Chapter 109
Reborn Before The Divorce
Jesse looked at Sara, who smiled as if she was not worried at all.
âI talked a lot with Mrs. Pascall just now, all within the scope of testing. You know, I always do testing differently from others.â Sara apologized to Nydia, âMrs. Pascall, Iâm sorry if I offended you earlier. If there is anything that makes you unhappy, please let me know.â
Nydia couldnât help but think that Sara was quite skilled at pretending. She couldnât tell if the conversation just now was about testing or if Sara was testing her.
âImmersive testing? Impressive!â she thought to herself.
âIn fact, Mrs. Pascallâs problem is quite small, and itâs your problem thatâs bigger. Since youâre here today, why donât you come with me and we can talk about it? Iâve been wanting you to come for a re-check for a long time, but youâve always been too busy. You canât refuse now that youâre here, right?â Sara asked Jesse.
Jesse thought for a moment and agreed to go with Sara. They left the office, leaving Vergil and Nydia behind.
âVergil, does Jesse come here often?â Nydia asked.
âSorry, maâam, I have no comment,â Vergil replied.
Nydia couldnât help but think that Sara was quite extraordinary. If Sara really liked Jesse, his status must be quite high, unlike Willette. She admired Saraâs ability to lie so easily.
Moreover, she couldnât be sure if Sara really liked Jesse or if he was just testing her.
Nydia sat on the sofa biting her nails, wanting to eavesdrop on Sara and Jesseâs conversation, but it was unlikely since Vergil was still here.
Sara and Jesse sat face to face in the room. Sara played soothing music to help them relax, a treatment Nydia didnât receive earlier.
âDoes my wife really have no problems?â Jesse asked.
âYou care about your wife a lot, donât you?â Sara asked with a smile.
âYes.â
âWhy havenât you come for such a long time? Is it better or⦠you donât want to face it?â
âItâs better.â He replied simply, his throat still sore and unwilling to talk too much, but thankfully his nasal tone had diminished a lot. Otherwise, he would be even less willing to speak. As Nydia put it, he sounded whiny when he spoke with a nasal tone. Although he didnât think so himself.
âI donât believe you when you say itâs better. We still have to test it and let the data speak for itself.â
After some testing, Sara raised his eyebrows.
âJesse, youâre lying. Your condition is still very bad, and itâs worse than before. Whatâs going on?â
âItâs okay. I donât think itâs a big problem. Although the data shows that, I feel better myself.â He seemed indifferent.
This made Sara very angry.
âThis is not a small problem. Once psychological problems erupt, they can be more serious than physical illnesses.â
âItâs not that serious. Today Iâm mainly here to accompany my wife.â
Sara sighed, âYou still care so much about your wife.â
Jesse pulled the corners of his mouth without saying anything.
âIâll go first.â
He turned his wheelchair and prepared to leave. Sara immediately stood up and stopped him from leaving.
âThere are only two factors that have caused your current condition to be so bad. One is your leg injury, and the other is your wife.â
Sara mustered the courage to say, and when Jesseâs cold eyes fell on her, her heart tightened, feeling a chill in her chest. But Jesse didnât erupt, which made her breathe a sigh of relief. She knew that if it were someone else, Jesseâs emotions would definitely be out of control.
âI canât do anything about your leg injury. You know better than I do. But your wife, being with her is of no benefit to you and will worsen your condition. Are you sure you want to continue?â
Jesseâs eyes changed, âDid you tell her all this today?â
