Chapter 248
Reborn Before The Divorce
Nydia waited inside for a while, and when she realized Jesse wasnât coming in, she knew he must be shy.
She wasnât really angry with him anymore, but she didnât want to go out right away. She had been too tired these days and needed to relax in the bath.
She had asked Julia to fill up the tub with water and add some essential oils before she came home, so she could soak in as soon as she got home.
Twenty minutes had passed by the time she came out.
âWhat do you need me for?â Nydia walked out in a camisole nightgown, barefoot on the carpet.
The black nightgown accentuated her fair skin, and her slender figure was graceful.
âI asked you to send me the picture earlier, why havenât you sent it yet?â Jesse asked, looking away from her.
There was still some dissatisfaction in his tone.
âDid you send it to the seller?â Jesse frowned and asked sharply, his emotions suddenly becoming intense.
âNo, I just forgot about it. Iâll send it to you now.â Nydia opened her laptop. âIâll send it to your email so it wonât affect the quality.â
âOkay.â
After sending the picture, she took out the design draft from her bag. Her task today was to organize the design draft, which was a thick stack of paper that made her feel overwhelmed. She even wondered if Taylor was doing it on purpose to mess with her. Maddie said that designer assistants typically had to go through this, unless they had a strong connection to get in.
Jesse saw the picture and his breathing momentarily stopped. He remembered what Nydia looked like in that outfit. In fact, there was not much difference between her in the picture and in real life. That was why he didnât want to show the picture to anyone else.
After saving the picture, Jesse noticed that Nydia was no longer paying attention to him and was busy with her own work.
He leaned over to take a closer look at the design draft. It was a very ordinary design, but very thick, indicating that Nydia was dealing with something very tedious over there.
Was Cade doing this on purpose to mess with her?
According to Jesseâs personality, he would definitely leave at this time. But today, he didnât know what was wrong with him. Instead of leaving, he foolishly asked, âYouâre really busy now, huh?â
As soon as he finished speaking, he realized how foolish he was. It was obvious that Nydia was busy.
Nydia wanted to roll her eyes, thinking that even a blind person could see how busy she was. Butâ¦
The fact that Jesse asked this question was already a big improvement. She couldnât crush his enthusiasm at this time, otherwise it would be even harder to get him to take the initiative next time.
She immediately looked up at him with a pitiful look and said, âYes, Iâm so busy. Iâm tired all the time, and Iâm always being ordered around.â She spoke in a sweet tone, dragging her voice, occasionally raising her eyebrows and pouting her lips, and sighed softly.
Jesse suddenly didnât feel embarrassed anymore, and silently gave Cade a big thumbs down in his heart.
âWell, do you want to quit?â he asked.
âNo, I canât. Iâve only been here for a few days, and if I quit now, itâll be embarrassing. Besides, I came here to infiltrate the enemy, and only by enduring hardship can I stand out.â
Nydia was cheering herself up while speaking, which made Jesse laugh. âMy wife is so cute!â He was stunned when this thought came to him.
âHow should you organize these design drafts? I can help you with some of the workload.â
Nydia was surprised. This was the first time Jesse had offered to help her, and he spoke in a normal tone rather than a sarcastic one.
Had she finally changed Jesse?
As expected, this straight man was easily swayed by a womanâs charm.
âThese design drafts are all from before, so they were just piled up there. Taylor took them out and asked me to organize them by season, then pick out some good ones to give to her tomorrow.â
âYou work with a designer named Taylor?â
âYes, do you know her?â She wrote the name down for Jesse to see.
âNo, I donât.â But he remembered it.
Nydia talked about the design department while organizing, and Jesse responded from time to time.
The two of them were able to work faster when they worked together.
