Chapter 38
Reborn Before The Divorce
Willette and Nydia were a bit confused.
Tavish, on the other hand, looked normal, holding a bottle of imported green tea.
âNo,â Willette shook her head.
âAunt Willette, you look tired. You should drink some green tea. My dad said green tea is good for beauty and anti-aging,â Tavish insisted.
Nydia chimed in, âGive it a try. The green tea tastes really good.â
âFine.â
Tavish approached her with the green tea.
âHey, Mommy, does Aunt Willette have wrinkles under her eyes?â He pointed to Willetteâs eyes and asked.
âAunt Willette is still young. How could she have wrinkles? Take your sister to play.â
Willette unconsciously touched under her eyes and looked panicked.
âMommy, lying is wrong. Youâre setting a bad example. Aunt Willette does have wrinkles. One, two, three⦠seven of them,â Tavish said, making Willette angry, âShut up!â She yelled at Tavish, who was startled. Nydia pulled him over, âSister, what are you doing? Heâs just a child!â
ââ¦â
But Tavish continued, âMommy, you donât have a single wrinkle under your eyes. Youâre so beautiful and young!â His words hit Willette like a barrage of arrows, making her angry enough to want to hit him.
Nydia covered his mouth and apologized to Willette, âSister, donât mind him. Heâs just a child and talks nonsense.â
âIâm leaving.â Willette couldnât take it anymore and got up to leave.
âSister, donât go. You just arrived. Are you going to be angry with Tavish? Are you blaming me for not educating him?â Nydia lowered her head, looking very aggrieved.
Willette picked up the unopened green tea and handed it to Nydia, âYou drink it.â
âI have some at home. You donât get to drink imported green tea every day.â
ââ¦â Was she showing off?
This was supposed to be Mrs. Pascallâs identity!
âOh, by the way, I remember something. You knew about Tavish and I falling into the water last time,â Nydia said.
âYes, I know. Whatâs the matter?â
Nydia had been observing Willetteâs expression while talking about the incident. She saw nervousness on Willetteâs face, which meant she was definitely involved in the matter.
âWeâve been investigating the incident and we finally have some leads.â
âLeads? Have you found the people who harmed you?â
Willette looked surprised.
âWe now know what they look like, and weâll probably catch them soon.â
âBut didnât you say it was Jesse who did it before? Wasnât it you who told me that you suspected him?â Willette said, suddenly realizing Tavish and Molly were present, and covered her mouth. âSince you know what they look like, you should arrest them. Thatâs outrageous!â
âWhat? Did I say that? Wasnât it you who told me you suspected Jesse?â Nydia asked.
âWhy should I say such a thing? Jesse is Tavishâs dad!â
âYes, surely we can find out the truth!â She was right, but Willette grew more nervous.
âNydia, I remember I have some unfinished business at the office. I must go back.â
âDonât you want to stay for dinner?â
