SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS!!!

Dedication to all the fans. Thank you so much for the support. I'm truly grateful!!

When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

..

Two weeks later ...

Remy never believed in life after death, but for her he wanted to. He wanted her to feel protected, to feel safe even though he couldn't do that for her anymore. Remy wanted her to know that he'd never forget her, that he loved her so much. His heart ached for her.

The cold evening wind caressed Remy's skin, as he kneeled in front of the tombstone. He traced the engraved words with the tips of his fingers, like he had done the morning before.

She didn't deserve an end like the one she had received. It wasn't her time and things didn't just happen for a reason! No matter what anyone said, Remy knew she had had so many years in front of her. If there was a god, how could he have done this to her?

Remy hadn't been at the funeral. He didn't want to.

He was passed the five stages of grief, but he couldn't just continue his life as if she had never been a part of it. She made Remy feel human, she made him happy.

She had the biggest smile Remy had ever seen. She had eyes that shined with happiness, like the last time he had seen her. Despite the pain, she never failed to have a smile on her face. She was just a ball of happiness.

Remy placed the purple tulips on her grave. Purple and Pink tulips had been her favorite combination, despite her favorite flower being daisy.

Remy didn't know if it was normal, but now that she was dead he seemed to notice the tiniest thing about her. For example, she didn't like tomatoes but loved ketchup, or the fact that she loved cats but preferred to have a dog.

It was silly things like that, that made her who she was. Somebody Remy loved with all his heart, somebody Remy would never forget.

Remy reached into his bag and pulled out the one item he wanted to keep. Just touching that one item brought back so many memories.

Remy wished he could have spent more time with her. What he wouldn't give to hold her in his arms, one more time.

Remy sat on the cold ground and flipped the old book opened. The words were embedded into his brain. But he'd gladly take an hour every week to come see her, almost like he had done before she passed away.

" ... And they lived happily ever after." Remy tucked the children's book back into his bag.

He sat there for a few minutes, just staring at the words on the tombstone.

Mary-Jane Black

Adored Daughter, Sister, best friend

Always in our hearts

Remy didn't understand. She had had a minor cold, nothing to worry about. He had left her bedroom that night, with the thought that he'd see her the following week.

Mary Jane had been driven to the hospital in an ambulance, with severe symptoms of Pneumonia, dying just hours later. Caroline had called him the same night his beautiful daughter was born.

It was truly twisted; a new person arriving on  earth just for one to leave. Even more messed up, was the fact that his daughter looked a lot like Mary Jane.

They shared the same blonde curls, rosy chubby cheeks, long eyelashes and a big smile. Ava Rose was absolutely adorable.

Remy glanced at Ava. She was nestled in her infant car seat, violet eyes gazing up at Remy with curiosity. Remy caressed her rosy cheek gently. Her skin was colder compared to Remy's, and her skin was paler than anyone had expected. Remy kissed her forehead.

"Better get you back home, before mommy starts to worry." Remy smiled at the newborn.

Remy trailed his fingers once more over the cold tombstone. "I love you so much. Never forget that." Remy whispered quietly, wishing he could hug the girl one more time.

Remy lifted the infant car seat, and walked out of the graveyard, his heart aching every time he thought about Mary Jane.

...

Remy walked into their new house with a sleeping Ava in his arms. She was a tiny baby and very light. It wasn't often that Ava wasn't in Remy's arms. He'd carry her anywhere he went, if she wasn't latched on to Genevieve's breast. The sweetest moment was when Ava would fall asleep, curled up on her father's chest.

The two had bonded from the moment Remy had her in his arms. The only person that could distract him from the loss of his sister was Ava Rose. Not even Genevieve could distract him.

Remy walked into the spacious living room, where Genevieve sat with her fathers. Nick and Spencer had flown down to Maui two days after Ava was born. So far the two men had been great help around the house and with the pack.

Remy walked around to where Gen was sitting and he placed a short kiss on her cheek. "I'm going into the bedroom."

Genevieve caressed his face gently, her smooth hand against his five o'clock shadow. "Do you want me to take her for a while?"

Remy glanced at Nick and Spencer and then back to Genevieve. "I've got her. Spend some time with your dads."

Genevieve pecked his lips softly. "Okay, I'll be upstairs later."

Remy nodded, looking at her dads again, before walking upstairs with Ava in his arms.

In the master bedroom, Remy changed Ava's diaper, afterwards laying down on the king sized bed with her on his chest. He wasn't tired. He wasn't feeling anything really.

He rubbed Ava's back softly, as she snuggled further into his chest. In honor of his sister, he had named his daughter Ava just like she had suggested.

Ava Rose Monroe would have had the best aunt in the world.

Remy kissed Ava's forehead and lightly touched her tiny hand that fisted his shirt. He wished he could just sleep for while, not think about anything. At that moment anything was better than feeling the loss of his only sister.

...

"Don't let him spiral into depression." Spencer commented on Remy's behavior.

Genevieve frowned. "He just lost his sister. I think it's okay for him not to be happy 24/7."

Nick patted Genevieve's thigh lightly. "Your father is right. Don't let Remy shut you out. You need to communicate now more than ever. Maybe you didn't lose a sister, but you and your baby almost died. You need the comfort of your mate."

"I'm fine." Genevieve shook her head. "And I don't want to ask that of him."

Genevieve had barely made it out of the coven house alive. She had gone into cardiac arrest twice that night, her heart almost giving out on her for a third time. Levi had successfully delivered Ava without the tiny bundle facing any major complications. The only problems that arose were towards the end. Genevieve had almost bled out to death on the operation table, and her heart had been under a lot amount of stress. Remy's blood donation had helped immensely. He saved her life that night.

"Ask that of him? He's your mate, soon to be husband. What do you mean you can't ask that of him?" Spencer was serious, his eyes slowly getting darker. "He's been distant the whole time we've been here, and I don't think that's fair to you."

Genevieve felt like the young school girl again, being scolded by her fathers. "You don't know Remy. The loss of his sister is hitting him really hard. He isn't going to be over the moon the next few weeks and that's okay with me. As long as he takes a few minutes to hold his daughter, than I'm happy."

"He should take a few minutes to hold the both of you. He didn't just lose a sister, he almost lost you." Nick agreed with Spencer. Perfect mate Remy, wasn't treating their daughter right, like she had claimed over the phone.

"You're right." Genevieve stood up and faced her dads. "He almost lost me, but he didn't."

Spencer stood up, his arms crossed. With his 6'2 height, he towered over his daughter. "Genevieve Hope Van Acker, where do you think you are going?"

"I'm not a child, that won't work anymore." Genevieve turned her back to her fathers and began walking up the spiral stairs. "I'll see you in the morning."

Her fathers sighed, before making their way to their hotel downtown.

..

Genevieve reached for Ava, as the tiny girl slept on her father's chest. Remy opened his eyes at the slight movement and glanced at Genevieve. "She's fine. I already changed her diaper."

Genevieve smiled softly at her mate. "I just wanted to move her into her crib."

Remy nodded, afterwards kissing Ava on top of her head. "Can we talk?"

Genevieve's body froze at Remy's words. She slowly nodded and carried Ava to her crib across the room. "Y-yeah. Is something wrong?"

Remy followed Genevieve and ended up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, as they glanced at their sleeping daughter.

"I heard what your father's said." Remy said softly, no obvious emotion laced in his voice.

Genevieve gently pushed his hands away, while walking back over to their bed. "Remy, don't do this. Don't force yourself to act a way you don't feel."

"You know I love you." Remy responded, his grip tightening on the railing of the crib.

"I know you do. I've never doubted your feelings towards me." Genevieve pulled off her shirt, as she stood in front of the wooden dresser. She pulled one of Remy's shirts over her head, before taking off her jeans. "I know you love me. Don't listen to what Nick and Spencer said."

"But they are right." Remy hugged Genevieve from behind again, his arms wrapped around her shoulders. "I've lost my sister, but I'm so lucky to have you and our baby in my life. I haven't been there for you and I'm so sorry."

Tears were running down his cheeks as he hugged Genevieve tighter to his chest. "I love you so much, Genevieve."

"I love you too, Remy." She leaned further into his chest, kissing the back of his hand softly.

..

Remy would have never thought that he'd have a family. He had always been alone, always the odd one out. Rumors had been told about him, about the dangerous hybrid. How he was heartless and the fact that he wouldn't have a mate. Remy had believed those things himself. He was destined to be alone, but then he had had a family again and years later he had the greatest experience of meeting Genevieve -the love of his life.

With a beautiful daughter and an amazing mate, he didn't do bad -being the hybrid and all.

THE END - BOOK ONE FROM THE HYBRID SERIES

****

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER :(

The epilogue will tie all loose ends and will also be posted after I announce the winner for the one-shot contest.

This final chapter wasn't much of anything. But then again it shows how both characters have evolved with the help of the other person. Genevieve feels comfortable in her body and she isn't as insecure anymore. Remy is still in the process of learning that he needs to open up here and there and have trust in his family and friends.

Pretty please leave your thoughts on the whole story. And thank you so much for reading, voting and commenting!! I couldn't have finished their story without you. <3

Check out the other two stories I posted and leave a comment on which one you'd like to read. Candy Kisses has the first chapter posted & Almost Impossible has a summary posted.
