chapter 6: Confidences

Faking hope (BoyxBoy)

It had been a long time since I saw my mother's best friend and her daughter, Vanessa, maybe about three years ago. Céline, her mother, was a small woman with short brown hair and chocolate eyes. She was a very joyful woman; I could totally understand why my mother became friend with her. Her daughter was quite similar to Céline. She had long light brown hair in a ponytail and big green eyes. She only seemed shyer.

"Hey, it's been a long time! How are you?" Vanessa asked me with a bright smile as we sat on the couch while the parents were in the kitchen.

"I'm fine, really. It's great to see you again. What's up?"

Vanessa and I weren't that close, we never spoke except when we were seeing each other. But she was a nice girl and I knew she wouldn't judge me so I could tell her everything. And as we were speaking only when we saw each other, there were lots of things to speak about.

"Well, not much actually. It's always the same routine. I'm single again but I don't mind at the moment as I am pretty busy with my studies. What about you?" She asked me with a small smile.

"Ohyou know... I... It's not really different... Always the same shit..." Imumbled looking at my hand while I was playing with my fingers. "As I toldyou before I don't feel great at school... It's worst now that I am datingAlex... I... Sometimes I feel like something is wrong with me... Sometimes,I... I just make horrible nightmare... It's about Alex and me... Except thatAlex is dead and I'm left alone in the world... Nobody cares about me... And ...I hate that... I... I know it may sound stupid but I can't live withoutAlex..." I said whispering the last part as a tear made its way on mycheek

"Why are you crying? You... You know you can tell me everything, right?" She asked me with a worried look.

"I... I swear it's nothing serious but sometimes I feel as if there is a problem with Alex... Not in the way he acts but in the way the others acts around him... They never talk to him; everybody is acting as if he doesn't exist! I can't understand it! And he's even not upset by this revelation!" I said, trying to control my emotions. This wasn't an easy subject.

"Oh, I see... Well, the most important is that you're happy with him, isn't it? You know, actually it's been a long time since I saw Alex it was like... Seven years ago? Yeah that's it! The year you became friend with him, why can't I see him? It would be great to hang out the three of us." She said with a smile.

"Yeah why not. I will ask him tomorrow and we will see..."

"Can I ask you just one last question, just because I'm really curious? How did you know you loved Alex?" I blushed at her question, I didn't expect that but the thought of talking about Alex made me smile. I closed my eyes, remembering the day as if it was yesterday.

It was at the beginning of July. The weather was hot and the sun was shining in the beautiful blue sky. I could hear a few birds in the big, leafy trees. We were in front of Alex's swimming pool, our feet in the warm water. We spent a few hours in the swimming pool, playing with each other, throwing water at each other and so many other things.

I could feel the heat of his body next to me, our arms and legs were barely touching just enough to give me chills. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes; I could see tiny drops on his chest. I followed one of the drops with my eyes until it disappeared under his swimsuit. I shivered and tried to hide my blush. I was feeling something strange in my stomach but I couldn't find what it was, I knew I wasn't sick. It wasn't the first time I stared at him like that but it wasn't my fault. He was just so beautiful, so perfect. I knewnobody was perfect but I found Alex perfect.

He caught me when I was staring at him, my face went as red as a tomato. This was so embarrassing; he wasn't supposed to see me. He giggled when he saw my blush and went closer to me.

"Are you alright?" He asked with a smirk. I nodded quickly, not wanting him to see how much he affected me. He stared at me a few seconds before lying down on the grass, his feet still in the water. He closed his eyes and put his hands behind his head.

I waited a few minutes before looking at him. He was breathing peacefully, a small smile on his cute face. I bit my lips and went a bit closer to him. I wanted to kiss him so fucking much but I was afraid he could hate me. I didn't want to lose my only friend! I took a deep breath and closed the space between our lips. It took him a few seconds to respond to my kiss, I could feel he didn't expect me to kiss him right now. He put one of his hands on my neck and pulled me on the top of him without breaking the kiss...

It was my first kiss. It was also the day Alex and I began our relationship.  It brought a smile to my lips.

"That's a beautiful memory." Vanessa said with a true smile. I could see she was truly happy for me.

Our lovely conversation was interrupted by my mother when she entered in the big, purple, living room.

"Hey sweetie. Mr. Winchester called me a few minutes ago. He will be here in about one hour; he wants to see you and mhh... Alex so you should call him right now." She told me with a sad smile before going back into the kitchen, leaving me with Vanessa completely confused.

I sent a quick text to Alex telling him the situation. I was glad Mr. Winchester wanted to see Alex because it meant I wouldn't have to be alone with him. I remembered the last time, it wasn't great. He made me think about things I wanted to forget.

Vanessa went in the kitchen when someone knocked on the door. I quickly opened it with a bright smile when I saw Alex. He took me in his arms and kissed me and licked my lips before pulling away. We went in my room then I remembered the conversation with Vanessa and ran down the stairs to take her with me.

"What are you doing?" She asked me with an eyebrow raised.

"You wanted to see Alex again so here he is!" I exclaimed with a big smile.

"Oh... Well, nice to meet you, Alex." She mumbled awkwardly, a hand in her long light hair, fear and incomprehension in his eyes. "Oh! Mr. Winchester is here! I'm going to leave you alone now. I'll see you later." She said before leaving the room quickly without looking behind her.

Well, it was quick. I sat next to Alex, a frown on my face.

"Don't worry babe. It was nice to meet her, I'm sure the next meeting will be better. She was just shy..." He whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek.

A few minutes later Sam Winchester entered in my room and sat on a chair next to my desk.

"It's nice to see you again. So, where is your boyfriend?" Mr. Winchester asked with a small smile.

"He's just next to me! You should think about glasses, really... He's not invisible! Anyway, why did you want to see me?" I asked fear in my voice.

"I just want to make a little test. It will only take a few minutes so lie down on your bed and close your eyes. Alright, now I want you to breathe slowly and I want you to think about nothing." I nodded and he started speaking again. "When you will open your eyes, you will see the reality. Nothing more, nothing less. 3.... 2...1... Open your eyes and tell me what you see."

I opened my eyes slowly and I sat on the bed. I looked around me with a frown on my face as I tried to see if things changed.

"But... I can't..." I stopped speaking, my mouth wide open as well as my eyes. "Where the fuck is Alex?! What did you do?!" I roared before beginning to shake, tears in my eyes.

"You need to calm down. Everything is normal; there is no need to panic." He told me in a low voice, trying to calm me down but it wasn't working.

"Please... Make it stop... Who are you? A magician or something? I promise I'll keep the secret but I want Alex back... Right now... I don't want to be alone..." I whispered, sobbing harder, tears everywhere.

"Okay, okay.... Just... Just lie down on your bed and try to make your mind blank. Alright?" I waited a few minutes before nodding slowly. "Alright, when you will open your eyes Alex will be back and everything will be alright. 3... 2... 1... Open your eyes."

I opened my eyes quickly and Alex was sitting on the floor. I began to smile at him. He sat next to me and pulled me into a big hug.

"Thank you for letting me do this little test, I'll leave you alone now. Bye." The man said, fear and sadness in his eyes before leaving the room. I hugged Alex with all my strength before getting up and walking slowly down the stairs to try to know what he would say to my mother.

I couldn't see and hear very well from my position up the stairs but I saw the worried look Mr. Winchester gave when he entered in the kitchen.

"What's wrong with my son?" Clara, my mother asked in a high-pitched tone which was easy to hear from where I was. I could tell that she was close to tears.

Sadly, Sam didn't speak as loud as my mother. I could only hear a few words as "worried", "son", "friend", "alive", "problems" or "protection". What was he talking about? I definitively knew that they were worried about me but I couldn't understand the reason of it.

I had to find out what it is. Even if I was not going to like the news. This was going to be my new mission.
