“Okay.”

Nydia checked the tires and brakes before driving out, making sure everything was fine.

It wasn’t until she got home that she relaxed. The power imbalance between men and women was real, and saying otherwise was just false.

During dinner, she brought up the plagiarism incident with Asher.

Jesse remained nonchalant, “Then he won’t be able to survive in this industry.”

“The company is looking into it. The other party seems to be a small-time player. If the company wants to protect him, they should be able to do so.”

Asher was a big designer for the company, and this kind of scandal wouldn’t look good for them.

“Let me know if there are any updates.”

“Are you interested in this too?”

“Just curious.” Jesse’s attitude was indifferent, as if he really was just curious.

Nydia didn’t think too much about it and assumed Jesse was only curious too. She didn’t know that Jesse had actually orchestrated the whole thing.

“What was his reaction today?”

“He was very angry and thought it was me. He even threw a mineral water bottle at me!” Nydia intentionally acted scared, “I’m worried he’ll come after me. He might hit me, or even stab me with a knife. If he gets irritated, he might stab me 10 or 20 times, and I’ll be in excruciating pain!”

With each word Nydia said, Jesse’s face grew darker.

“Mommy, is it really that dangerous? Don’t go to work anymore, if Daddy doesn’t give you any money. I’ll give you my pocket money!” Molly was extremely worried and immediately ran to Nydia’s side, leaning on her, “Brother, give some of your pocket money too. Let’s support Mommy!”

Jesse’s face was completely black. Since when did he not give Nydia any money?

“Thank you, Molly. But Mommy is not going to work because Daddy doesn’t give me money to spend. Mommy also wants to realize my own value.” Nydia explained.

Molly tilted her head and probably didn’t understand what Nydia was saying. She just wrinkled her brow and asked, “So, did Daddy really not give Mommy any money to spend?”

“Daddy gives Mommy money to spend. With Daddy being so rich, Molly and Tavish still need to go to school. We need to learn more and meet different people to show off our abilities to others,” Molly nodded in understanding.

“Daddy, you need to protect Mommy!” Molly said to Jesse seriously.

“I’ll have the driver take you to work and back,” Jesse replied smoothly.

“Okay,” Nydia didn’t refuse. She didn’t want to die in the hands of Asher before getting revenge.

People like Asher, who are so extreme, are capable of doing anything.

“Mommy, are there any handsome guys where you work?” Tavish suddenly asked.

This question left Nydia stunned. She thought about it and answered, “There is one who looks decent and is rumored to be a dream guy for many girls, but I think he’s not as handsome as your daddy!”

Jesse’s face turned cold at the first half of the sentence.

The coldness instantly melted away with the second half, shining like warm sunshine.

After dinner, Nydia drank traditional Chinese medicine. She looked at the prescription written by the traditional Chinese doctor, all of which were written by the doctor himself. However, she recognized these medicine names and knew their effects. This traditional Chinese doctor was indeed skilled.

But she felt that the prescription could still be improved.

She immediately searched through her medical books and notes, replaced two types of medicine, and sent the updated prescription to Mr. Black.

Mr. Black approved of her prescription after reading it and thought it was better than the previous one.

This made Nydia very happy. It seemed that what she had learned before was not wasted. She needed to review it carefully in the future. She wanted to cure Jesse’s leg!

Just as she was studying medicine, she received a call from Willette.

“Nydia, come home and spend the night tonight. It’s your birthday tomorrow, and I need you, the star, to come and check the set I’ve prepared,” Willette said.

“And, I’ve prepared a designer dress for you. You need to come and try it on.”
