Chapter 234
Reborn Before The Divorce
Nydia laughed joyfully, and the more she laughed, the darker Jesseâs face became.
âYou finish your drawing and let me check it,â Jesse said.
âOkay,â Mr. Pascall was so dominant that he was truly captivating.
âBy the way, the Malones are going to celebrate my birthday, and Willette asked me how I want to celebrate.â
She almost forgot about this.
After being reborn, she didnât have much of an idea about her birthday. If she had to celebrate it, she just wanted to keep it simple with her family.
But Willette meant to make it grand, and it couldnât be casual.
âWhen are you planning to start work?â Jesse asked.
âMaybe in the next couple of days. Iâm planning to go home for a meal and discuss this with my family.â
âOkay.â
âBut if I start working, I wonât be able to make you a lunch box. Youâll have to eat at the company cafeteria.â
Jesse suddenly changed his mind.
âHow about you come to the company cafeteria to work?â
ââ¦â How could you say that?
The presidentâs wife working as a cook in the cafeteria? Jesse, be reasonable! Do you want to tire me out?!
âYou go to the Malone Villa and be careful,â Nydia said.
âI know. They probably wonât do anything for now. What worries me is if they throw me a birthday party, there might be trouble.â
Now, Nydia going to the Malone Villa was a sensitive matter. The Malones probably wouldnât dare to do anything at home, or else Jesse would bring reporters along, and the Malones would really ruin their reputation.
âIâm really going back to sleep. I wonât bother you anymore.â Nydia spoke with some resentment. Jesse wanted to say something to ease the tension, but he didnât know what to say, so he could only watch Nydia leave.
And Nydia was thinking, how could this scumbag not even try to stop her from leaving?
Too much!
He didnât even want to make love to her?
She was just massaging her loneliness earlier!
She was so angry!
Nydia lay in bed thinking about when she first met Jesse.
In her memory, the first time she met Jesse was with Willette.
Willette and Jesse were engaged, but Jesse never asked Willette out for a meal. The two of them were like strangers, except when they were in the presence of their elders, they would interact.
They met Jesse at a cocktail party.
That day he was wearing a light gray suit without a tie, and he stood out in the crowd without any effort.
He had prominent eyebrows, sharp eyes, and thin lips.
There were numerous beautiful women present, but his eyes didnât linger on anyone for a moment.
Nydia remembered looking into his eyes briefly, but she knew he was Willetteâs fiance, so she quickly looked away.
However, Willette took her to talk to Jesse.
Nydia didnât remember what they talked about, but she remembered that Jesse was polite and distant throughout the conversation, while Willette was very excited.
Marrying such a man was something to be proud of.
But a car accident took away his pride, and he became irritable and melancholic. He no longer had the arrogance of being invincible, and he was constantly oscillating between repression and mania, ready to explode at any moment.
That night she had a dream.
In the dream, there were a boy and a girl, but she couldnât see their faces clearly. They kept running and running until they couldnât run anymore, and the girl said to the boy, âDonât be afraid, I will protect you!â
When Nydia woke up, she felt confused and thought the dream was strange. Why did she dream about this?
