Chapter 97
Reborn Before The Divorce
How about trying to find an opportunity?
Jesse and Barclay started to drink constantly, and they had both had quite a bit. Willette, on the other hand, seemed lost in thought. If Jesse really couldnât perform, she wouldnât be with him. She had to find an opportunity to test Nydia.
âYou two have had enough to drink, donât drink anymore,â Willette didnât want to bring a drunkard back, she couldnât carry him.
âOkay, no more drinking. Sorry, Mr. Pascall, my fiancée has spoken. I canât continue drinking with you,â Barclay reached out to hug Willette. Willette didnât want to be too intimate in front of Jesse, but she didnât want to push him away either, so she stiffened her body and didnât move, letting him hug her.
âWell, itâs getting late.â
Both parties got up and prepared to leave.
Nydia was still wearing Jesseâs coat as she pushed his wheelchair out.
After they arrived at the parking lot, they went their separate ways.
In the car, Barclay asked Willette, âWhy did you invite them to dinner today?â
âWhatâs it to you?â Willette said coldly.
Barclayâs face instantly showed a thin anger, but he suppressed it and went back to hug her shoulder.
He sighed, âIâve been busy lately and didnât mean to ignore you. What am I busy for if not for our future life together?â
âBut even if Iâm busy, I canât ignore you. Iâm sorry, donât be angry.â
âDo you have another woman?â Willette questioned.
Barclayâs eyes flickered, but Willette didnât notice the small movement.
âHow could I have another woman? I have such a beautiful and outstanding fiancée, why would I go looking for another woman? Am I crazy? Who can compare to you?â
âIs it true?â Willette was no longer as angry when she heard these words, but she still didnât let go.
âOf course itâs true. Donât you think so?â Barclay caressed her cheek and looked at her affectionately. His eyes were naturally passionate, and when he looked at Willette like this, her face turned red. She rarely felt shy. âI knew you would say good things to coax me.â
âIâm telling the truth, youâre just that great. Weâve been together for so many years, donât you understand me?â
âBeforeâ¦â Willette felt guilty about kissing Jasper.
But Barclay stepped forward and sealed her lips.
âDonât mention the past. Letâs just focus on our future. I trust you.â
Barclayâs kiss left Willette feeling dizzy and weak.
âYou canât neglect me in the future.â
âOkay, I wonât!â
Barclay continued kissing Willette, leaving her breathless, while the driver kept his eyes on the road.
On the other side of the car, Nydia and Jesse were in a quiet mood.
The two of them sat in the backseat without speaking.
Nydia was still wearing Jesseâs coat and it was actually quite hot in the car, but she didnât take it off. She stole glances at Jesse and thought about the things he had said earlier.
Jesse smelled of alcohol, having had quite a bit to drink tonight, but he appeared fine and not drunk.
They arrived home in silence and went to their respective rooms.
When Nydia was getting changed, she remembered that she hadnât returned Jesseâs clothes, so she hurried over.
âI came to return your clothes.â She pushed the door open and walked in, only to see Jesse tearing off his tie with wild movements. His usually cold face was now flushed red.
When his gaze fell on her, it felt like he could burn two holes into her.
