Ch.20 The Beast

The Hybrid ( BOOK I & II)

*****Warning: Not proof read!*****

I've got thick skin and an elastic heart

But your blade it might be too sharp

I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard

But I may snap and I move fast

But you won't see me fall apart

Cause I've got an elastic heart

Lily laughed menacingly, pointing her finger at Genevieve. "You must be dumber than I thought. Have you ever considered that he just feels bad for a fat bitch like you?! He will never want you!"

Genevieve could feel tears of anger and sadness, building up. Lily was pushing Genevieve's buttons, getting harsher with every comment, though Genevieve wasn't about to back down. "You're stupid if you think he would reject our mate bond, just to be together with a wicked witch like you!"

"You are so naïve Genevieve! Remy and I are together, in fact we were together this morning, after he snuck out of the house when you fell asleep. He was horny as hell." Lily smirked.

"You're lying." Genevieve chocked out, her emotions getting the best of her.

"I'm not. The sex was hot like always. This time he pushed me against the door, sucking on my neck, giving me love bites." Lily pulled down the collar of her shirt, showing the hickeys covering her neck and collarbones.

"I know Remy, he wouldn't do that!" Genevieve wiped at her eyes fiercely, Lily didn't deserve to see her fall apart.

Lily arched one of her perfect eyebrows. "You're right, Remy wouldn't do it ... to your nasty ass."

Genevieve was blinded by rage, her fist clenching and unclenching. She was ready to knock the bitch out! And that's exactly what she did. Genevieve slapped Lily across the face, a loud smack surrounding them.

Lily wasn't as affected as Gen had wished, she shook the pain off, afterwards going for Gens throat. Genevieve tried prying the skinny woman's hands from her neck, but Lily was strong, stronger than Genevieve.

A new set of tears began to blur Genevieve's eyes, panic rising in her when she started losing oxygen. Her mouth opened, yet the cry for help not making it out. Her fingers clawed desperately at Lily's hands, her nails scratching against Lily's pale skin.

Suddenly Lily cried out, her hands dropping from the shorter woman's neck. Lily hunched over, falling to her hands and knees.

Genevieve was thankful for the fresh air that drifted through her lungs. She slumped against the black car behind her, fingers rubbing over the tender skin of her neck. She gazed at Lily confused, why is the bitch clawing at her neck, when I was the one being chocked to death?

Suddenly Remy stood in front of Genevieve, his hands gently moving over her body with speed checking for any serious injuries. Genevieve was shocked to see him there, even more so with how he just appeared.

*** Remy***

Remy couldn't contain his anger, as he saw what he thought to be his best friend Lily, chocking his mate. He rushed across the parking lot with supernatural speed, throwing Lily off of Genevieve. He was glad that the usually full parking lot was empty. The beast within him kept a tight hold on Lily's throat without even physically touching her, it was mentally.

His first concern though was Genevieve, who looked shocked to see him there. Her soft brown eyes filled with tears, as she struggled to regain oxygen. After searching for more injuries, Remy placed a chaste kiss on her trembling lips, fingertips caressing her damp cheeks.

The small whimper that came from Lily, reminded the beast what had to be done. Remy moved over to the crying woman as she gasped for air, like his mate had done moments before. He pulled her off of the ground by the back of her shirt. Remy bent down to her level, ignoring her pleas for forgiveness. With his heightened senses, he could hear as people approached, although too far away to hear anything.

That said, there was no chance the beast was going to let Lily off the hook.

Remy was more than happy Genevieve hadn't properly ended the voicemail, when she tried calling him. He doubted Genevieve would have ever told him on her own.

Remy leaned closer to Lily's ear, his voice harsh and deep. "Listen to me Lily and listen well. You will regret ever hurting Genevieve in anyway. I thought I could trust you, your a disappointment to me." Lily struggled to get away from Remy's intense gaze, his eyes flickering from their normal stormy grey to a cold black. "I don't want to see you around my family again. You don't want to know what I will do if I find out you disobeyed. Take this as a warning and leave."

"Remy, let her go, it isn't worth it." Genevieve rushed out, as more people began surrounding them.

"She may not be worth it, but you are worth fighting for Genevieve." He let go of Lily, but not before giving her one last warning.

People began to rush over, as Lily kneeled on the ground, shame written all over her face. As the crowd gathered around Lily, Remy and Genevieve slowly slipped out of focus. Their bodies were on autopilot, together they made their way to their car.

The drive back home was tense. Genevieve couldn't figure out how Remy, had heard what Lily said or how he had just suddenly appeared. She also couldn't get the picture of hickeys covering Lily's neck, out of her head. Yeah, it most likely wasn't Remy who put those there, but with Gen's constant worry, she could not prevent from thinking; what if ...

What if Remy really did have something with Lily and got angry at her because he didn't want Genevieve to find out?

Genevieve tried to shake that thought from her head. Remy really wasn't like that.

"Were you planning to tell me?" Remy's voice was soft, his fingertips tapping on the steering wheel, grey eyes focused on the road.

He couldn't think of any reason why, Genevieve had kept Lily's behavior towards her, a secret. It angered him, that Genevieve didn't have enough trust in him. They were mates, they should be able to trust one another.

"H-honestly I d-didn't plan to at first ... but after today I w-would have." Genevieve could feel the anger rolling off of him, despite speaking softly to her.

"Genevieve what would have happened, if you had ended the call correctly? I feel like you don't trust me, not even a little."

"Remy, don't say that. You know I trust you." Tears began to blur Genevieve's eyes, she wiped at them though before they could fall.

"How am I supposed to? It hurt me, to know you doubted my actions and relationship towards Lily. I can't do anything more than promise you that there never was nor will there ever be anything between her and I. As your mate, I need you to trust me. You never tell me how you are feeling or what's going on in your head. You don't want me reading your mind, which I fully respect, but then you never tell me what's making you worried and insecure all the time." Remy glanced at her from the side. It hurt him to see his mate crying, yet they couldn't avoid talking about the real stuff forever.

"I ... I-it's complicated."

Remy smiled lightly, taking Genevieve's hand gently into his own. "I don't expect it to be easy. I just want you to trust me and let me in, once in a while. I won't get mad if you're being honest about it, but if you never tell me anything, I never know how to handle the situation. "

"I'll try Remy, but you should trust me too. I know you have secrets." Genevieve wasn't stupid, she doubted Remy had accidently fell asleep on the couch for the first time.

"Your right, I do have small secrets, but I have them because I want to be the mate you deserve." Remy would have preferred the conversation at their house, but if Genevieve was opening up even just a little, he would take it.

"You shouldn't have to change yourself Remy." Gen was a little shocked that Remy thought he didn't deserve her or that she deserved better than him.

"Do you really want me, all of me? I'm not like other werewolves or vampires. I can't mark you, I can't fully shift into wolf form, I have a beast inside of me, Genevieve. Do you really want me?"

Genevieve smiled softly. "Remy, I want to know that I'm falling for the real you. I don't ever want to fall for someone if it's not you."

"I want to kiss you so badly right now, but I don't want to us to crash." Remy could be so blunt sometimes.

He was getting that kiss as soon as they got home. He gave Genevieve a sexy grin though, before he had to focus on the road again. The tension between them was gone and replaced with a comfortable silence.

"I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder." Gen's voice held a slight tremble, her eyes focused on the side of Remy's face trying to catch any reaction from him.

Remy flashed her a comforting smile and intertwined their fingers, giving her a small squeeze.

"I had have terrible sleeping problems as a late teen. There were times I'd wake up wired in the middle of the night. I had trouble concentrating, even reading the newspaper or novels. Sometimes I'd feel a little lightheaded. My heart would race or pound. And that would make me worry more. I was always imagining things were worse than they really were. When I got a stomachache, I'd think it was stomach cancer.

Being insecure was always a problem I had. In high school I dealt with self image issues and over all just being insecure. I didn't join any clubs or social stuff like that. I was really insecure about everything I did, which led to severe worrying.

I finally spoke about it with my dads, they comforted me and called the pack therapist. I was diagnosed quickly, I got treatment in form of cognitive behavior therapy. It teaches a person different ways of thinking, behaving, and reacting to situations that help him or her feel less anxious and worried.

With help of my fathers, therapy and Luke, I managed to get it under control. I have some days that are really good and some are the total opposite."

Remy was proud of Genevieve. He knew it was hard for her to open up about the situation. He could feel the anxiety cloud her, as she shared that with him.

"Genevieve I'm really proud of you. There is nothing wrong with having a disorder. Together we will work on your self image and lessen your anxiety. I'll give you some Remy-Therapy." Remy success fully tried lightening the mood towards the end, resulting in a laughing Genevieve.

"Remy Therapy? That sounds so ... dirty." Gen couldn't hide the smile plastered on her face. Remy didn't mind her disorder and was even willing to help her.

Remy chuckled, as he parked the car. "We should definitely include some dirty session. Perhaps we should start now."

Genevieve laughed loudly, her face warming in response to Remy's heated gaze and boyish smirk. "I'd love to but first I have to make an important call."

They walked into their house, both with big smiles on their faces.

"Thank Luke for me. He's a real best friend." Remy said it nonchalantly, pecking Gen on the lips, afterwards stepping into the kitchen to make their dinner.

Genevieve didn't even ask him how he knew. Instead she went upstairs into their bedroom and called Luke. She told him about everything, including the scene in the parking lot, although she did downplay it. Not too much later, she joined Remy as they ate dinner, while conversing lightly.

That night, Remy did some research on GAD so he could fully understand Genevieve's disorder and completely support her. He wasn't joking around, when he told her he would help her. Remy already had a few thing in mind that could help her. He smirked at the thought of Remy Therapy, he couldn't wait to get started.

Satisfied with his research, Remy moved his bag from the guest room back into his closet and joined Genevieve in their bed.

I can't believe some of you actually thought Remy would cheat on Genevieve. Remy was surprised so many of you had no trust in his feelings towards Gen. o(╥﹏╥)o
