Silent Kohinata-San Headbutts My Chest for Some Reason
This is my first night alone with Kohinata.
Of course, like any high school student, we plan to split up by 9:00 p.m., a healthy time, but it is hard to say whether this environment without a guardian can really be called healthy or not.
Moreover, the distance between me and Kohinata, who is sitting next to me in the kotatsu, is only five centimeters.
To tell me not to be conscious of her would be like telling a dog not to drool when a steak is placed in front of it.
In short, itâs impossible.
After playing a racing game for a while, I was about to get up from the kotatsu to change to another software, when Kohinata jumped up and down. I was shocked without knowing it.
âDonât be so alarmed, I wonât do anythingâshall I move to the side?â
I say this with tears in my heart, and Kohinata lightly picks up my jersey and shakes her head. The expression on her face is still the same ânothing,â but the speed at which she shakes her head conveys her desperation.
âWell, Iâll stay where I am. âbut itâs still two hours to nine oâclock â¦â¦. Iâm sure a game would be nice, but why donât we just watch a movie?â
I asked Kohinata after turning off the game console.
When it comes to playing alone with Kohinata, the game options are rather limited.
In the racing game we had just been playing, I usually end up winning, although the difference can be reduced by acquiring items along the way.
If Keiichi or Saejima had been there, there would have been a change in the ranking, but with just the two of us, it would have been difficult.
If it was a male opponent, I wouldnât have minded beating him to a pulp, but I would have gotten a little tired playing the game while being careful.
During the game, I was holding back on Kohinata, but Iâm not that dexterous, so there must have been a lot of obvious moments. I just hope I didnât put her in a bad mood.
âOkay. Iâll bring some over to you, so you can choose the one you like.â
After confirming that Kohinata nodded her head, I started taking out movie packages from the drawer at random. Incidentally, most of these were brought by my friends from elementary school, including Keiichi, and there was a wide range of types, from famous to B-movies.
I randomly pulled out about 10 movies out of more than 100, and while showing the packages, I asked Kohinata, âDo you have any you want to watch?â
She then began to stare at the cover art and title of each film one by one.
Kohinata nodded and tilted her head as she looked through all 10 packages. Eventually, she slowly pointed to one DVD.
âLetâs see⦠â¦..neko neko panic? Hmm? Whatâs this â¦â¦? Iâve never seen it either.â
The package she pointed to showed a large number of cartoon-style cats. I have no idea what kind of movie it is, but at least it is not a famous one. I have never heard of it.
âWell, letâs take a look at this one, then,â
When I said that, Kohinata looked at me with expectant eyes and nodded her head.
But what is this movie? â¦â¦ Someone brought it to my house, and I guess it has been sitting in the dust without a chance to see it. Iâve never seen it before, so I can enjoy it with Kohinata with a fresh mind, and the result is all right, right?
I set up the DVD while thinking about that.
Then, after preparing drinks and using the restroom, Iâm ready to go.
This âNeko Neko Panicâ.
From the title and the atmosphere of the picture, I expected that it would be a gentle, everyday type of story. I havenât seen the movie because Iâm afraid Iâd know the plot if I checked the synopsis, but itâs probably something like that; it looks like a B-movie, and thereâs a chance itâll be boring, but thatâs part of the fun.
I moved next to Kohinata and got into the kotatsu, and excitedly pressed the play button.
It opened with a cat mating scene.
No, no, no, no, no! What kind of movie is this? And itâs mosaicked, and for some reason, the catâs meow sounded sensational! Who brought this dangerous thing here!
I looked sideways at Kohinata next to me, and she turned her face down, her cheeks tinted with embarrassment. However, she seemed to be glancing up and looking at the screen as if she was concerned about the contents. She had just finished using the restroom a few minutes ago, and the reason she was moving her body so restlessly was probably because she was uncomfortable.
Neither Kohinata nor I could say, âLetâs stop watching,â and the movie went on.
The content of the film was a war between a group of cats fighting for territory.
These cats use machine guns, rocket launchers, and other weapons in the streets with impunity, and continue to wage war while being yelled at by the people around them. The bullets and explosives were made from nuts and pollen, so it was not a war in which there would be any deaths.
The main characterâs cat, Mouse-Destroyerâs line, âIs this the last of the stray tassels? â¦â¦ is very tasteful,â made me laugh, but my overall impression was âWhat the hell. By the way, Mr. Mouse didnât die.
I managed to watch the whole thing, but Kohinata, the woman next to me, was sleeping peacefully with her forehead resting on the top of the kotatsu. It was not surprising, given the content of the story.
âIt seems like a long time, but it was surprisingly short. â¦â¦ Itâs only 8:30?â
After watching it all the way through to the staff roll, I use the remote control to turn off the TV.
The room is now quieter and I can hear Kohinataâs breathing more clearly.
âYour forehead is about to turn bright red.â
I giggle as I look at my classmate sleeping next to me.
I would like to put a pillow or a towel between her and the kotatsu, but unfortunately, I donât have the guts to touch a sleeping girl so casually. This is completely different from the fact that I donât like girls.
I put my hands behind my back and looked up at the ceiling.
Well, I have thirty minutes left, what am I going to do? I wonder if Shizuka san has contacted me? I was so distracted by the movie and Kohinata that I hadnât checked my phone, so maybe sheâs been chatting with me without me noticing?
I thought so, and was about to take out my phone in my pocket,
âI-Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiâ
I involuntarily let out a strange yelp. Without warning, Kohinata fell down on my thigh.
Then, as I thought she moved her body, she found a good position and began to make a pleasant sound as she slept.
Kohinata was breathing regularly, sending warm air into my thighs. Itâs bad in so many ways.
âKo, kohinata-san? I think this is indeed a bad idea!â
I impatiently call out to her, but there is no sign of her waking up, as if she is sound asleep.
Should I wake her up by touching her body? Or should I call out to her and wake her up?
No, but for Kohinata, however, the result of falling asleep on a manâs lap could be a fact that she would like to pretend never happened. In other words, I must not let her know about this situation.
âOh, well! I should go to bed too!â
I thought to myself that I had arrived at a conclusion that I didnât really understand, but if Kohinata woke up before I did, there would be no problem. And if she seals this fact in the back of her mind, then this kneecap will have never happened. In other words, peace!
I set the alarm on my phone to go off at maximum volume in 10 minutes and place it next to Kohinataâs ear. I just slumped back down and lay down. Kohinata must have felt the vibration as I lay there, but there was no sign of her waking up.
âLetâs go to sleep, letâs really go to sleep. Thereâs a chance sheâll see itâs all an act.â
As I slowly lowered my eyelids, feeling Kohinataâs warmth and weight on my thigh, my phone vibrated. I open my eyes with a gulp and hastily pick up my phone.
âShizuka-san, huh? Itâs not even nine oâclock yet, but is it safe to go home already! I mean, what am I supposed to do in that case! Iâll just have to play the alarm on blast right now and pretend to be asleep!â
Muttering such things in a whisper, I check the chat screen on my phone at high speed. The other party was Shizuka san, as I had expected.
But the content was the exact opposite of what I had expected,
âIâm so sorry, Tomoki-kun! until 10:00 please!â
It was an announcement that my stay in Kohinata would be extended.
