Chapter 34
Reborn Before The Divorce
The next morning, the bidding meeting was held as scheduled. Jesse and Barclay both attended, as well as several companies that were interested in the project. This time, since it involved cooperation with the government, the project was quite large. If they were able to win the bid, it would be a major achievement.
Everyone had prepared their plans in advance. Jesse glanced at Barclay and caught his gaze. Barclay lifted his eyebrows provocatively, the movement was small but noticeable.
âWeâve all seen your plans, and theyâre all quite good. Some of the prices are a bit high, but the after-sales service is good. Some of the prices are low, but the after-sales service isnât as good.â
âMr. Evans, your price is still a bit high. Would you consider lowering it?â
âMr. Dawson, our price is indeed a bit high, but our after-sales service is very comprehensive. You wonât have any worries, and I think itâs worth it. You can consider it.â
Barclay felt that his offer was very tempting. Apart from the slightly higher price, the other party didnât need to bear any risks.
âIt seems that Mr. Evans has a lot of confidence in your products.â
âOf course.â
âIf sales are good, we will have a large demand. Can you supply us in a timely manner?â
âNo problem, we will make early preparations.â
Barclayâs smile never left his face. He felt that he was almost certain of winning the bid.
Mr. Dawson looked at Jesse again. âMr. Pascall, your price is good, but you donât have any after-sales support.â
âItâs precisely because weâve lowered our price that we canât offer after-sales support. Please forgive us.â
If the price was low and there was no need to bear any risks, wouldnât that be a great thing?
âAlright, thank you for coming to todayâs bidding. We will notify you after the meeting when we make a decision. Now, please all have lunch together.â
After lunch, Jesse returned to the company. As expected, Barclayâs plan was chosen. As for how they would communicate later, it was their own business. Jesse was not involved in this matter.
When he got home, he didnât mention the bidding to Nydia. She secretly looked at Jesse, but couldnât gather any useful information from his face. But she thought to herself that since Jesse didnât get angry or call her out for questioning, he must have believed her, or perhaps Barclay used the plan she modified.
After dinner, Jesse suddenly looked at Nydia with a serious expression. âCome to my study with me.â
Nydiaâs heart suddenly became uneasy.
After they entered the study, Jesse just looked at her without speaking, his eyes were cold.
Nydia felt her scalp tingling. âDid you call me here for something?â
Jesse asked, âDonât you have anything to tell me?â
Was he testing her?
Nydiaâs mind raced. âHas the bidding started? Did Barclay do something unexpected?â
âBarclay won the bid for this project.â
âIn accordance with the plan we modified?â
âYeah.â
Nydia breathed a sigh of relief. At least there were no unexpected surprises, which proved that she was right.
âHow did you know that Barclay would use your plan?â
Jesse crossed his arms and looked at her.
