Chapter 59
Reborn Before The Divorce
âIâll start with Jesse first, as you said, she was the one you brought here, so your responsibility is the greatest.â As soon as Sibley finished speaking, she whipped Jesseâs back with the whip.
Nydia nervously watched Jesse, but to her surprise, he didnât even frown. Was it not hurting him?
Sibley continued to whip Jesse five more times, but he still didnât react much, only slightly furrowing his brow.
Even Nydia looked at him in surprise.
ââ¦â Come on, little brother, make a sound or something. Donât make it look like Iâm going easy on you. I really am using all my strength here.
Jesseâs back was bleeding, with blood seeping through his white shirt. Rosalind couldnât bear to watch and turned away.
After fourteen whips, Sibley let out a sigh of relief. She was sweating and her hands were bleeding from tightly gripping the whip.
âItâs your turn, Nydia.â
Everyone could see that Sibley was already running out of strength. But when the first whip hit her, Nydia felt a sharp pain and cried out.
She was wrong, it wasnât that Jesse didnât feel the pain, he was just enduring it.
Sibley saw Jesseâs gaze sweep over and the cold look in his eyes made her shiver.
It wasnât a joke that the whip had spikes on it.
In order to speed up the end of this ordeal, Sibley whipped the remaining five times, then hurriedly put down the whip on the table.
Apart from the first cry from Nydia, she remained silent throughout, clenching her teeth and sweating profusely, her lips turning pale.
âGet up,â Andrew said in a low voice.
Rosalind and his assistant rushed to help Jesse, who was already unsteady on his feet and had difficulty walking. Nydia was helped up by Sibley, but she had been kneeling for too long and had just been whipped, so when she got up, she felt her vision darken and the world spinning around her. She was on the verge of collapsing.
But a pair of strong arms supported her and she leaned against his solid chest.
Even though her vision had not yet cleared, she knew who had supported her. She hugged his waist and let her weight rest on him.
The black mist in front of her finally dissipated, and she saw the person who was looking down at her with a worried expression. But after their eyes met, his face was once again dominated by frost, and his eyes were dark and impenetrable.
âNydia, whatâs wrong with you? Jesse is so badly injured, and youâre still leaning on him!â Rosalind was heartbroken for her son and was even more angry to see Nydia leaning on Jesse and not getting up.
She came over to push Nydia away, but Jesse stepped forward to make Nydia stand up.
âCall Vincent and have him bring a nurse over. Tell him weâve suffered some injuries,â Jesse instructed his assistant.
âYes, sir.â
Jesse and Nydia sat in the living room waiting.
Nydia was in too much pain to move. Her back was burning, and even a slight movement made her break out in a cold sweat. But she dared not make a sound. Jesse could endure more pain than she could. She had just seen his back, even with his shirt on, the wounds were shocking. If he took off his shirtâ¦
âDrink some water,â Sibley handed her a glass of water.
She was stunned. She had always known that Sibley didnât like her, but today Sibley was on their side. If Sibley had used force against her earlier, she might not have been able to stand up. Moreover, Sibley had deliberately hit Jesse first and then her. The force used on her was definitely not as strong as it was at the beginning.
âThank you.â Her lips were extremely dry, and when she pulled them apart, a crack appeared, and blood oozed out.
