Chapter 854 – Theo Irritates Jesse

Instead of being angry, Dr. Huffpove smiled kindly.

“I’m guessing you’d be about twelve, right?”

Jesse froze for a moment, then realized a question, “Did Nydia tell you that?” He flashed Nydia a disapproving look.

“Yes, she was the one who told me, because you were both enchanted by witches.”

This was something Nydia didn’t expect.

“I’m not enchanted by a witch!” Jesse said with certainty.

“You have, because you get headaches when you look in the mirror, and that’s what the witches put on you to keep you from realizing that you’ve been enchanted by a witch.”

Jesse is blindsided by Dr. Huffpove and starts thinking about life.

He looked at Nydia and then at Dr. Huffpove and offered no words of rebuttal.

“You would have been a thirty-one year old adult.”

“No, if I’m thirty one then Nydia she …” He looked at Nydia and instantly it made sense again, but soon he realized the problem, “She was enchanted by a witch to grow up, she and I are only three years apart, no no no.”

“She pretended she was enchanted by a witch to keep you out of pain.”

Dr. Huffpove was always gentle and unhurried.

Jesse was thoroughly confused.

“I’ll put a witch’s story to you and you’ll understand.”

Then Dr. Huffpove started to tell Jesse a story, Nydia could hear it was just made up now, but it was so well made up that she was all ears and found it interesting, without realizing that Jesse was listening attentively.

“Well, that’s enough storytelling for today.”

“Not finished?” Jesse was as curious as a child about what was to follow in the story.

“It’s almost dark, I can’t finish.”

“That’s okay, it doesn’t hurt to go home at night now.”

“But there will be witches at night.”

A comment that made Jesse instantly stop being curious, he now possessed a reverence for witches.

Nydia took Jesse back, on the way back Jesse was quiet and looked at Nydia every now and then.

“What’s wrong?”

“You love me a lot every now and then?”

Being asked that in the cold made Nydia a little surprised, then she smiled and answered, “Yes, love you very much, so I hope you get better.”

“And what if I never get better?”

“Then there’s nothing that can be done.” Nydia sighed.

Jesse tensed up, “Are you leaving me? I’ll try to get better! You see I’m actually pretty strong, I’m definitely more than twelve.”

His nervous look made Nydia barely hold back her laughter and immediately hugged him, “I’m not leaving you, ever.”

Back at their place, Nydia cooks dinner.

Frederick and Theo also came, both were very good at anti-surveillance, and with another disguise, their whereabouts were not exposed.

“Mrs. Pascall, how was your day?” Frederick asked.

“Not too bad, Dr. Huffpove thinks it’s promising, just expect it to take a little longer.” Nydia was optimistic about the treatment, at least today Jesse had been cooperative.

Theo glanced at Jesse without saying anything, though his eyes showed displeasure.

Jesse noticed this keenly and asked Theo directly, “What’s that look in your eyes?”

“I’m just assessing whether you can protect and bring happiness to Lady Nydia in the future.” Theo was blunt, it was his duty to guard Nydia, not just a fool, Nydia was the most important thing to him.

“I can do this, don’t you dare try to take someone from me!” Jesse showed his dominance.

Even if he only had the mind of a twelve year old now, that dominance in his bones seemed to linger, and it would show in some places, especially when it came to Nydia.

“You can’t stay with Lady Nydia if you can’t bring her stability and still need Lady Nydia to take care of you!”

“No way! I’ll kill you if you take her away from me!” Jesse’s emotions flared up and he grabbed his fork as if he was going to plunge it towards Theo in the next second.

Nydia hurriedly stopped him, “Jesse, good boy, calm down, he’s joking with you, don’t take it seriously, let’s put the fork down.”

At this moment, Jesse’s eyes were red and he looked like an angry beast.

If he wasn’t being pulled by Nydia he probably would have rushed to Theo already.

“Theo, don’t go too far!” Frederick disgruntledly said, he was Jesse’s man after all, even if Jesse didn’t recognize him now, he still had to serve Jesse.

After so many years of employment, it was actually no longer just an employment relationship, but a brotherly love had arisen, mainly because Jesse treated him well, with a high paycheck and less shit.

“I’m just being honest.” Theo didn’t feel like he had a problem with that, and in his mind, if Jesse was like that for the rest of his life, how tired was Lady Nydia? Taking care of so many kids?

“Well Theo you eat.” Nydia said to him.

That’s what made Theo stop talking.

After that the atmosphere of the meal was a bit depressing, Jesse was cold and silent but would grab things to eat from Theo, he would take whatever Theo was pinching.

“Childish!” Theo couldn’t help but say.

Those two words irritated Jesse again, he didn’t want to be called a child or childish right now, he put down his fork and didn’t want to eat anymore, he got up and was about to leave.

Nydia stopped him, “Jesse, are you misbehaving? If you’re not behaving, I’m going to follow you ah, you need to eat your fill.”

“He’s the one bullying me!” Jesse was defiant, like a schoolboy arguing, which gave both Nydia and Frederick a bit of a headache.

“I scolded him!”

She pretended to scold Theo a few times, which made Jesse calm down, Theo wasn’t angry, not with what Nydia did to him anyway.

Finally after dinner, Nydia went to coax Jesse.

Leaving Frederick and Theo behind.

“What do you mean? It’s not like you won’t be nice, why are you irritating Mr. Pascall?”

“I’m just putting the ugly word out there.” Theo said lightly.

“You’re only making Mr. Pascall worse by irritating him.”

“I didn’t approve of Lady Nydia being with him before, moving around and going crazy.”

Frederick was outright laughed at, “Then tell me who you want Mrs. Pascall to be with? Who deserves it!”

Theo didn’t answer right away, stiff upper lip, “There always is, there are so many good people in this world.”

“What? Do you want to be with Mrs. Pascall?”

“What nonsense!” Theo got angry, “I have nothing but respect for Lady Nydia!”

Frederick nodded, “It’s good that you don’t think that.”

“Don’t ever say anything like that again!” Theo was angry, which embarrassed Frederick.

“Hey, I just said it off the top of my head, don’t get mad.”

Theo ignored him.

“Want to be so petty? Look, I said a few words and you’re so angry, then you’re still angry at Mr. Pascall, Mrs. Pascall loves Mr. Pascall so much, aren’t you making Mr. Pascall uncomfortable as well as making Mrs. Pascall uncomfortable? Don’t you understand such simple reasoning?”

“Okay, I know you know you’re wrong, you just have a stiff upper lip and won’t admit it.” Frederick walked over and hooked his shoulders.

Theo pushed him away, “What’s with the hooking? I don’t know you that well!”
