The secret to your love
I would place the treasure beneath my heart
Lock it all up,
And throw away the key
I would never give it up

Six Months Later ...
"If something is wrong, you call me." Remy pressed his claws against Luke's chest just enough to remind him what happened last time.
"I swear on my life, if she even so much as burps, I'll call you." Luke assured.
"Come on Remy, she'll be fine with Noah and Luke. And my dads will be here in ten minutes." Genevieve said, watching the scene before her.
Remy huffed, pushing his claws into Luke's chest for extra measure. "You are so lucky, Genevieve's a forgiving person."
Luke bowed his head in submission and in pain. He knew he had done wrong. He knew he screwed up beyond repair, but he nor Genevieve wanted to give up the friendship they had.
Remy walked over to Noah, who held Ava in his arms. Remy kissed Ava's cheek as she peered up at him with those pale violet eyes. "Dada."
Remy's heart warmed at the sound of his daughter calling him. "Yeah, dada is leaving, but he and mama will be back before you know it."
Remy caressed her chubby cheek, before glancing at Noah. "Please, call me if anything is wrong."
"We will."
Remy nodded and walked over to Genevieve. Just as they were about to leave, Remy turned around again. "Do you know where everything is?"
Luke refrained from groaning. "Yes. Now go before you are late. Therapists are expensive and they don't wait forever."
Remy thought of the that morning as he and Genevieve had played peek-a-boo with Ava. He sent that mental imagine to Ava, making the little girl giggle.
Satisfied he placed his hand on Genevieve's lower back, before they left her parents house. They were seated in the car and on their way to their couples therapy session.
-
A month after Ava's birth, Remy thought it would be good for him and Genevieve if they had a therapy session every week. The first few weeks after Mary-Jane's death had been really hard for him, and he could feel Genevieve and his relationship suffering because of his closed-off behavior. He had never meant for her to feel less important. Genevieve and Ava would always mean the world to him. Without his two girls he didn't want to live.
Remy continued to shower Genevieve with love, even more so now that he had seen how easy it was to lose a person you love. It was twisted to say, but the death of his sister made him treasure every moment with his family more than he ever had.
Remy and Genevieve weren't perfect, but they were perfect for one another. They brought out sides in each other that no other person could. Regardless of their mate bond, Remy was sure they would have fallen for each other sooner or later.
In Remy's eyes Genevieve had grown so much in the last two years. She had gained a healthy amount of confidence. She was comfortable in her body. She initiated things between her and Remy. She stood up for herself on the rare occasion that they fought.
Genevieve had changed a nice amount over the time, but she hadn't changed too much that Remy felt he was engaged to whole different person.
The wedding was pushed back a few years. Genevieve and Remy had agreed that they wanted their wedding to be something Ava could remember. The couple was planning on five years, ten at the most. They weren't in a rush to get married because in their hearts they were already bound for life.
And as things were going good, Remy and Genevieve wanted their outside relationships to get better. Remy was working on his relationship with Caroline. They hadn't reached the point where he could say -I love you mom-, but their relationship was on it's way up.
-
"Baby, can you check up on Ava please?" Remy was worried about his daughter and they hadn't even been gone fifteen minutes.
Genevieve leaned over the car console and kissed his cheek. "I'll call just so you can see that she is in great hands."
Genevieve held the phone between her and Remy, the dialing of the numbers loud.
"Hey." It was Nick who answered.
"How's Ava?" Remy asked just seconds after Nick picked up.
You could hear Nick chuckling over the line. "She's perfect. She's playing with Luke and Noah."
"Put her on the phone."
Shuffling could be heard over the phone, before Ava's high pitched giggling.
An instant relief washed over Remy, before he ended the call.
"I told you Luke was good with children." Genevieve smiled at her mate. She loved that Remy was so worried about Ava's wellbeing.
Remy flashed her a small smile, before focusing back on the road. "I know, I know."
_
With some surprising encouragement from Remy, Genevieve was ready to patch things up with Luke. The man himself had made the first move. He had called Genevieve and apologized sincerely, explaining his side of the story. Genevieve hadn't wanted to forgive him the first time he called, but as he continued to call and even flew down to visit her, Genevieve was slowly missing her best friend.
Luke knew that his decision that night had left a huge scar in their friendship, but to this day both of them were working hard on finding a new middle. Noah had even explained himself that his alpha had given him the title rogue because of his bond to another male. A Rogue didn't survive long unless they found more rogues and banded together.
Remy might have not wanted anything to do with Luke, but he wasn't going to dictate Genevieve's friendships especially because this one meant so much to her. Remy couldn't even hate Luke for what he did, because he knew deep down if Genevieve would have been in the same situation as Noah, then he would have handled as Luke did.
Despite knowing the answer to why Luke didn't show up, Gen and Remy still were mad that he hadn't taken the time to check on Gen after the situation with Noah. And that was one thing Luke had no explanation for.
-
"How long do you think it will be until our family finds out?" Genevieve asked, her fingers intertwined with Remy's.
Remy glanced from the wheel over to Genevieve. "I think the pack will find out sooner."
-
The pack was coming to terms with Remy leading the pack. After having everybody situated with a roof on top of their heads and a source of money, things started to look up. Remy insisted Sundays was their "pack" day. The whole pack would meet up and talk about important things, eat a rather large dinner together and then it was off to their homes again.
So far Remy hadn't had any problems with the pack seeing his vampire side. He didn't flaunt it in their face, nor did they make any comments about his too many fangs, pale skin or blood thirst. They had even supported him when it came to the full moon. King and Harvey were their for Genevieve and Ava, not that they needed much help, but the gesture was nice.
The next full moon was coming up in a few weeks and they wanted to see if the shift for Remy could be prevented. The idea was to lock Remy up as usual, but to have pictures of Ava and Genevieve in the room, as well as hearing the sound of their voices.
The method was used to tame Alpha wolves, that were going through stress or if they were "stuck" in their second form.
-
"If someone finds out, it going to be Lydia."
"I know, she's already suspicious." Remy replied, turning on to the highway.
-
Lydia Steele was determined to find some piece of evidence to prove that Remy shouldn't lead the pack. It wasn't that she hated Remy, but she hated the thought of a "bloodsucker" taking over her pack. So far she showed up with empty hands. Remy was protecting the pack just as much as they were protecting his mate and child.
Remy wasn't into all the alpha activities, but he was there for the pack almost like some type of "elder". He was wise for his young age and that was something Lydia couldn't deny.
With her dislike for vampires, Lydia wasn't so found of Maddox hanging around Remy and Ava too much. Lydia hadn't gone as far as forbidding it, because Maddox liked the Monroe family.
Maddox sought out the attention from Remy. It wasn't necessarily a father-and-son bond, but Remy had the ability to comfort Maddox on his bad days. The boy was going through a rough time and he had nobody but his nana and Remy.
Mary Jane would have been his first friend, someone he could relate to on a weird aspect. In the pack there weren't many young children, and none of them could relate to Maddox. Not one of them had lost their parents or even a family member. They had never even experienced something that left scars mentally or emotionally.
Remy hadn't wanted to tell Maddox about the death of Mary Jane, but after the pup had asked about her a few times, Remy sat down and explained that she had gone away.
The young pup wasn't stupid though. He had known something was wrong and slowly the world was looking like a darker place.
-
Two hours had past since they left the house and their therapy session was coming to an end. The sun was beaming down on the couple and a slight breeze brushing against their skin. They stood on top of a rocky cliff, looking over the city.
Remy stood behind Genevieve as he held her to his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around her and his lips pressed to her neck.
"Sooner or later someone will realize we are not seeing a professional therapist." Remy chuckled, before turning Genevieve's head to kiss her deeply.
___THE END___
A different type of epilogue, but it was the only way I saw fit to end the story as well as tying all loose ends.
If you didn't understand the last line: Everyone thinks Remy & Gen are visiting an actual therapist, but they are not. They have a session of Remy-and-Genevieve-Therapy every week.
