Ch.23 Surprise
The Hybrid ( BOOK I & II)
**Dedication goes to @MarilynEdmond for the best comment on this chapter. It really means a lot to me & I hope you enjoy this story!!!
It was the first time Genevieve could remember waking up before Remy. She kissed his chest softly and brushed back his blond hair that had fallen onto his forehead sometime during the night.
Genevieve kissed his parted lips slowly, expecting some type of reaction. She gently touched his cheek, when she received no reaction at all. His skin was paler and colder than normal if that was possible. She leaned away from his still form, eyes going wide when she noticed his chest wasn't rising.
Panic began to rise in Genevieve like never before. Tears pricked her eyes, a burning sensation in her throat, as she tried to push back her emotions so she could come up with some logical idea on what to do.
Her small hands pulled at her hair, frustration and worry taking over her body. A loud sob racked her body, when she tried listening for any sign of a heartbeat, only to be met with complete silence.
Remy had never told her to do if something like this happened. Genevieve was lost and as each second past she could feel her heart cracking into tiny pieces.
She tried feeling him through their mate bond. Surprisingly and fortunately she could feel a sense of calm coming from him.
Genevieve racked her brain for anything that could have caused this. It was almost as if Remy was in some type of relaxation mode.
Genevieve kneeled beside his still form, trying to get more information off of their mate bond. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, as she cursed herself for being human. If she were a werewolf or vampire she would be more intact with their bond and would know how to "wake" Remy up.
She didn't know if this normal for Remy of if this was happening for the first time. Genevieve couldn't come up with anything.
"Fâ²ck you! Remy when you wake up, you'll be wishing you were dead." Genevieve sobbed, laying her head against his chest. She was angry with herself, with Remy and whoever dared to ring the doorbell in that moment.
Genevieve ignored the loud doorbell, humming to herself as she pretended her mate wasn't in that "dead" state. If anyone were to walk in on them they would have thought Genevieve was crazy, as she hummed away, fingers tracing over Remy's tattooed chest.
Humming was one of Genevieve's coping mechanisms she developed as a young girl. It was more subconsciously, something she never really took notice in.
The doorbell rung once more, before she heard a deep voice outside of the living room. She darted out of the fort, after covering Remy quickly with a sheet, scared the intruder would see him.
"Where is he?" Levi asked the same time Genevieve asked "How'd you get in here?"
"I used a spell, where's Remy? Is he in there?" Levi asked frantic, pointing towards the fort.
"H-he's s-sleeping ... I think?" Genevieve didn't really know how to explain Remy's situation.
Levi nodded his head in understanding, while moving closer to the fort. "Did he explain to you what's happening?"
"No." Genevieve answered, hugging herself for comfort. "Is he going to be OK?"
Levi glanced back at Genevieve. "Yeah, he'll be perfectly fine when he wakes up. Maybe a little possessive over you." Levi made eye contact with Gen. "At the most he'll be a horny motherfâ²cker."
Genevieve choked on her on spit, heat rising in her face. She looked away from Levi, who smirked while he inspected Remy.
"He'll be fine, I was just messing with you." Levi chuckled although he really wasn't joking.
"O-oh ..." Genevieve forced a small laugh. She couldn't tell if she was disappointed that Levi had been joking or if the whole situation was just too serious to laugh about.
"So how did you know that something was wrong with him?" Genevieve asked Levi, gesturing over to Remy with her hand.
"He was casting a dark cloud over the supernatural presence/world."
"What?" Genevieve had no idea what Levi was talking about.
"Um, it's hard to explain but I'll try to explain as much as I can." Levi spoke, while concentrating on the blood transfusion he was about to give the hybrid.
"Remy is really powerful as a supernatural being. Stronger than an alpha or a clan leader. Now imagine how a pack feels when their leader is wounded. They are weak and confused, aware of danger that could surround them. Remy is giving off a wounded vibe, and in return making the werewolves go crazy. They are worried for him."
"But Remy doesn't have a pack or clan. Why would they be affected." Gen asked confused.
"Remy could be an alpha or a leader if wanted to." Levi explained, as he finished packing up his supplies. "Remy gives off greater power than any alpha and naturally shifters can feel that power. Right now his power is less greater, he is wounded. Remy made the choice a few years ago to decline any request to be an alpha or clan leader."
Genevieve nodded, slowly understanding. " Do you know why he declined the position?"
"If he were to take one, he would have to give up the other supernatural side, which he can't. " Levi replied, giving her a small smile.
"I just have one more question and than I won't bother you any more." Genevieve laughed lightly. "Why did Remy shut down? Is this a normal occurrence before the full moon?"
"Like a dumbâss he hasn't fed in almost three weeks. I gave him some blood now but not enough to wake him up. He'll have to through the full moon without. It's to dangerous right now to wake him up."
"I know this is going to sound stupid, but you're talking about blood right?" Genevieve asked, regretting it seconds later. It was so obvious that Levi had meant blood.
Levi chuckled. "Yes blood. He knows he needs to feed, most likely from you. Would you be willing to give him some of your blood?"
It's not really like she has a choice, Levi thought to himself.
"Of course, he should have just told me he needed blood." Genevieve huffed, a twinge of desire settling in her stomach. The first time Remy had bitten her felt so amazing and made her absolutely hot and turned on to no end.
"He'll need more than you can give him in the long run, so we'll have to mix a small amount of your blood with blood bags or whatever he prefers. Would you rather come to the hospital or do you think it would be better to do here."
"I think we'd both prefer to do the whole thing here and in private. And then when he needs more you can do what you have to do." Genevieve admitted.
"Sounds good. We need to give him fifteen minutes and then we'll have too move him." Levi told her, standing up and zipping his bag.
Genevieve managed to smile. Her mate was going to be alright after the full moon.
A comfortable silence settled over them, until Levi called Genevieve's name.
"I wanted to apologize for Lily's behavior towards you. I'm not exactly sure what happened but I know that it must have been pretty bad if Remy doesn't want any friendship between them or the family."
Genevieve was surprised that Levi knew about it. She hoped it didn't spread to much, she didn't like being in the spotlight. "It's over and done with."
"I'm glad that you two aren't letting her get between you." Levi replied. "Do you know if Remy wanted you to stay at his mother's the house during the full moon or did you plan something else?"
"We never spook about it but can't I just stay here?" Genevieve asked, before glancing at her phone as it vibrated.
"I personally don't think that's a good idea or an option. If you'd like I can talk to Caroline and Julian for you or you could stay in my guest house." Levi was dead sure Remy would kill him if he let Genevieve stay at the house during the full moon.
"Hold on, I got to take this." Genevieve spoke fast, picking up her phone. Levi nodded as Genevieve walked out into the hallway to speak to whoever was on the other line.
"Hello? Luke is that you?"
"Open the door. I'm outside." Luke spoke through the phone before hanging up.
Genevieve opened the door, stunned to that her best friend wasn't lying. Luke wrapped Genevieve in his arms, squeezing her body tight to his chest. He had missed her the second she left.
"What are you doing here Luke?!" Genevieve grinned, ruffling Luke's soft hair.
"I took a couple days off to come see you." Luke smirked, pecking Gen on the cheek. He was really happy to see her.
"Why didn't you call? Right now is not the best time but I'm really happy you came." Genevieve notified him, while pulling him into the house.
"Why what's wrong? Trouble in paradise?" Luke chuckled, taking in his new surroundings.
"Not exactly." Genevieve tried to smile. "Luke this is Levi, Remy's friend. Levi this Luke my best friend from Miami."
The men shook hands, emotionless masks on their face.
"Where's Remy your mate?" Luke asked, confused as to why this Levi guy was with Genevieve and not Remy.
Genevieve and Levi filled Luke in on what had happened in the last thirty minutes, leaving out the unimportant details.
"So he's in a type of coma?" Luke question, just to make sure he understood everything.
"Yeah, we need to move him down the hall and then Genevieve just needs to decide where she wants to stay for the week." Levi acknowledged.
"She can stay with me in my hotel room that way she won't have to stay with his family and we can catch up on things." Luke spoke up, helping Levi move Remy from the fort.
"That sounds good." Genevieve agreed, it was times like this were she needed the comfort of her best fried to help her though this. "I'll be able to come back here when the full moons over right?"
"Sure. I think Remy will even insist." Levi chuckled. Remy would not like Genevieve staying in a hotel room with Luke for a week, but who was Levi to tell them not to.
It was hard to look at Remy in the state that he was so Genevieve pecked his cheek quickly and rushed upstairs to pack a small bag.
The men didn't wait long and carried the 6'8 hybrid into the locked off room down the hall. Levi had been in there once before with Remy so he knew what to do. They leaned Remy up against the brick wall, restraining him with the metal shackles. Levi made sure everything was in place, before they made their way out of the room.
"You should have just taken the blood bag, but no instead you refuse like a dumb fool and now your mate is staying in a hotel for a week with her werewolf friend." Levi muttered as he locked the door.
He did not agree with the whole idea and knew for a fact that Remy would throw a fit if he found out about all this.

Soooo the next chapters should be interesting and it will be private. I don't want the story to be rated mature just yet. All you have to do is follow me and you should get the update. You'll most likely have to delete the story out of your library and then add it again. *wink wink* It's going to get hot!!!
I really get disappointed when I read that I have a new comment and then it turns out just to be "UPDATE" or "PLZ Update, its way 2 short". I will continue to update until this story is completed so there is no real need for those type of comments. I update either Tuesdays or Sundays ( so 5-9 days).
I really appreciate all the love this story is getting and all the really nice comments & messages on my "wall/ profile"! <3 <3
