Chapter 41
Reborn Before The Divorce
At this moment, two people walked to either side of the car. One of them opened the car door.
âMarty, get out of the car!â
Marty was startled and was about to run to the other side of the car to escape, but someone was waiting there and grabbed him directly.
âWhere do you think youâre running to?â
They easily caught Marty.
âLet me go!â Marty struggled.
The driver was frightened. What was going on?
âYou can call the police.â
âNo, donât call the police!â Marty was the one who became afraid, but then he couldnât help but shout, âCall the police, help me call the police!â The driver was dumbfounded. Should he call the police or not?
âWhether to call the police or not is up to you.â
Jesseâs men left these words and took Marty away, stuffing him into the back seat of a car, and the car drove away quickly.
As for whether the driver would report it to the police or not, they didnât care. They could just hand the person over to the police.
Marty sat in the car, very nervous.
âWhat are you going to do to me? I donât have any money. You can tell by looking at me that Iâm not rich, right?â
âDonât have any money?â His bag was opened, and there was a lot of cash inside. âIsnât this money?â
Martyâs face turned pale.
âThen, Iâll give you the money, can you let me go?â
âDonât worry, we donât want your money, we just want your⦠life.â
He directly raised his hand and knocked on Martyâs neck, and Marty immediately passed out.
They were afraid he wouldnât be honest on the road, so this way they were 100% sure.
Marty was awakened by a splash of water, which was very cold and made him shiver.
He looked up and saw two people in black suits standing in front of him, and the person in the middle was sitting in a wheelchair. He knew this person, Jesse.
âThis was your wifeâs idea, Iâm just taking the money to do it,â he said the first sentence.
âTaking peopleâs money to avoid disaster is one thing, but your professional ethics are not good. How could you betray your employer?â Jesseâs voice was calm and his tone was slow, as if he was chatting with Marty.
Martyâs eyes flickered and he said, âI had no choice. If I didnât say anything, I would be finished. At the time, I did throw the child into the lake, but I thought it might have just been a joke between your wife and the child.â
âThatâs possible, but the child remembers what you said.â
Jesse looked at Marty, not showing any anger, but Marty felt a strong pressure.
âThe way you said it sounded like your main goal wasnât to throw the child into the lake, but to tell him that sentence. If it were my wife who asked you to do this, what would be the purpose?â
âHow would I know what you rich people are thinking? I just do what she tells me to do.â Marty casually said, but his nervousness couldnât be hidden. His legs were trembling unconsciously.
âGive me evidence.â
Marty was stunned.
âWhat?â
âEvidence that my wife paid you to do this. You seem like a smart person, and doing such a dangerous thing, you couldnât have left some evidence that would be in your favor.â
Marty became even more flustered. Didnât Jesse and Nydia have a bad relationship? As long as he said that, Jesse would definitely believe him. Now he was asked to provide evidence, where could he get it from?
âWhy donât you ask her? Is she blaming me for everything now and making me take the blame?â
After thinking for a moment, he continued, âThe money in my bag was all given by her. Would I have done such a thing if I didnât have money? Itâs because she paid me a lot of money that I was willing to take the risk.â
âBesides, if it wasnât her, who else could it be?â
As soon as he finished speaking, a soft female voice was heard.
âIf you say itâs me who gave you the money, then show me the transfer records. There should be some, right?â
Nydia walked out and stood in front of him, with a smile on her lips and no panic at all.
