Ch.34 Naked

The Hybrid ( BOOK I & II)

***UNEDITED + THE COVER FOR BOOK TWO (THAT IS NOT REMY. IT IS THE NEW MALE LEAD)***

Tears streamed down Genevieve's temples as she silently cried, after listening to the paramedic tell Remy about the baby.

Remy glanced at Genevieve for answers, his face emotionless. When he saw the fear in Genevieve's eyes, he knew that the paramedic was telling the truth. Remy was frozen for a second, before he removed the oxygen mask on Genevieve's face. He kissed her softly, afterwards putting the oxygen mask back on.

"Everything is going to be fine. We are going to be fine." Remy assured Genevieve, timidly placing his hand on Genevieve's lower stomach.

.

.

"Family Van Acker." The pack doctor called, as he walked into the small waiting room.

Remy, Spencer and Nick were up within seconds, all three men awaiting Genevieve's diagnosis.

The older werewolf led the trio into Genevieve's room, where she lay asleep. He motioned for them to take a seat on the cheap couch. Genevieve's dads took up the small place on the couch, as Remy preferred to stand next to his mate's bed.

"On the CAT scan, we seen a large Subdural Hematoma that is putting pressure on her brain. It's important that Genevieve be treated within the next few hours. Surgery is not recommended, due to the early pregnancy, but we have no other options. The Surgery is not complicated, but we have to have in mind that is considered a brain surgery. I'll be performing a Burr Hole Trephination, which requires drilling a small hole in the skull over the area of the subdural hematoma, and the blood is suctioned out through the hole. Her recovery will take a week, possibly two." The doctor explained the whole procedure without skipping a beat.

Nick and Spencer walked out with the educated doctor, seeing as they had further questions. Remy couldn't glance at Genevieve, knowing that he should have been there to prevent this whole brain injury incident. He held her hand, his cold eyes flickering towards the not yet existing baby bump.

Remy was scared, not only for Genevieve but also for their child. He had expected minor complications if they decided to bring a little hybrid into the world, only now they had bigger and more serious problems. Remy was still clueless as to what had happened that night Luke was supposed to pick up Genevieve. Nor had Remy had the time to ask Genevieve about that night. Her dads were no big help either, although it was understandable; they didn't want to expose their daughters privacy.

Remy lifted Genevieve's limp hand to his mouth, and planted a soft kiss across her knuckles. He stared hard at her lower stomach, a warm sensation enclosing around his heart. Without looking back, Remy walked out of the white hospital room and completely out of the hospital, passing Spencer and Nick on his way.

Remy leaned against the brick wall across from the hospital, the afternoon sun beaming down on his pale skin. He pulled out his phone and called Levi for advice. Once the wizard answered, Remy recalled what the pack doctor had told him just minutes ago.

"I think I should try and change her. It would help her, speed up the process of healing, right?" Remy asked Levi, his grey eyes scanning cautiously over the parking lot of the hospital.

Levi's sigh could be heard over the phone. "Have you had time to sit down and talk to Genevieve about the recent events?"

"Not exactly, but I know about the pregnancy and stuff. Just tell me if you think changing her is the right choice." Remy replied, ignoring the curious stares from members of the red moon pack.

"I can't tell you if it's the right choice or not. Changing Genevieve right now could seriously harm the embryo, especially with the high chance of the baby not being yours."

The words rang through Remy's head, his face becoming completely emotionless. Angered Remy hung up the phone, the beast within him clawing to get out. The taste of iron, flooded Remy's mouth as his fangs punctured his gums. With unnatural speed, Remy moved off of the red moon territory, running until he was standing in the middle of the woods. A ground shattering growl tore through his chest, the puzzle pieces slowly fitting together.

The faint bruises Remy had spotted on her thighs, when he had helped her get into her hospital gown. The deep rooted fear, he had seen in Genevieve's eyes when the paramedic had told him she was pregnant. The whole secrecy about that night or even the way Genevieve had unconsciously shied away from Remy's touch when he had wanted to help her undress. And now Levi telling him they baby could possibly be not his.

Someone had hurt Genevieve and Remy hated himself because he was not there to protect his mate.

Remy was supposed to be the one person that would always protect Genevieve and this time he had miserably failed. Because he had a beast inside of him, he had left Genevieve in dangers way! Remy was stronger than any other supernatural being, but somehow he had left his mate to get raped, not only that but also pregnant.

It was as if history was repeating itself; his mother getting raped, that led into a pregnancy. Just this time it was Genevieve and now she was pregnant.

Remy couldn't help but feel awfully guilty and like it was his own fault. No, he wasn't the bastard who hurt her, but he had been aware of the "threatening" picture that was sent to their home, just before their vacation. Was this connected to the pictures? The chances were undoubtedly high!

Should Remy have told Genevieve about the envelope? -Yes, but Remy was Remy; a man who was dominate, sure of his powers, known to be cold and even closed off. He never shared his fears with others, not even with Genevieve. Problems Remy had, were always solved by Remy. Remy didn't often ask for advice, because in the end he made the choices.

Remy couldn't control his emotions nor the beast, his body transforming into the larger animal. Dark hair sprouted from his arms and legs, sharp claws replacing his normal fingernails and his eyes turning completely black. Dark red blood dripped from his left ear as Remy supported himself against the large tree trunk. His heart was pounding hard in his chest, tears filling his dark eyes for the first time in a very long time.

How was he supposed to take care of Genevieve and a baby? Was he even capable of taking care of just his mate?

The chances that the baby wasn't biologically his, were indeed high and Remy was definitely aware of that. It couldn't be forgotten though, that the unborn child had nothing to do with how it was conceived. If they chose together that they wanted to have the baby, than obviously they would raise it as their own. Remy would never treat that child different just because they didn't share the same DNA . Remy could be rude and an asshole, but he wasn't heartless.

Genevieve wanted a baby, but surely not one that wasn't his. But then again Remy would never force her to abort the baby. If they decided together (knowing that the baby couldn't possibly be his) that the child would be too much of a reminder, than there was always still adoption.

Honestly speaking, Remy was just as scared as Genevieve.

A pregnancy for them was a future subject, something they hadn't really focused on. Remy knew what Genevieve wanted, just like she knew what he wanted. Yet now, they had a pregnancy on there hands, plus the fact that the baby was most likely not Remy's and then there was still Genevieve's head injury.

Remy knew something was up the moment he had spoken to Levi. Even more so when he realized that Levi, Dean and Gen's dads all had traces of Vervain in their blood. Remy knew exactly why they had done that; so he couldn't take a peek into their minds. And when he had tried with Genevieve, he was surprised that all her memory from that night was gone. Knowing about the assault now, Remy was glad she couldn't remember.

Genevieve would have been scarred, her self image would have shattered, she would have been a shell of who Remy fell in love with.

Although Remy didn't want to admit it, he was scared and angry, overall just overwhelmed with emotions. Remy was on the verge of having a mental breakdown, but he knew he had to stay strong, not only for Genevieve but for the baby too.

..

Almost a full week had pasted when Remy took on his human form again. He was stuck in his beast form, due to the overload of emotions he was battling with. The beast would take over whenever Remy was to vulnerable to go on.

Remy knew he had perhaps taken too long to come to the conclusion, but he was convinced that Genevieve and himself were ready for this baby. He needed to let Genevieve know that he'd be a father to any child Genevieve gave birth to. Remy was her mate and he wasn't ever going to give up on her.

With his emotionless mask on, Remy calmly walked out of the shadows of the forest. He was on his way to Genevieve when a sudden idea popped into his mind. He took a turn and hurried down the street to the nearest Target. The 6'8 male grabbed a shopping cart, ignoring the stares from the other shoppers. Remy pushed the cart, first stopping when he reached the isle stocked with pregnancy and baby stuff.

Within fifteen minutes, Remy had five different pregnancy books, a weird looking body pillow, a coconut body lotion for sensitive skin, two soft padded bras and a pregnancy journal. He wanted to show Genevieve that he was more than willing to stand by Genevieve's side during her first pregnancy. He also felt undeniably guilty and apologetic for having left her in such a stressful time.

As Remy made his way to the checkout, he spotted a familiar face. Leaving his shopping cart in the middle of the isle, Remy stalked his way over to the couple, anger clouding his face.

Remy pushed the young blond boy to the side, as he shoved the brunette into the shelf. Remy leaned down to his ear, his eyes completely black and his claws puncturing the skin on the boy's forearm. "You left her at the airport ... for him?" Remy growled in Luke's ear, motioning to the tearful blonde boy with the fresh marking bite. "I wish I could snap your neck, but your mate doesn't deserve that, just like Genevieve didn't deserve to be left that night. Because you were to busy getting it on with your mate, my mate had to suffer."

Remy ignored the please of the blonde boy, who begged for him to let the struggling Luke go. Remy pressed his hand into Luke's chest, the tips of his claws scrapping Luke's erratic beating heart. "Don't you ever try contacting Genevieve. You were the one person she could trust and you failed, not only as a best friend but also as a future leader to your pack. I don't ever want to catch you near my mate."

Remy reached further into Luke's chest, grasping his warm heart in the palm of his hand. "Are we clear?"

Blood had begun to collect in Luke's mouth, but he managed to reply with a quiet "yes".

Remy removed his hand from Luke's chest and smeared the blood on Luke's shirt. He turned to Luke's mate with stone cold eyes. "You might want to get your mate cleaned up, before someone thinks he killed somebody."

With that Remy resumed to the checkout, as if nothing had ever happened. He paid for the stuff and quickly bagged it, refusing to answer any of the cashiers question about expecting a baby.

..

Meanwhile Genevieve had had surgery and was already on her way to getting better, but the moment she had waken up from surgery she knew that something was wrong; Remy had left her after hearing the news about the pregnancy.

Genevieve had spent the whole week crying in bed then sleeping, just to wake up and cry again. She knew Remy would be upset about the pregnancy. She remembered him telling her that they were going to be okay, that everything was going to okay. Yet, Remy was missing when she woke up from surgery and he wouldn't answer his phone.

Her dads had tried to cheer her up, but she had simply kicked them out of her room. Not only was she pregnant, she didn't know who the father was of her unborn child, and her mate had left her. It was the worst feeling ever!

Genevieve sunk further into the warm water of the bathtub, dry tear stains on her colorless cheeks. She felt so tired with all the pain meds she was on, added she hadn't been eating too much either. Without Remy, she could feel herself slowly slipping into depression.

Genevieve struggled against the hooded man, her arms weak but she wasn't ready to give up. She could feel the warm blood trickle down the back of her neck and into the back of her ripped shirt. With blurry vision, Genevieve could only see the outline of the man, as he hovered over her, his hands touching her everywhere.

"Stop, p-please stop!" Genevieve screamed, as she tried pushing away his meaty hands.

Remy reached into the bathtub, gently shaking his mate awake from her vivid memory . He called her name a few more times, before her exhausted brown eyes opened, her gaze unfocused at first. Remy pulled a towel from the rack and helped Genevieve out of the bathtub, who was still realizing that she had been dreaming just moment's ago.

"Shh, I've got you now baby. Nothing's ever going to hurt you again." Remy said, as he wrapped the towel tightly around Genevieve.

Genevieve began to repeatedly punch his stomach with her shaky fist, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I hate you Remy, I hate you so much!"

Remy held her wrist in his much larger hands, trying to calm her down as she struggled against him. "I'm sorry." He apologized for unexpectedly leaving her.

"You can't tell me everything's going to be okay and in the next moment you're gone. More than anything, you had me worried." Genevieve stopped struggling against Remy, as he wrapped his arms around Genevieve and pulled the shorter woman into his arms.

Remy leaned down and lifted her chin up. He wiped away her tears with his thumb, while remaining eye contact. "I know. I fucked up and I'm truly sorry."

"You know, don't you?" Genevieve asked after a moment of silence.

Remy could only muster a small smile, but he hugged her tighter and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "We can do this. The baby we'll be ours no matter what, right?"

Genevieve could feel her lips twitch into a light smile. "I do want to keep the baby. Are you sure you're okay with it, even if we don't know that you're the biological father?"

Remy kissed her lips, his eyes glowing that bright shade of blue. "Of course. I promise from here on out to be the best baby daddy ever." He finished with a lopsided smile.

"You really think we can do this? I know it's not what you want ... or what we planned, but I really want to keep the baby." Genevieve looked up at her mate, color returning to her cheeks.

"I truly think we can do this, whether we hear a heart beat next week or one in nine weeks. This is our child." Remy placed his hand on Genevieve's lower stomach, this time without hesitation. " I even got you a few things for the first trimester."

Genevieve chuckled softly, her heart warming at Remy's sweet words. "First trimester? You're going to be a smart daddy. What did you buy?"

Remy led her into her room and guided her to the bed. He reached on the side and pulled out the three shopping bags, plus the large body pillow.

Genevieve reached inside one of the bags and pulled out one of five expensive pregnancy book. "Are you going to read them too?"

"I sure am." Remy replied, while moving onto the bed. Remy had great memory and he had already read tons of pregnancy books, (from when his mother was pregnant with MJ) but he'd gladly do it again, just to show Genevieve that he supported her and was willing to learn about everything.

Genevieve had taken a look at all the books before putting them back into the bag. Next she pulled the body pillow from the end of the bed. "I don't think I need this yet. We can still cuddle together."

"I heard cuddling works best when your home alone and naked." Remy grinned, leaning over to kiss Genevieve.

"Where not alone, my dads are in the backyard." Genevieve playfully pushed away his face, while laughing.

"Not concerning our sexy time, but when can you leave?" Remy wasn't going to pressure her into being sexually intimate, but he wanted Genevieve to know that he still found her body desirable.

"I still have four stitches that will be removed in a week, but I can get that done back home." Genevieve kissed his cheek.

Remy smiled and intertwined their hands. "I'll look for plane tickets tonight."

...

The couple had been home for almost a week now and everything was going great. Remy and Genevieve were on their way to recovery as mates, and Genevieve was health-wise also doing much better.

As if right now they were in Levi's office about to get their first ultrasound done.

Back at home, Genevieve had cried when Remy told her that he couldn't hear a heartbeat. Remy tried to assure her that maybe it was just too quiet, given the heart (if his) had just begun to form and beat. Genevieve wasn't too assured but agreed to first cry after they had confirmation from the ultrasound.

Now Genevieve laid on the exam table, her shirt lifted to just above her belly button and the first two buttons of her jeans were open. Remy was by her side, holding her hand as she squeezed it in nervousness.

"Remember what we decided?" Remy asked her quietly, as Levi stood off to the side, preparing the ultrasound.

Genevieve nodded, tears filling her eyes but she pushed them back. "Even if we don't hear a heartbeat today, we'll here one soon and no matter the baby is ours."

Remy smiled and kissed Genevieve's forehead.

"Ready?" Levi asked, the cold gel in his hand.

Remy glanced at Genevieve, who nodded her head, a soft smile on her face. "We're ready:"

Levi proceeded to smear the cold gel on her lower belly, before slowly searching for a heart beat with the fetal Doppler. He moved it around, while glancing at the monitor.

After a few minutes Genevieve began to panic, her heart beginning to race. "There's no heartbeat, is there?"

Levi turned off the monitor a sad smile on his face. "No, not yet. But -"
