Chapter 313 Suddenly clingy
Reborn Before The Divorce
Nydia held Jesseâs hand tightly. âI wonât leave. Iâll ask Julia to get them.â
âJulia, go and get Molly and Tavish.â
âYes, Missus.â
âI wonât leave. Iâll stay here with you.â She sat down on the sofa. âDo you want to sit on the sofa too?â
Jesseâs emotions slowly calmed down, and he slowly got up from the wheelchair and moved to the sofa.
In fact, Nydia just wanted to see how he was doing now, whether he could use his legs, so that she could feel relieved.
Not long after, Molly and Tavish arrived, but they stood far away and didnât dare to come closer.
âCome here. Dad just apologized. Now Iâll let Dad apologize to Molly again. Is that okay?â She waved to Molly.
Tavish held Mollyâs hand and walked over, standing about two steps away from Jesse, making sure they could run away if something happened.
âDad, it was my fault earlier. Iâm sorry. Please donât be angry.â Molly took the initiative to apologize first. Her eyes were swollen, obviously from crying for a long time.
Jesse pursed his lips and didnât speak.
âDad, are you still angry?â Molly couldnât come closer, so she could only ask timidly.
âCome here.â Jesse looked at Molly.
Molly subconsciously wanted to look at Tavish, but she held back. She knew that if she looked at her brother, Dad might be angry again.
After hesitating for a second, she walked towards Jesse.
Tavish and Nydiaâs hearts were raised, staring at Jesse, afraid that he might hurt Molly.
Jesse grabbed Mollyâs arm with one hand and wiped her eye corner with the other.
âIâm sorry, Dad shouldnât have been angry with Molly. Itâs Dadâs fault.â
Tavish and Nydia immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Molly burst into tears and threw herself into Jesseâs arms, crying loudly.
Jesse was stunned for a moment, then hugged Molly and put her on his lap.
âDonât cry. Your eyes are swollen. It wonât look good if you keep crying.â
Molly didnât speak, just hugged Jesseâs neck and wiped her tears and snot all over him.
âMolly, come down. Youâre making Dad dirty.â Nydia couldnât bear to see snot all over Jesseâs neck.
âI wonât! Hmph, Dad was mean to me. I want to make him dirty!â She wiped him again on the other side.
Thenâ¦
Puff!
Nydia couldnât help but laugh, and Tavish laughed too.
âWhy are you laughing?â Molly was confused.
âMolly, youâre blowing bubbles from your nose!â Nydia quickly took a photo with her phone and showed it to Molly, revealing a small bubble on her nose. Molly blushed and quickly wiped her nose with a tissue.
The atmosphere immediately became more cheerful, dispelling the previous sense of gloom and unease.
âDaddy, let me help you wipe your nose,â Molly said, and she helped Jesse clean himself up.
Jesseâs lips curved into a slight smile.
âIâll go cook for you all. You guys stay with daddy,â Nydia said as she stood up.
But as she tried to leave, Jesse grabbed her hand and refused to let her go.
Whatâs going on? Why is he so clingy?
âDo you want to come with me to the kitchen?â Nydia asked.
Jesse stood up and followed Nydia to the kitchen in his wheelchair.
Nydia asked Julia to keep an eye on the two kids and give them a bath while she cooked. Once they were done, they could eat.
As she worked in the kitchen, Jesse kept his eyes fixed on Nydia, watching her every move, as if he had to keep her in his line of sight.
Half an hour later, Nydia had cooked a bowl of wonton, a bowl of noodle soup, a plate of noodles, and two fried eggs.
âJesse, you go out first. Iâll bring the food to the dining room,â Nydia said.
Jesse cooperated and led the way. However, he kept turning his head back to look at Nydia before turning back around.
Nydia found this strange. Whatâs going on?
Even when he was ill before, he wasnât this clingy. He would only push her away, but now he wonât let her go!
Nydia thought about taking Jesse to a specialized mental hospital to see if he needed treatment. She was worried that if this continued, things could get worse.
Molly and Tavish finished their bath just in time for dinner.
âGet whatever you want and put it in your own bowl,â Nydia cut the two fried eggs in half and gave each child one half. âThese halves are for Molly and Tavish, and these are for daddy and Mommy.â
She gave each child their food and gave Jesse his share. âEat!â
Jesse quickly ate his half of the fried egg.
âI want to eat wonton and noodles,â he said to Nydia.
âOkay.â
Nydia prepared the food and put the wonton in a small bowl and the noodles on a plate.
âHere you go.â
Then they watched as Jesse obediently ate his food, his compliance shocking both Nydia and the two kids.
Is this really Jesse?!
Nydia has a feeling of taking care of children on her own. She is troubled and worried about Jesseâs condition as she eats. After finishing their meal, the two children return to their room. Although they feel that Jesseâs condition is a bit unusual, as long as he doesnât go crazy, itâs still manageable.
âJesse, letâs each take a shower now.â
Jesse looked at her, but it was unclear what he was thinking. Nydia was worried that he might not agree, but he did, although he seemed a bit uneasy.
She went back to the room, thinking that with Jesseâs clinginess, would they sleep together tonight? At this point, she definitely couldnât refuse, but she had to let Jesse sleep in her room so that she could easily treat his leg.
She had intended to take a bath, but she was afraid that Jesse might get upset if he couldnât see her after he finished showering, so she just took a shower instead. She spent about twenty minutes in the bathroom, including removing her makeup and washing her face.
She put on her pajamas and opened the bathroom door, and was startled to see Jesse standing there.
âWhen did you come in?â
No response.
From then on, wherever she went, he followed. When she did her skincare routine, he just watched silently by her side.
âAre you tired? If you are, go to sleep. I still need to draw a design,â Nydia said to him.
He shook his head.
Nydia glanced at the time, which was still early. She could draw for a while longer and go to bed at 10:30.
Sometimes, she was so engrossed in drawing that she didnât pay attention to Jesse. When she came back to her senses and looked over, she found that he had been staring at her the whole time.
It had been a long time since they had been together so âharmoniouslyâ and quietly, even though this harmony was a bit unnerving.
She decided to test him.
âBy the way, do you remember what I told you about the heavy rain thatâs coming next week?â
Jesse furrowed his brow, looking a bit confused.
This made Nydia even more certain that something was wrong with him.
âWhat will happen during the heavy rain?â he asked.
âItâs nothing.â It was useless to say it now. She figured that he wouldnât remember when he sobered up.
But then Jesse suddenly said, âDuring the heavy rain, Iâll come pick you up from work.â
Nydia was taken aback. She hadnât expected that.
But after furrowing his brow in thought for a moment, he said, âDuring the heavy rain, donât go to work. Itâs dangerous.â
âI have money, I can give you money,â he said, then took out his phone and transferred one million dollars to her account before she could stop him.
The phone beeped, and the money was in her account.
â⦠Will he take it back when he sobers up?â
