Chapter 130
Reborn Before The Divorce
âWhatâs that expression on your face?â Rosalind was angry!
She pointed at Nydia and said angrily, âWhatâs with your attitude? Just because my son likes you, you think you can be so arrogant? You donât even care about me, your mother-in-law?â
âMom, did you come here today just to pick a fight with me?â Nydia asked, looking at her.
âPick a fight? Do you think I have nothing better to do? I just came to see if youâre causing any drama!â
âYou can ask the servants if Iâm causing any drama, they definitely wonât be on my side.â
Nydiaâs straightforward manner made Rosalind uncomfortable. She had come to inspect and see if she could catch Nydia doing something wrong, but she didnât find anything, which made her even angrier.
She always felt that her son and Nydia being together would cause trouble.
âCome over here, letâs talk.â Rosalind calmed down and decided to have a good chat with this unruly girl.
Nydia followed her over, and the two of them had a conversation in the living room.
âTell me, what do you want?â Rosalind leaned back on the sofa, her eyes revealing disgust as she stared at her as if she could see through her. âWorld peace.â
âNydia!â Rosalind shouted, and though Nydia wasnât scared, it scared the servant who was waiting on the side.
âMom, calm down. Getting angry is not good for your health. Donât worry about Jesse and me. We will be happy together for a long time, until we grow old.â
Seeing Rosalindâs face turn unpleasant, Nydia guessed that she was about to swear.
But after years of training, Rosalind managed to hold it in.
âYou wanted a divorce before, and now youâre not getting a divorce? Whatâs going on?â
âIâve figured it out. I have an excellent husband and two lovely children. Why would I want to divorce? I was foolish before, but after drowning, the water in my brain flowed into the lake, and now Iâm clear-headed.â
Rosalind felt that Nydia was just talking nonsense.
Looking at Rosalind suddenly calming down and her eyes flashing, Nydia felt a pang of unease and had a bad feeling.
Rosalind had been through a lot in her life, and although she could be impulsive for her son, she wasnât stupid. As long as she calmed down a bit, she knew how to deal with Nydia.
âYou want to be with Jesse now, donât you?â
âYes.â
âSo what about things youâve done in the past?â Rosalindâs gaze was meaningful, with a slight curve at the corner of her mouth as she leisurely sipped her tea.
âTo err is human, to forgive divine. Making mistakes is not terrible, as long as you correct them, right?â
Rosalind snorted, âMaking mistakes definitely comes with a price, donât you think? Otherwise, the cost of making mistakes would be too low, wouldnât it? Besides, if you donât pay a price, how do I know youâve corrected yourself?â
âMom, what should I do then?â Nydia knew she couldnât escape today, Rosalind was definitely going to embarrass her.
But instead of answering directly, Rosalind instructed the butler, âJeff, bring paper and a pen, preferably a bigger sheet of paper.â
âMissus, here are the paper and pen,â Jeff said as he placed them on the tea table.
âNydia, since you know youâve made a mistake, write a two-thousand-word self-criticism essay.â
Upon hearing this, Nydia breathed a small sigh of relief. Although two thousand words were difficult to write, at least she could do it.
However, Rosalindâs next sentence instantly made Nydiaâs heart sink.
âWrite it on your knees, and donât stop until youâre finished.â
âMom, donât you think your request is a bit excessive?â Nydia frowned and asked.
âIf you think my request is excessive, you can choose not to write it. I donât mind. Itâs up to you.â Rosalind picked up a pastry from the tea table and took a bite before taking a sip of her tea, appearing particularly relaxed and content, in stark contrast to Nydiaâs pale and grim expression.
