Chapter 123 – Burning the Courtyards to the Ground

He couldn’t let go of the matter like that, Jiang Chen had to know who was the one behind it all.

“Where is Wang Yun and Huang Zheng now?”

Jiang Chen asked.

“Senior disciple Wang and Huang Zheng are both healing their wounds at their courtyard. They were seriously wounded, and they can’t get off their beds.”

One of the disciples said.

“Let’s go, bring me to them.”

With a serious expression, Jiang Chen strode towards the residency area. This time, it didn’t matter if it was Wang Yun, Huang Zheng, or those disciples who were forced to hand out Mortal Restoration Pills, they had encountered this problem all because of Jiang Chen. Therefore, Jiang Chen had to step in and bring them their justice. If he didn’t, who would want to follow him in the future? Most importantly, he wanted to find out who was behind everything, and who was the man in black that tried to assassinate him in the Myriad Demon Mountain. And, Guo Lei was the first clue in finding the answers to these questions.

The residency for the outer circle disciples were rows of courtyards, and six disciples lived in each courtyard. Right now, Wang Yun and Huang Zheng were resting in the same room, and the courtyard was packed with people. Every one of them was angry.

“Damn it, this is ridiculous, we’ve been outer circle disciples for such a long time, and something like this has never happened before! Why is Guo Lei demanding us to give him our Mortal Restoration Pills?”

“Rumors said that senior disciple Jiang was killed in the Myriad Demon Mountain. It is obvious that Guo Lei purposely chose to pick on us, those who weren’t close to senior disciple Jiang aren’t targeted by him.”

“I don’t believe senior disciple Jiang has died, let’s wait for him to come back! I’m sure he will fight for our justice!”

Everyone was filled with righteous indignation, and when they looked at Wang Yun and Huang Zheng who were resting on the beds, they became even angrier. However, it was too bad that their strength wasn’t enough, and that was why they were being bullied.

“Look! It’s senior disciple Jiang! Senior disciple Jiang is back!”

Someone suddenly shouted with excitement. Then, everyone looked towards the entrance and saw a few men coming in. The young man who walked in front was wearing white clothes, and he bore an imposing aura. It was none other than Jiang Chen.

When all these disciples saw Jiang Chen, their bitter expressions immediately turned into surprised ones.

“Senior disciple Jiang is back! It really is senior disciple Jiang! Hahaha, I told you, he wouldn’t die so easily!”

“Senior disciple Jiang! It is so good to have you back! You must help us this time!”

All these disciples gathered around Jiang Chen and started complaining and telling him about their ignominy and rage. Guo Lei was protected by some inner circle disciples, and they couldn’t offend him at all; they could only count on Jiang Chen to help them. Right now, in the Black Sect, only Jiang Chen could help them.

As for the Sect Elders, they never really cared about fights amongst disciples. There had always been fights amongst disciples in all sects. This was the world of cultivation; only fights could push things forwards.

“Everyone, enough, senior disciple Jiang is here to help us.”

A disciple who stood next to Jiang Chen said.

“How are Wang Yun and Huang Zhang now?”

Jiang Chen asked.

When mentioning Wang Yun and Huang Zheng, everyone stopped talking, then they made way for Jiang Chen to go through.

Jiang Chen walked into the bedroom, and he could see two beds inside the room where two men were lying on top. They were motionless, and they had extremely weak energies. Jiang Chen walked closer to the beds, then he saw Wang Yun and Huang Zheng who were covered in bruises; their faces could barely be recognized, and their breaths were weak.

Looking at them, an uncontrollable anger immediately exploded within Jiang Chen’s body. From their wounds, he could easily tell what their opponents had done to them. It required some really cruel and brutal methods to make a Late Mortal Core warrior lose his ability to move.

Sensing someone there, Huang Zhen opened his eyes. When he saw it was Jiang Chen who was standing in front of him, an extremely happy look emerged in his eyes.

Huang Zheng struggled and tried to speak, but he couldn’t even move his lips.

“Don’t say anything, I know what’s going on.”

Jiang Chen placed his hand on Huang Zheng and stopped him from trying to speak. Since Huang Zheng had awakened, that meant he would soon recover. Wang Yun’s wounds were much more serious than Huang Zhen’s, and he was still in a coma right now.

“Senior disciple Wang Yun and Huang Zhen were defeated by Guo Lei. He even went as far as breaking senior’s legs and arms, that’s why he is still in a coma now.”

One of the disciples said.

Jiang Chen grabbed Wang Yun’s arms and checked his meridians. He found that although Wang Yun was seriously injured, his legs and arms still weren’t completely disable, they were only fractured. The chances of a full recovery was still there.

Jiang Chen put down Wang Yun’s arm, turned around and asked the disciple who was waiting at his residency, “What’s your name?”

“Senior disciple Jiang, my name is Wang Da Niu.”

The disciple looked straight and upright, no wonder his name was Wang Da Niu.

“Da Niu, help me go find Sect Elder Guo Shan, ask him to give you two Revival Pills. Just tell him Jiang Chen asked for it.”

Jiang Chen said.

“What? Sect Elder Guo Shan? Revival pill?”

Wang Da Niu was startled, the rest of the disciples almost had identical reactions. Everyone knew about Sect Elder Guo Shan, he was a highly respectable man in the Black Sect, and for these disciples from the outer circle, Guo Shan was someone from the top whom they could rarely meet. As for the Revival Pill, it was a rare healing pill that would cost a fortune. Although Wang Yun and Huang Zheng had such serious wounds, if they could get a Revival Pill, they would be fully recovered within 7 days.

However, Jiang Chen was asking him to go look for Sect Elder Guo Shan and ask for two Revival Pills. Was this a joke, or was Jiang Chen really an important person in Guo Shan’s mind?

“What are you waiting for?”

Jiang Chen furrowed his brows.

“I’ll go right now.”

Without further delay, Wang Da Niu immediately left the courtyard and started walking towards Guo Shan’s mountain peak, his mind full of doubt and fear.

“Where is Guo Lei right now?”

Jiang Chen asked.

“We don’t know, but surely within Black Sect.”

Someone said.

“Fine, bring me to where he stays.”

With an indifferent expression on his face, Jiang Chen’s voice was so cold that it could send shivers down anyone’s spines. No one here was an idiot, therefore, all of them could tell that Jiang Chen was really furious right now, and the consequences would be devastating.

As for how devastating the consequences would be, these disciples didn’t know. However, Big Yellow knew very clearly, today, the outer circle would be in complete mess. Big Yellow was incredibly excited, and he simply walked in front of everyone. Together with all disciples, they marched towards the place where Guo Lei lived.

Lead by Jiang Chen, the group with more than dozens of people walked across the residency areas, attracting the attention of all outer circle disciples who saw them.

“Look! Isn’t that Jiang Chen?! Heavens, I thought he was dead? How is he still alive?”

“Look at them, I’m sure they’re going to find Guo Lei and settle the score! Jiang Chen is a fierce man, Guo Lei is doomed this time!”

“No way, Guo Lei knows someone from the inner circle, Jiang Chen won’t dare touch him!”

“Save your breath! Who is Jiang Chen? He’s someone who dares offend Nan Bei Chao! Guo Lei is nothing in his eyes!”

Everyone’s tongues were waggling, they couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen. Jiang Chen was famous for his brutal and fierce approaches, and the conflict between Guo Lei and Wang Yun was known by everyone here. Now, Jiang Chen had come back, completely alive. It looked like he was ready to wreak havoc in the outer circle.

Guo Lei’s courtyard was located in the center of the residency area. It was a very elegant courtyard, and just from the outside, it looked much better than all the other courtyards. Besides, Guo Lei had the privilege of staying alone within this courtyard, and this went to show that he had a certain status within the outer circle.

Right now, the door to Guo Lei’s courtyard was shut. It looked like he wasn’t inside the house. But, it was around noon, therefore, it was perfectly normal that he wasn’t there.

“Open the door!”

Right after Jiang Chen’s words left his mouth, Big Yellow dashed forwards, and with a loud bang, he shattered the door to the courtyard.

There’s no one in the courtyard, and the door to the house was closed.

“Senior disciple Jiang, Guo Lei is not here.”

A disciple said.

“Burn this courtyard.”

Jiang Chen said with an indifferent tone.

What? Burn the courtyard? This wasn’t a joke, ever since the Black Sect had been established, although there had always been conflicts between disciples, no one had ever tried to burn a courtyard. After all, the courtyard was the property of the Black Sect; it had nothing to do with anyone.

However, Big Yellow never cared about stuff like that. He loved activities like these, killing someone and burning down houses. When he was at the Heavenly Sword Sect, he had burnt down all the female residencies.

Big Yellow spat out a fireball which landed on the roof of one of the rooms. In just a few breaths time, all buildings within the courtyard were caught in the fire. The fire Big Yellow had spat out was incredibly powerful, and even Jiang Chen was surprised by it. Big Yellow had been with him for quite some time, but this was the first time he had seen that he was able to spit fire. This dog was a really competent fellow.

“Heavens, fire! Jiang Chen really set Guo Lei’s courtyard on fire! This is brutal!”

Someone shouted out loudly. It looked like the outer circle was going to be in a mess today.

“Aside from Guo Lei, who else bullied you all?”

Jiang Chen asked with an indifferent tone.

The disciples who had been bullied mentioned a few more names, they were so excited. Jiang Chen was a really domineering person, he had simply just burnt down the entire courtyard.

“Big Yellow, help me burn down the courtyards of those guys.”

Jiang Chen’s expression didn’t change. Burning down some courtyards was the same as burning some wood to him.

Swoosh swoosh……

Big Yellow kept spitting fireballs out from his mouth, setting another courtyard on fire. Big Yellow controlled his fire precisely, and although the fire was raging, it never sparked a single fire to another courtyard.

Soon, the flame was raging in the resident area, such a big turmoil had shaken the outer circle.

In the training grounds within the outer circle, many disciples saw the fires and were shocked. Amongst them, four disciples’ expressions changed dramatically.

“Senior disciple Guo, it looks like our courtyards are on fire!”

One of the disciples said with a shocked expression.

“Damn it, who has the guts to burn my courtyard?! Come, let’s go check it out!”

The young man scolded. He brought the three other disciples towards the residency areas. This young man was in his mid twenties. With a muscular body and a red scar on his forehead, he looked ferocious.

This guy was none other than Guo Lei. With his cultivation at the peak of the Mortal Core realm, after Han Yan had entered secluded meditation, and Jiang Chen had disappeared, no one in the outer circle dared offend him.
