Jesse actually had another gift to give to Nydia, but he didn’t want to say it now.

“Later, mommy has to go find Aunt Willette. You and daddy can go to the Antique Hotel to find mommy tonight.”

“Mommy, can we come with you?” Tavish was worried.

“You’ll come with daddy tonight.”

She was afraid that if the two children went with her, they wouldn’t be able to divide their attention properly, and if something happened to the two children, it would be a problem.
