"Luke didn't know about the rape. Give him a god damn break!" Noah snapped, a low growl following.
"Tell him to answer his phone next time I call." Genevieve snapped back at Noah, before ending the call.
Genevieve could feel her heart racing in her chest and her mouth became dry. Dizziness took over, as she slumped to the ground unconscious.
..
"Remy ..." Genevieve dragged out his name, a slight pout on her face.
Remy continued to hold his mate bridal style as he brought them to their destination. "No, I don't want you passing out again."
"I doubt I'll faint just by walking." Genevieve disagreed.
Remy shook his head, following the path to the hidden waterfall. "You fainted twice on Tuesday and another time yesterday. What you need is bed rest, but I promised you a weekend, just you and me and that's what we are going to do."
Genevieve huffed quietly, but wrapped her arms tighter around Remy's neck. "Okay."
Remy pecked her forehead, a small smile on his face. "We're almost there anyway, just a few more steps."
"You know, you don't have to do this. We could have just stayed at the house." Genevieve knew that Remy had been stressed the past few days. He didn't have to take her out, or do something expensive just for them to have fun together.
"I know, but I've been planning this for a while." Remy said, as he set Gen down on her feet.
The warm rays of sunlight caressed their skin, and the trickling of the waterfall replaced the silent. They were now in the secluded part of the forest with one of the best waterfalls on Maui. It was the same waterfall where Remy gave Genevieve her first session of Remy-therapy.
Remy made fast work to set up their blanket and the small snacks they bought, as Genevieve walked closer to the edge of the water. She could see her reflection on the surface of the water and gasped a little.
Her brown skin had lost a huge amount of it's color and she looked almost ... dead. The pregnancy glow that most women talked about was absolutely not the case for Gen. She reached up and traced her dry lips. How could Remy want to kiss her? Genevieve looked worse than she had previously thought and now she understood why Remy was worried all the time.
Remy wrapped his arms around Genevieve, holding her to his chest as they both glanced at their reflection. "You'll always be beautiful to me." He whispered softly, his cold lips brushing against the shell of her ear.
Genevieve wanted to ask him if he was serious, but she knew if she did then he would tell her yes because that was the person Remy was.
"Let's get in the water, baby." Remy pushed the thin straps of her dress down her shoulders, his fingertips skimming her soft skin along the way.
Genevieve blushed and bit on her lower lip, as Remy proceeded to undress her, leaving her in a red bikini. Remy turned her around so they were facing each other, before taking a step back to undress himself. The whole procedure was turning Genevieve on, the way Remy's muscles flexed beneath his smooth skin, the v-line that led to his impressive ©ock, his seductive smile as he winked at her.
Genevieve's breath hitched in her throat, as Remy advanced towards her. The man still had the same affect on her that he did a year ago. That was something both of them enjoyed, especially Remy.
Remy leaned in close, his hard abs touching Genevieve's swollen belly. He gently tilted her head up, his large hands tickling the sensitive skin of her neck. Genevieve braced herself against him, her fingertips clutching at the toned muscles in his upper arms. Remy stared at her with suppressed passion, wanting nothing more than to make love to her, to feel her soft skin pressed against his own.
"Don't ... don't look at me like that." Genevieve blushed, while looking at Remy from beneath her long thick lashes.
"Like what?" Remy asked, yet he continued to stare at her with heated eyes.
"You know what I mean." Genevieve hid her face in Remy's bare chest, his icy skin cooling her heated cheeks.
Remy chuckled softly, before kissing Genevieve's neck, licking and nipping at her heated flesh. "Do you want me to bite you?"
"I-if you can't ... then I don't want to either." Genevieve said quietly, her heart racing within her chest.
Remy kissed her neck once more. "This is going to be a long three months, ... but it will so be worth it, when we do."
With Genevieve in the end stages of her pregnancy, sex was not advised, even more so because of the stress it would put on her heart. And after the pregnancy it was recommended to wait at least eight weeks.
Time and time again, they'd get turned on, the desire bubbling between them, but each time one of them would come to their senses, often Remy, despite having a raging hard on that strained against his briefs.
Genevieve chuckled, before stepping out of Remy's embrace. "Let's get in the water."
..
"Do you think, she'll be a quiet baby?" Genevieve asked, fingers intertwined with Remy's as he rubbed along her large baby bump.
"She'll be a beautiful baby, with a beautiful mommy." Remy smiled, the stubble on his jawline pricking Genevieve's right cheek.
The couple sat outside on their laid out picnic blanket, the sun beaming down on them as the evening air brushed against their skin. Remy sat behind Genevieve, as she sat in between his strong thighs after hours of playful activities in the water.
"Remy you're literally the only man that would answer with that." Genevieve laughed, her brown skin collecting some color again as she enjoyed the rest of the day with her mate.
"You're the only woman that will receive such an answer from me." Remy kissed her temple.
"You're the biggest sweet talker I know and I love you for that." Genevieve grinned, happiness filling her heart.
Genevieve loved Remy so much, just saying I love you felt like her feelings for Remy were underrated. The word love didn't do justice to how much Genevieve felt for Remy. And she was more than happy to say that he was hers and she was his.
"We should decide on a name." Remy caressed her baby bump. He couldn't wait for his first daughter to be born. Remy was going to be a father, something he never thought would happen. Of course that was before he met Genevieve.
"You can decide on her first name and I'll decide on her middle name?" Genevieve looked up at Remy from over her shoulder.
Remy nodded. "Well we narrowed it down to three names; Rose, Vanessa and Ava."
"How about Vanessa Rose?" Genevieve suggested, while biting on the inside of her cheek.
"Are you sure?" Remy kissed her cheek.
Genevieve looked at him again, her eyebrows raised. "Do you not like the name?"
Remy smoothed out her eyebrow with his thumb. "Of course I do, but we can name her whatever you want."
"Vanessa Rose has a great daddy." Genevieve pecked Remy's strong jawline.
Remy's phone started to ring, interrupting their evening. Remy pulled the phone out of the back pocket of his jeans, checking the caller ID, afterwards stuffing it back into his pocket.
"Why didn't you answer?" Genevieve asked, although deep down she was glad he hadn't.
"This is our day, plus it was only Lydia." Remy shrugged, as he began to message Genevieve's shoulders.
Genevieve wasn't so fond of the other woman, but who was she to hate the old lady? Lydia had an ego bigger than Texas and judging eyes that were cold and lifeless. As long as she took good care of her grandson, then Genevieve would just avoid her as much as she could.
Avoiding. Genevieve had been avoiding the entire pack the past week. They didn't verbally express their thoughts on Genevieve's pregnancy, but she could tell just by the looks they gave her. They were judging her because she was having a vampire child.
"Would you have taken on the position as alpha, if our daughter wasn't biologically yours?" Genevieve asked.
The question had been bugging her ever since Remy took the position as alpha. Genevieve wanted nothing more than for Remy to be happy. If he was only taking on the position to secure their safety, was he really going to be happy?
Remy kissed her temple and intertwined their fingers. "Honestly no, because our child wouldn't have been in danger. She would have been completely human, reducing the chances of rouge attacks and all the other things that may happen in the future."
Genevieve nodded slowly. That's what she had expected, because Remy was a man who'd do anything to keep his family safe.
"Do you ever wonder what really happened that night?" Remy questioned, while wrapping his arms tighter around his family.
"Would it be wrong to say I do think about the night, probably more than I should?" Genevieve asked quietly, leaning further into Remy's chest.
Brushing back the fallen hair on her forehead, Remy used his other hand to give her much smaller hand a comforting squeeze. "Of course not. It's a natural response to want to know if something happened to oneself in the past."
"Even though I can't remember what happened that night, I still get this gut feeling that it was my fault. I'm twenty five years old, I should be able to protect myself. I get nightmares where you tell me that you don't love me anymore because I'm used and dirty, because I'm pregnant with another mans child." Genevieve confessed, her heart racing with anxiety as she tightened her grip on Remy's hand.
"You can't think like that. We don't know what happened, so we don't know if it could have been prevented. All you need to know is that I love you now and I will love you forever. The same goes for any child you give birth to. I really do love you baby and I want you to marry me." Remy pulled the engagement box out of his bag, before showing the ring to Genevieve.
Genevieve could feel her fingers tremble and her eyes water. She glanced at Remy from over her shoulder, a shaky smile on her face. Her heart was ponding twice as fast and she could feel the familiar dizziness coming on, but she pushed it back.
"Of course!" Genevieve grinned, leaning in to kiss Remy as best as she could from that angle.
Remy kissed her hard, but he could feel her grip on him loosening.
"Don't faint before I put the ring on." Remy chuckled lightly.
"I love you Remy Monroe." Genevieve laughed, watching as Remy slid the diamond ring on her finger. "It's beautiful."
"So are you baby, so are you." Remy kissed his fiancé passionately.
They were a couple that would be together now and forever.
