat. Suitcases were piled up on both ends and in the middle sat a not so smiley fuckboy acting 'man' named Mason. Derivan.
"Lex can drive." Elle chirps up, ushering me into the front seat.
Can this day get any worse?
Turns out yes.
-
"Alexis?"
"Yes?" Stupid Boxer Boy has been asking my questions for the past hour and a half. Mostly pointless. And the rest just plain stupid. I sigh.
"I could have you sighing like that someday." He smirks.
"With what? Extra small?" I retort.
"You would know exactly just not how extra small I need. Someday, maybe if you're lucky, or in your dreams, you can see just exactly how un-small-"
"Okay first of all, ew. That wouldn't be a dream, it'd be a nightmare." I shudder.
"Lex?" He questions softly.
I glance at him out of the corner of my eye, "Yes?"
"Could you possibly drive anymore like my grandma?" He chuckles.
"Your criticism is highly annoying, and extremely unwanted. Go give a blowjob to something. Preferably a knife of some sort."
He rolls his eyes, "Aren't you just little miss friendly."
"Never proclaimed to be."
"Why again is Elle so insistent on you coming with us?" He raises an eyebrow and props his elbows up onto a pile of suitcases.
"I don't know exactly. She said something about hot guys."
"Well, sorry to disappoint you princess, but I'll be the hottest one there."
"As if." I laugh.
"The funny thing is you think I'm joking here." He chuckles, "I'm not."
"Well, you may as well be, since not even in your dreams would that be true."
"You'll see someday." He smirks.
"Oh yeah. Someday. The same day I see the extra smalls in use I'm guessing? Which will be never." I chuckle.
"Of course it'll be never. You won't ever see any extra small."
Ha. Looks like I finally stumped him.
"Because the extra smalls are currently living in a little box I like to call, the past."
"Classy." I stick my tongue out at the mirror.
"Are you asking for first base already Lexa? I didn't know you wanted to skip lip and jump right into tongue. I mean, fine with me by all means but-"
"Ew, Mason! I don't want any bases with you, I don't even want to be playing in the same game as you."
"Well princess, looks like you don't have a choice in that one. You're stuck with me." He grins cheekily.
"Actually, that is kind of a sick thought when less than five minutes ago you said my driving reminded you of your good ol granny. I didn't know you liked older women that much Box-I mean- Mason." I correct myself.
"At least I have a chance with women."
"Well that's a relief, for a second there I thought you were waiting to come out of the-"
"OW!" I jump as his hand squeezes my thigh.
"You like that babygirl?" He winks and slowly massages the spot, now turning red I might add, gently. I watch, practically mesmerized at his soft smooth palms on my skin.
Snapping out of it, I pick up his hand and shove it back towards him frowning, "Rebuckle your seatbelt."
"Well I'll have to." He responds, "Since you're driving and all."
"Close your fracking mouth, Derivan."
"Make me." He hints.
Alright. Guess he wants life to be difficult for him.
I slowly lower my foot into the brake pedal and pull over to the side of the road. I turn, leaning over the center console and closer towards him.
His eyes look directly into mine and never breaking the stare, I bite my lip, pulling it into my mouth and releasing it.
His hands find there way to my waist and he grips my hips, holding my weight over the console between the two front seats. I lean closer, "Mas-"
"License and registration please."
Wait, what?
This has to be a dream.
Wait no. Most likely a nightmare, Boxer Boy is in it after all.
"'Ma'am lets go, I need to see some papers." A cop holds his stand outside of the car, "Any day now."
I awkwardly climb back into the front seat, "Officer, what did I do wrong?"
He gives me a blatant stare, "You pulled over on one of the busiest highways in America so you could make out with your boyfriend." He says in a low gruff voice, "Kids these days." He mutters.
"No, I, uhm, no there is none of that-" I ramble.
Mason, who's now moved an enormous pile of suitcases, steps out of the car and leads the officer away a few feet. They talk for a good five minutes. Don't ask me what they're saying, I have no clue. All I hear is low mumbles and occasionally a pointing gesture at either the car or me. Probably me.
He walks back to the car and climbs into the front seat, pulling me onto his lap, "And a good day to you too, Officer."
The second the cop walks away I'm turned around, my hand kilometers away from slapping Mason across the face. No right, to grab me, and put me on his lap like that. Normally in this situation I wouldn't freak out, but see this is Mason, and he generally leads to freak out types of situations.
Sadly, he catches my hand before it has the chance to come in contact with his stupid perfect jawline, "Better luck next time, princess."
-
The rest of the ride passes quickly, mostly because after opening one of the bags I found a pair of headphones in Parkers and I've been casually listening to music while occasionally nodding or giving a small okay in Mason's direction.
After what seems like forever later, we arrive at the cabin. It's just barely dusk, and the sky is starting to transform into a private lakefront show or beautiful colors.
"Where were you guys?" Elle practically yells at me, while making direct eye contact with Mason, "What possibly could've caused a four hour delay?"
My mouth drops. Four hours? How?
My question is immediately answered, "I may have taken a little detour. Sorry Lexa."
I glare at his laughing frame as he walks into the door carrying only his stuff. He very kindly picked around all mine, couldn't do one nice thing for a change.
"Cmon, Lex." Elle sighs and grabs her stuff, "Park and JJ can come get their own."
We walk up the steps into the pretty cabin. It isn't huge but it sure as hell isn't small.
The outside is covered in a cedar looking wood, creating a perfect log cabin vibe. Stepping inside, I see the same theme is continued, with flourishes of royal purple and whites. The whole thing must've been done by Elle. It's totally tumblr goals.
"So, Lex, you're with me." Elle says, "Our room is upstairs-"
"Woah woah," Jared winks, "I assumed Lexa would be rooming with me."
"And you assumed why?" I coyly respond and make sure to wink in his direction as well.
He chuckles, "Or you could room with Parker and ElleBelle could come with me."
"That nickname is absolutely horrifying." Elle points out, as she picks up the remainder of her bags and brings them to our room.
"Like your face." Parker jumps in. Elle responds by casually flipping him off and then walking into our room.
It's on the second floor and very cutely decorated. Unlike the rest of the house, this room seems more modern, with large windows, and a huge double bed, with a teal colored comforter. Next to the bed lies a small end table complete with a lamp with a lavender colored shade. A lavender shag rug also covers most of the floor. I plop my pile of suitcases onto the bed, "So, what now?" I look around, before plopping onto the bed myself.
"Now." Elle rubs her hands together, "The litness begins."
Dear lord, help me.
Hey I know it's been a while. Was going to discontinue this, but then logged on to 800+ reads on four chapters and a few book reviews that were really kind and inspired me to keep writing. Hopefully I still have some active voters and commenters. Love you all ~tinylighthearted
