Chapter 35
Reborn Before The Divorce
âHeâs willing to pay a price and even use any means necessary to beat you,â Nydia said.
âOh?â Jesseâs lips curled slightly. âIt seems like you know him well.â
Nydiaâs heart skipped a beat, but she tried to remain calm. âWillette often talks about him with me, and because I used to hate you, they didnât hide some things from me.â
âDoes that mean youâre betraying them?â Jesseâs words seemed like traps, and Nydia had to think carefully before answering.
âNo, youâre my husband, and we share the same fate. Moreover, it was Willette who asked me to steal your plan. This behavior itself is despicable, and I just returned the favor.â
âShare the same fate?â Jesse repeated Nydiaâs words in a low voice, with a hint of mockery in his tone. âYou, who have been doing everything possible to divorce me, are saying this to me, Nydia. I donât recognize you anymore.â
From Jesseâs tone, it was clear that he still didnât trust her. Nydia was used to it. After all, if she were in his shoes, it would be hard to believe that a person could suddenly change. Suddenly, Jesse took out an agreement from his drawer and placed it in front of Nydia.
Nydia looked down, and her face turned pale. It was a divorce agreement!
âWhy?â Nydia couldnât believe it.
âI suddenly felt bored, and you helped me get the reward from Barclay. You can take a look at the agreement.â Jesseâs distrust of her was accepted, but Nydia was angry now. She immediately took the agreement and looked at it.
Jesseâs eyes were full of ridicule as he watched her. However, his fingers were tightly clenched, showing some tension.
âThe content of the agreement is straightforward. The two children belong to me, and I will give you a house, a car, and five million in cash. From then on, weâre even.â His voice was cold, and he spoke slowly.
Nydia sneered and slammed the agreement on the table. âIs this it?â
She didnât hide her anger and looked directly into Jesseâs eyes. âNot enough?â
Jesse thought she was angry because she was dissatisfied with the property distribution. âOf course not. The two children belong to me, and I want two houses, two cars, and one billion in cash.â
Jesseâs face was instantly covered with frost. When he spoke again, his tone was a bit cruel. âNydia, you dare to ask for so much.â
âYes, I ask for so much. If youâre not happy, then donât get a divorce.â In fact, Nydia didnât want to get a divorce.
She raised her chin and looked like she was being unreasonable rather than fighting for her rights.
âIâve done everything I can for you. If I donât want to give it to you, you wonât get anything. I advise you to be sensible!â
âAnyway, even if you give it to me, I wonât divorce you.â Nydia said bluntly.
Jesse stared at her eyes and was silent for a few seconds before speaking. âI can agree to your terms, but the two children must be mine.â
âThen forget it.â Nydia answered without hesitation.
âNydia, this is your only chance to get a divorce. The children will be mine, and I agree to your other conditions.â
She pretended to think carefully about what he said, frowning, and alternating between looking at him and dropping her eyes.
Jesseâs face didnât change, but his hand under the table was already clenched, and knowing Nydia, she would say yes, so much so that it would take him a strong will not to overturn the table.
Howeverâ¦
